I know people that ride amusement park rides so they can feel like that.

@MsFeline-qd7yo Any plane can enter a flat spin. Dual engine ones are just very very difficult to recover from vs a single prop.
An earlier report said that the plane went into a nosedive. This is done to pick up airspeed, just didn't work in time.

The aircraft was intact. The report didn't mention that there was an initial loss of altitude, which was slowly regained, and then the aircraft did a frisbee maneuver all the way down.
Similar profiles are associated with the Air France flight 447 and the Boeing MCAS disasters. The common thread is non-functioning pitot tubes. Since we can assume that the aircraft didn't have MCAS (pretty obviously) then it's too bad the pilot didn't push the nose down for some airspeed to regain controlled flight.

Someone didn't know how to fly a plane. Even if it lost it's engines, this shouldn't happen.
You can't fly a plane with ice on it's leading edge bud.
if it lost a hydraulic line, this would happen. from 17,000ft there's enough air to recover a spin, unless you don't have control surfaces. the stall, the spin, lack of recovery and fireball (fuelled and working engines) all point to control surface failure. It certainly wasn't the pilot because the plane was flying itself, and with all the training and certification they need, saying they forgot how to drive is the dumbest thing i've ever heard. let's hear your theory, einstein

@@PsycandyOK Einstein. The Nepal plane crash--an experienced pilot mistakingly zeroed the pitch of the propeller blades and the plane crashed. Pilot error. They're human. They make mistakes. I'm not saying this was pilot error only that pilot error is a factor in many plane crashes.

i use to experience anxiety attack during mild turbulance in plane, imagine if the plane is descending rapidly with a spiral move, i would have passed out before the plane touches the ground, RIP to all the people onboard!

This accident was probably caused by icing.
Then when a spin developed, The pilots had 16,000 feet to escape the spin. They should have cut power, nose down to get airspeed over rudder, but videos show the plane on full power until just before hitting the ground.
This will result in another painful safety reckoning for Brazil.

It will be interesting to see what the investigation turns up. Icing of the wings as a possible cause will certainly be considered.

This is exactly what has happened several times before in the US. Flying into severe icing conditions the ATR has lost lift and crashed in Indiana and Illinois.
I'm thinking both U.S. locations have colder conditions, no?

It's more like the pilot radiod the tower to descend. During that delay is when it stalled. The pilot has the right to self correct the issue at hand. The airplane had developed ice on the wings. Then, he lost lift because of that. The pilot wanted to descend to a lower altitude.

maybe. that plane was in a flat spin, it had no forward velocity. It had fuel and engines were working, didn't look like control surfaces were working. My vote is for hydraulic line failure, which would account for the stall, the spin, the lack of recovery and the fuelled-and-working engines.

It sounds like they kept the power in, rather than reducing to idle and pushing the nose down in order to gain enough airspeed to create sufficient lift with the iced-up wings.
