  • Early in December 2022 we had a family weekend at Witsieshoek Mountain Lodge and it was the perfect opportunity to get the fitter members up the chain ladders for a day! From 6yr old Angeligue to 60 something Grandpa, we had a magic hike!

Nice to have such a detailed recent video of this hike. Thank you. Children had me shaking though :D

Great to see that Witsieshoek Mountain Lodge is still a going concern, was looking up at it from top of the Crack at Royal Natal wondering about it. Love the chain-ladders hike!!

    ..
Had to look away now and then..lol...
Kids and Grans made the ladders look so easy....something I will psychologically never manage...
    😅😅😅
    Well done.....

Hi guys, awesome video .Just a quick question, how save would it be to leave a vehicle overnight at the Sentinel peak car park?

Thank you. Leaving your car at the car park is safe. We've left ours there for 3 days plus, no problem. Locked up with nothing visible.

Lovely video. Do you know if there is transport available from the lodge to the Sentinel carpark?

Enjoyed your video. We are having a class reunion in January 2024 and one of our mates suggested this walk. We will be coming from Melbourne Australia. We had done the Camino de Santiago before Covid and I thought this will be doable. We are all 66-67 years old and it’s our 50 year reunion. Looking at that ladder I’m not so sure 😅😂. How did the grand parents do it or is there another route? Really enjoyed this video. Thank you.
