As someone who genuinely disagreed with Dave and can truly honestly say after all these years Dave had earned my disliking towards him. Dutch is the most inoffensive personality in wrestling and it was a good thing that Tony did. Instead of just reporting on how it was amazing and kind and generous of what Tony did (don’t even have to mention Jim) he taints it by weaponizing Tony’s donation. I’m beginning to believe it isn’t Tony rather people he generously allows in his circle and gives his money to
Brian got it right, Dave is _emotionally_ invested in AEW. People say he’s on the payroll, but Dave is in deeper than money can buy… he _needs_ AEW to sound good.
EgoMania running wild is the fastest path to self-destruction. When Meltzer finally loses everything, it’s going to be satisfying with only himself to blame.
I’m a retired 911 medic. Sepsis is 1 of the most dangerous medical emergencies we encounter. It’s such a fine line of catching it before it’s too late. And once you have passed point of no return there basically no return. We were trained on recognizing early signs of being septic than on any other thing we responded to. I actually had it from a skent knee and a knee sprain that happened at the same time playing football in 1970 as a child and Drs told my mom I had the flu. Thus went on for a week. My mom being persistent took me back to the Dr 1 more time and they realized what I had then. I spent the next 45 days in the hospital. The Dr told my mom if she had waited 1 more day I would have died.
What Dave doesn’t understand is that if you wildly overpay for talent that doesn’t draw you much money in return, what happens is that you price out any competition (TNA, MLW, indies), costing jobs in the long term, and ensure that when AEW eventually fails, no one will want to start another national promotion.
I hope this shameful display by Meltzer is the nail in his coffin, and drives people away from his out of touch newsletters and his UA-cam channel. KARMA wrote down his name and number and will be keeping tabs on him from here out.
Notice Jim squashed Brian trying to bring up that he donated $5k to Dutch’s gofundme. Quickly shutting it down to avoid bringing attention to it because he’s a good man who just wants his friend healthy again.
I imagine the lead-up to that slap going like that segment where he fires Cornette lmao. "Dave, you don't drink, do drugs or anything like that, do ya?"
No one has done more to damage the mystique of wrestling than Dave Meltzer. His fanzine killed Kayfabe more than the Madison Square Garden incident and he spoils every single surprise or angle. He should have been black balled years ago. Wanker
He doesn't ruin the surprise for anyone who doesn't pay him for his newsletter or click on one of his stories. The people who read him over the years wanted to learn more and wanted things exposed.
@Rjensen2 every other two bit website also quotes or takes his word as law. Wrestling is much better when you don't know what is happening behind the curtain.
@@averylargecrow It comes down ENTIRELY to choice. Why are you so pissy about choices others make in how they consume entertainment? Side bar...it's hilarious how you think Meltzer damaged the mystique of wrestling. It has been routinely exposed as a work since the late 1800s, at least.
Next AEW show, the crowd should do the dual chants of, "Fuck you, Meltzer!" and "Get well, Dutch!" To help, the cadence would be in the style of fuck you Cena, Cena sucks which we all know and love.
I’ve disagreed with Dave’s takes for a long time but this is the first time he’s gotten this low, that I can remember. It’s one thing to have bad takes defending AEW, but to use the health of Dutch as a segway into these takes is just low and gross.
Just checked the Gofundme, Unless Dave donated anonymously, he didn’t donate to Dutch. So who is to question when he hasn’t done it himself. Considering without wrestlers Dave wouldn’t have a bad newsletter to spew.
Just wondering, if Dirty Dutch slaps him in Florida will we hear it in Kentucky? I'm hoping for a sonic boom that cracks windows and sets off car alarms. LOL
Dave has exposed himself as a tribal AEW fan. Why he had to take shots at someone for criticising someone on a professional level and not liking what he sees with AEW is beyond me. He isn't criticising Tony as a person and even Jim has said he is a nice guy from when he met him but the two things aren't the same and you can be critical of someone on a professional level and still like them as a person. Dutch is under no obligation from this point going forward to say noce things about AEW just because Tony was kind enough to donate and Tony even knows that. It shows how petty and vindictive Dave is for him to do that just because someone doesn't like AEW as much as he does.
Meltzer started off talking about Dutch & ended up talking about AEW. Corny started off talking about Meltzer & ended up talking about AEW. WHERE'S THE HEAT?!?!
It's not really possible to talk about anything related to Dave Meltzer over the past 5 years without mentioning AEW. They are attached at the hip. AEW is literally Dave Meltzer's entire personality now, to the point where he takes criticism of AEW as being a personal attack on himself.
Tony Khan made one of the biggest donations to Dutch's Go Fund Me, so clearly he's willing to put disagreements over wrestling aside, but Dave can't. Why is Dave sticking up for AEW to the point that he's even going against Tony's wishes? Truly crazy behaviour.
I think Dave's ranting and raving about a guy's podcast while that guy is battling life threatening health conditions is a contender for the Observer's "Most Disgusting Promotional Tactics Of The Year". Good on Tony for the sum, but that "report" was the worst thing Dave's ever written.
I listened to Dutch talk about this on his podcast as well (Dutch is feeling better which is great!) I think it is hilarious that both shows had to stop in the middle of Meltzer's article to mention how badly written it is.
I wouldn't pay Orange Cassidy $1 for that lame ass shit he does in a ring. Tony has a lot of cash but absolutely zero respect for pro wrestling unfortunately
Actually when the subject was first mentioned by James over on Dutch’s show, I commented that I couldn’t wait to see you guys show’s cartoon and comments on Uncle Dave and quite a few people seemed to feel same. lol. I never tire of that picture of Meltzer looking as he behaves for ages now!
Available wrestlers at the time aew started..... the Briscoe Brothers, Jay Lethal, Nick Aldis, Jacob Fatu, Hammerstone, MJF, Cody, Punk, with Jericho as the vet. That's a pretty solid core to build a wrestling company around. And then he could have pigeonholed his buddies in there as guys with jobs but not as the heads of the damn company. He could have then hired someone like Dutch Mantel or Bret Hart or someone of that ilk to agent the matches. These conversations would be completely different
I assume he's going to call his critics ignorant and tells them that "he studied these things" "reading would be your friend" "study cagematch and come back to me"
Dutch wasn't really part of my wrestling growing up but he has become well loved and respected in hisblater years by a new generation. Of course people want to help Mr and Mrs Mantel
How can a company get better if you don’t listen to majority of fans view just kissing up saying everything is great you will never move forward just loose fans
I think this is the first time everyone made the fire before Cornette. Also, he is condescending on his tone with Meltzer, like speaking about a special kid.
@@RandalfElVikingo That's how his videos about Dave typically are. The tone is "What's that wacky old Uncle Dave up to this time?". This is twice in the span of a few months where Meltzer has used the serious health issues of a wrestling legend to his benefit and it's sick well beyond wrestling just as a human being
As someone who genuinely disagreed with Dave and can truly honestly say after all these years Dave had earned my disliking towards him.
The only thing on this planet that corrupts more quickly, more severely, and more thoroughly than money is ego and its constant need to be fed.
EgoMania running wild is the fastest path to self-destruction. When Meltzer finally loses everything, it’s going to be satisfying with only himself to blame.
He's also financially invested tbf. I don't think it's an understatement to say Dave Meltzer's newsletter subscribers are almost entirely AEW marks.
Dave Meltzer's motivation is wanting someone, anyone to finally overtake WWE for good and it's now costing him friendships and credibility.
I have been eagerly awaiting this one!
Me too.
We all have. And I'm saddened we never to to read "Edmund; a butler's tale".

What Dave doesn’t understand is that if you wildly overpay for talent that doesn’t draw you much money in return, what happens is that you price out any competition (TNA, MLW, indies), costing jobs in the long term, and ensure that when AEW eventually fails, no one will want to start another national promotion.
WWE making TNA into OVW 3.0: Fine I'll do it myself
Even when your business is a passion project, no owner likes to admit they overpay for talent.
People are too quick to ignore/forget that a duopoly is no less fucked than a monopoly.
@@badladyami Making all talent over priced is bad for everyone
Meltzer digging himself into another hole he can’t seem to understand how it popped up. That’s just another Wednesday.
Anyone see what Mike Johnson wrote about Dave? He ripped him to shreds LOL
Have you got a link to that?
Where can i read that please
Meltzer: I must defend the honour of fair Tony at every opportunity.
Khan: Dave, please stop. You're making me look bad.
Weirdest white knight crusade this side of Trumpsters defending fornicating kids.
For clarity, I'm referring to Dave.
More realistically he would be fearing for his life.
Love how Jim doesn't even care that he wasn't mentioned for donating.. He cares way more about his former freind disrespecting his friends family
Travis, this artwork may be your finest yet. Absolutely awesome😂
lol, really?
Travis Heckel hits it out of the park with this thumbnail ! Keep him on the podcast!
Muck Feltzer!
Dutch?
Mad?
No, no, no ,no.
He just wanted to slap the taste out of Uncle Dave's mouth. 😁🤣
Just like Dirty Dutch said, some things just need a good, hard slap - and Dementia Dave might need several
I imagine the lead-up to that slap going like that segment where he fires Cornette lmao.
"Dave, you don't drink, do drugs or anything like that, do ya?"
Travis is a national treasure.
Well done Jim and Stacey for donating 5k.
The Russo around the calves is a really nice touch. A1 illustration once again.
Here we fucking GO buddy. Been waiting for this.
Ohhhhh i was waiting for this one. Dave, prepare for a real ass chewing.
“Here we are years later, it’s probably tough to realise that The Young Bucks don’t mean a FUCKIN’ thing!” 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
As someone who wasn't familiar with their work before Aew I was very interested in what they can do, But goddamn it's been such a let down
No one has done more to damage the mystique of wrestling than Dave Meltzer.
@Rjensen2 I'm not pissy. I was stating my opinion, if you can't debate like an adult and have to leap to Dave's defence, maybe you're the pissy one.
@@averylargecrow The truth hurts, doesn't it?
Just look at how you replied.
Seek professional help.
Next AEW show, the crowd should do the dual chants of, "Fuck you, Meltzer!" and "Get well, Dutch!"
To help, the cadence would be in the style of fuck you Cena, Cena sucks which we all know and love.
Sadly, you know almost all of the 2,200 in attendance will be on DAVE'S side.
All twenty-seven of them?
"If you always do what you always did, then you always get what you always got" great words
I’ve disagreed with Dave’s takes for a long time but this is the first time he’s gotten this low, that I can remember. It’s one thing to have bad takes defending AEW, but to use the health of Dutch as a segway into these takes is just low and gross.
I’m sure that even when Unlce Dave is on his deathbed he’ll remind us of how great Aew is and has been doing.
The moment we've been waiting for 😊
Been waiktng on this all week. Just got in from work. Just got a cheese steak and some mozzarella sticks. Bout to enjoy this.
If AEW filled the arena with poison gas, Meltzer would give it 5 stars and say "it was the best air i ever did breathe"
Love when Corny pulls out the UK slang 👌💯
Just checked the Gofundme, Unless Dave donated anonymously, he didn’t donate to Dutch. So who is to question when he hasn’t done it himself. Considering without wrestlers Dave wouldn’t have a bad newsletter to spew.
Insane how Tony or WWE as rich as they are didn’t cover the bills in good faith out of how much Dutch has done in the wrestling business
@4:30 Tony listens to him so much that Dave takes it as a criticism of himself when AEW is criticized.
Travis outdid himself with the artwork on this one LOL
This was the most anticipated clip from Corny
Just wondering, if Dirty Dutch slaps him in Florida will we hear it in Kentucky? I'm hoping for a sonic boom that cracks windows and sets off car alarms. LOL
Nah, see that's what happens when Danny hodge and Gene Anderson shake hands. LOL
The ART / ILLUSTRATION for this is ❤😂 just....BANG, ❤😅
I hope Corny talks about the go cart race he had with Macho Man - its on the Macho Man Mixtape posted by WWE Vault.
Sweet, three hours! Looking forward to watching this.
I've been waiting for this for Jim and Brian's take on this issue
Dave legitimately thinks he's Locutus of the Dubbalos.
Now, we wait for Jim's reaction to Dutch's reaction, complete with offer to slap the dogshit out of Dave on his behalf.
I cant believe people pay for Meltzer's writing at this point. That article sounds like an average wrestling reddit post.....
Finally! How many people have been waiting for this?
Much tamer reaction than I was expecting .
How about a Gag Order on Meltz. 🤔
Don't ever change Jim you are awesome, thank you for being yourself
This isn't about personal preferences in wrestling, it's about something more important
Dave will always double-down on Stupid to keep from admitting he's wrong
Huge respect for Jim donating 5k and well done to everyone who donated to Dutch.
Dave really ruined himself with this imo🎉
The point was that Meltzer busted on Dutch for being "ungrateful " to Tony, accepting TK's donation but still critical of him
Would love jim's take on dave's WWE in the tokyo dome blunder😂
Anyone who still sees Uncle Dave as a credible source for news, need to get their collective heads checked.
One could say that Meltzer face-planted into dog shit with this one.
My brain read that as "face-painted in dogshit" on the first read. Both accurate. 🤣
Dave should be ignored
i was expecting "lets start with a man thats very ill... dave meltzer"
What defense is uncle Dave gonna say now for his inexcusable remarks?
I assume he's going to call his critics ignorant and tells them that
"he studied these things"
"reading would be your friend"
"study cagematch and come back to me"
i was more hype waiting for this than Tyson Paul to night
That thumbnail
Saw the notification and said ‘hooboy, here we go..’ out loud
According to the executives at TBS they agree that Dave is an out of touch old man.
Tony Khan needs to "listen" to the falling ratings and declining ticket sales. What AEW has been doing just isn't working.
"how dare you speak bad about my boyfriend" -Dave Meltzer
Very tame to be honest. Has Jims fire gone out? Dave got away with one here.
Cornette almost always pulls his punches when it comes to Meltzer unless Meltzer is badmouthing him specifically.
I think this is the first time everyone made the fire before Cornette. Also, he is condescending on his tone with Meltzer, like speaking about a special kid.
It's kind of like bullying the special kid at this point.
Cornette might be legit thinking Meltzer's mind is going at this point, and yelling at a dementia patient is just a pointlessly cruel endeavor.
@@RandalfElVikingo That's how his videos about Dave typically are. The tone is "What's that wacky old Uncle Dave up to this time?". The only time I can recall Cornette actually going in hard on Dave was that time years ago when Dave was regularly bashing him in the Observer, on Twitter, and on his forum, while also sending him friendly e-mails in private acting like nothing had ever happened.
Stop calling AEW competition to WWE, AEW is in no way competition to WWE. Municipalities are not changing traffic patterns because Full Gear sold 1000 tickets at the arena, they do however do that when WrestleMania, SummerSlam or The Royal Rumble come to town. AEW is not competing with WWE on scale imaginable.
