It is my first time, planting the dragon fruits., almost a month now, and one of the branch of may dragon was having sprouting. Hopefully, i can follow you of how to take care the dragon fruits, and etc. Thank you, that i had an idea how to pruning!
Thx for sharing tipping technique! I did mine two days ago; I saw a lots of flowers bud today! Just like magic! My husband said it’s only coincidence.I thought you said they take 3-4 mos for the flower bud.
So this is pruning for fruit growth. Would you leave more shoots if you wanted segments to sell to other gardeners? Also do long branches produce more fruit than short branches?
Hi Richard, Thank you for your video. But I still need your advice. I have a few new growths under my plant. Should I leave them or remove them. Thanks.
Hellow sir , can you help me , or even tell me what kind of fertilizer did you use in your dragon fruit...and how often did you put it ....weekly or monthly...please ,bacause im a beginner of planting this fruit..
Hi, my main branches have sub-branches like 10 feet. I cut and moved to another pot. Will it survive. What should I do to help it rooted fast. Thank you very much. I really enjoy watching all of your clips. You did wonderful job.
Hi, I just opened my yellow dragon fruit today to plant the seeds and noticed that some of these seeds are either completely red and look a bit dried or, for me even more interesting, some of these black seeds contain like a small embryo-shaped red ... something. Does anyone know what that means? Google wasn't really helping here. I've not seen that before. If it a good or bad thing?
Hi I am just starting my dragon fruit. right now i have 4 small cuttings planted in my nursery tub and they have ALL sent out new growth like yours in this video. Each have 5-6 new shoots and at this point they are going in all directions. should i remove some of them to try to focus the plant upward? thanks for great videos!
Yes, same happened to me, I left two going up and I left 2 that were very close to the base so when I transplant it, I'll place it lower so they are in the dirt
Thanks for your great videos. Just had a question, the points wherw you trim away the growth will they ever have a chance to bloom a flower and fruit in the future or are they done with now?
He should sell a little off shoots. I'll definitely buy some cutting and off shoots from you. I'm a big cactus and succulents fun. And I do have some different species of tropical cactus but not a dragon fruit.
HI Richard Le. When is the right time to tip my dragonfruit so it will produce more branches? Mine have grown very long very gast and i think it is time for them to branch out but not sure how or when to make that happen.
My dragon fruit flower turned yellow and fell down after blooming , I , hand polinat the flowers but the results are same ,so u give your valuable feedback please
Hey Rich, what if I don't have a lead branch yet and I just tipped it like in a previous video you made? As of now they are growing new shoots around where I tipped it.
thanks this was very helpful as my DF is growing nuts. i had fruit from it last year and so far i have just left them alone. i need to get them into better pots with a trellis like yours the tomatoe plant trellis is starting to lean over with the weight of my plants. is there a plan or some place i can buy those trellis you have.
new to planting dragon fruits and been watching and liked your informative videos...one question...what would you do when your plant main stem reached the top of trellis do you cut it?...i presume you do that for the branches to shoot out and then you can do your pruning, etc... appreciate your feedback...cheers...
Hi, I have a question. I have a cutting that has been planted in soil for about a month. But there is no new growth at all. There are only small white hairs growing where I expect a new branch to grow from. Not sure what is going on
Alan Li, those are external roots which are common with dragon fruit. Don't give up, some dragon fruit sprout quickly others will take a while but they are hardy and will grow.
Hi Richard! My cuttings sheltered for the winter with artificial light have stretched very subtly. Will I take them out in the sun in a month, cut the thin branches they made? Thanks :)
Hello, I have a dragonfruit plant 'undatus'. Around a month ago, I planted it in a 5 gallon bucket, and around a week ago it started to become yellow. Does anyone know what I can do?
I live in San Antonio TX and I pulled mine out of the garage a few weeks ago and the hot sun turned some of the branches white, they still have off shoots so they should be ok. Dynamic Butter is correct in monitoring the soil moisture. Richard also has a video on pruning and on fugus that may be growing.

Exallent thumb rule, if u cut off the branch towers left after removing the small buds . Won't it add to the energy to fruit more..
