- A motorway service station was the unlikely destination in the Prince of Wales' visit to Cumbria on Wednesday. Prince Charles met staff and local producers at Tebay Services on the M6, as it celebrated its 50th anniversary.

American here! I love watching the Royal Family visit regular ordinary people like me! Prince Charles just seems so down to earth. So comfortable socializing with everyone. I just adore him.

I love seeing Security so aware and attentive to the future King! Very lovely to see Prince Charles engaging so many people and even the children! I just cannot get over the numbers of visits he makes daily! I've heard about these "stations" from Top Gear boys! Amazing places for food.

Scotland Yard do a fantastic job in keeping him safe. As he gets ever closer to the top job I have noticed his security detail has subtly increased. Armed protection in the U.K. is so classy and low key compared to our dear American cousins. He will be an amazing king when the time comes. But the red glow and fat fingers are tell tale signs of drinking too much. The prince has the look very regularly and perhaps to often of being well lit. This needs to stop when he becomes the C-I-C

I’m glad that Prince Charles is down to Earth. He took a normal bite nothing unflattering but for the thumbnail you froze it at the very worst spot and I think less of you.

Looks like yucky weather, just like we had on Sunday and Monday this week in Tokyo. Of course, that's why the Queen's birthday is celebrated in June. It's amazing all the food the Royals are expected to eat on these tours. It is very wise for them to stop off at places like this, though. Obama was good at it as president, Trump never ever mingled with average people, preferring to talk at them instead of with them, and Biden has been hamstrung by the COVID pandemic, war, inflation and too many other things to get out and about making visits. That is one reason to have a constitutional monarchy: this kind of thing IS their day job. Nicely done by the Prince of Wales.
