So this is pruning for fruit growth. Would you leave more shoots if you wanted segments to sell to other gardeners? Also do long branches produce more fruit than short branches?

Hi, I just opened my yellow dragon fruit today to plant the seeds and noticed that some of these seeds are either completely red and look a bit dried or, for me even more interesting, some of these black seeds contain like a small embryo-shaped red ... something. Does anyone know what that means? Google wasn't really helping here. I've not seen that before. If it a good or bad thing?

new to planting dragon fruits and been watching and liked your informative videos...one question...what would you do when your plant main stem reached the top of trellis do you cut it?...i presume you do that for the branches to shoot out and then you can do your pruning, etc...
    appreciate your feedback...cheers...

Alan Li, those are external roots which are common with dragon fruit. Don't give up, some dragon fruit sprout quickly others will take a while but they are hardy and will grow.

I live in San Antonio TX and I pulled mine out of the garage a few weeks ago and the hot sun turned some of the branches white, they still have off shoots so they should be ok. Dynamic Butter is correct in monitoring the soil moisture. Richard also has a video on pruning and on fugus that may be growing.
