Realy great build and some nice outside of the box thinking on this one. Love the way the skull came out.
By the way, for anyone wanting to read the short story The Haunted Spacesuit, Arthur C. Clarke reworked that story and renamed it "Who's There", which might be a little easier to find.

Hi Lou, fantastic and imaginative build. Screams 50's sci-fiction; and thanks for opening my eyes to The Haunted Spacesuit by Clarke. I was under the impression that I had read all his short stories and now I find that a lost treasure has been unearthed thanks to you. Time to go and read.

Love the Bob Ross attitude about the paint coming off

That's super creepy and uncomfortable! That worm-thing got into the spacesuit through the speaker hole and that astronaut would have been trapped, unable to move to defend himself!

Great build as always. Nice save going “off script.” And not to be glib, but it does help us novice builders know that the masters have hurdles to overcome now and again. Not that you ever hide it. Difference is, you shrug and calmly say, drop back and punt. I’d spend two hours cussing and contemplating my life’s choices. 😅

That paint damage looks like you *planned* it Lou, the smoke smudge sets it off perfectly. Ol’ Bernie should have a place of honor next to your movie monsters since you so successfully re-themed him as Space Horror.

M.M. Mason, there's a blast from the past... your build reminds me of a book I bought purely for the cover - 'Inherit the Stars' by James P.Hogan - I suppose I really should read it now.
Nice build on your 'happy accident' Astronaut

That paint damaged couldn't have looked any better had you tried to achieve it like that.
Such a wonderful and goofy space suit. Great job, looking forward to next week's build. Happy weekend 🖖😉

I was going to recommend red 5 for the number, and turn the satellite into nomad. Great video, as always. Keep it up. The damage would've explained the dead dude.

I was kinda bummed when I saw the title screen as I am meh on this kit, but wow you made it so fun I am considering an ‘homage’ build! Super fun thanks!

Great build, Lou. I didn't even see the little worm guy on the pictures I saw of it. I like how you used him and changed the theme of the model into a more horror element. Just like diving, use the buddy system!
Oh, and don't put a massive speaker on the front of your hard suit that something can crawl into!
If you run into the problem with the wrong color blinking LED again, you can do this... Use the blinking one in line with the correct color LED like it's a resistor (wired in series). When the blinking one cuts off and on, it will make the other LED blink too. Then you just hide the wrong color LED in whatever manor works for the kit. It's good you had the circuit board on hand, but this is another option in your toolbox.

“So big and so wide,” eh? Sounds like you’re talking about my wife. Heeeeeeeyooo, I’ll be here all week, folks! Unless my wife finds out I said that.
Lou, you’re quite the gemato…geomacoph…math guy, to be able to figure out all of the arc stuff and such on your masks. Very impressive! 👍 ❤

"...paint it in such a way that it doesn't look anatomical." 🤣 Lou, you crack me up! Very imaginative build, congrats! I admire your creativeness. I'm in the final steps of my own build and was curious to see how you handled the lettering on the plaque. But... you didn't do the plaque. Anyway, off to paint the satellite!

"The world's most impractical space suit." Check out the British Interplanetary Society's idea for a moon suit. It actually looks like a combo of a steampunk Boba Fett and a medieval knight.

I got the Callisto action figure. I got one back in the day for Christmas. It got broke and lost. So I got a few years back. As for the Zeroids? I now have the first three original Zeroids that are fully working. Can't wait to get my hands on this model.

Love the haunted aspect, very nice. Then there's the New Dimension of Terror, the worm... A creature of necessity but well handled. Our unlucky astronaut could just as well have died from terminal chafing syndrome. Two yards' walk will do it. Your "pants" solution really showed what an odd flaw in thinking this kit had. Never mind the lack of air tanks or rebreathers-- the instrumentation is too simple as indicated. Ah well. I believe it was intended as a show piece. Even in the Gemini era, note how large the viewing area was, to show the happy-go-lucky astronaut doing his thing.
So this suit was a nice, evocative PR piece back in the day. This was done before the Apollo era PLSS was conceived (so your battery pack works just fine). One thing about space suits not really widely known, is that there's an internal spring-loaded connection between the two arms and a central plate-- otherwise a suit would blow up like Stretch Armstrong and stay that way. The astronauts still complained it was like doing an endless push-up once pressurized. And also explains the funny hopping gait as they bounded around.
The lighting is terrific, yeah, sure, head tilted back-- no need, looks great. Too bad about the blinker but all's well in the end. Just a neat build.

Always wondered. Is there a name for this type of Sci-Fi stylization? Brings to mind Tom Swift, Johnny Quest, Space Angel, 1950's Disney and 1960's Italian Sci-Fi movies.

Hi Lou. This is an odd build. Perhaps it should be flagged as mature audiences only (Crotch window, butt window, suspenders, "really good with his tongue", anatomical worm)! I can see where you are coming from with the theme - Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead is my absolute favourite story from the "New Who" era. You certainly managed to make lemonade out of that lemon - I have to admire the way you made something fun and different out of a big disappointment 👏. I feel that you could have "greeblied up" the back pack a bit more (as Phil has a liking for) but maybe the smooth, clean aesthetic fits better with the suit. I'm a bit late to this party as I have had a busy few days, but as always I am looking forward to the next video 👍😁
