Hi Lou, I saw the reveal on Waynes channel on July 4th. All 3 entries were really good. On a sad note I am sure you know Boyd from Trekworks. I just learned today that he passed away some time around the 4th. I suscribed to his channel and yours around the same time and always looked forward to see his models along with yours. So sad his never recovered from the cancer he had. I had that same Making of Star Trek that you had. I became a fan of ST in 75 when I was 12.

Such an excellent job, Lou, it looks exactly like the picture! I love seeing Bruce’s teeth through the bottom.

    Shades of Mr. Compressor!
I, too, had one of those “Making of” books, but I didn’t read it, I just looked at the pictures. This allowed a friend of mine, a famous liar, to convince me that one of them showed an actual shark attack. Then I read into it, and discovered that it was part of the footage. Do they even make books like that anymore? Do kids even read anymore?
This came out very well, and you nailed the east coast murk. Bruce has been done proud.

Lou, your pose of Bruce would make a great “Best of Intentions” trophy for a contest.

There must be an award that is given for peeps who use resin for the first time. Also should be an award for completed 1/350 Enterprise builds lol. That is totally superman crystal material 😂

I don't know how you did it but your build somehow makes "Bruce" a little less scary. Great Job!

I think I'm gonna get me one'a those weight-o-grams. Probably just what I've been missing! Well, old comrade-- I could feel your heart in your mouth from out here-- that first pour was almost E-Z. Even when needing to smash things to pieces in order to get it right for #2, pretty reassuring. And the first, um next one; swell. But the knee-knocker, the nail-biter was immersing your labor-intensive, relatively expensive model in an unmovable object... yeesh. So this is when model-making is more like lion taming. Just how does one practice lion taming? Same sort of approach as clear resin pouring! Great original model, by the way-- and a very nice concept well done!
Would'a loved to have seen the mold removal.

Lou, I'm not sure if you'd want to do this, but you could brush on some gloss clear on the sides to hide some of the more "scratched up" areas of the resin to give the carved water shaping a more wet, watery look. Loved the build!

@@matthewharroun8618 I sprayed gloss clear on it, but that only did so much.

The accidental bubbles are a nice touch. I imagine that there were a lot generated when Bruce made unplanned headstands like that. Great job Lou.

I have or had both of those Jaws books back in '75, the image you recreated was always one of my favourites, along with the one of the euro's face being scrubbed clean by someone in a rubber dinghy, absolutely love how this came out, can't wait to see Phil and Wayne's builds!

What a kool subject. I love these prop builds, the Star Trek set was a fan fav. Box light base would be kidna neat. You could even make a tunnel around his face so you could see it through the bottom...Great work Lou!!!!

gotta disagree. the water is fairly flat. no big swells or waves. the hoses could be duller, but they were fairly colorful in the color refs i had.
