Amazing song! I grew up on heavy metal from the 80's, but occasionally latch on to a country song. Alabama did an amazing cover of this song, and made it popular in the early 90"s, but this guy..... What an amazing song that he shared with the world! Gone at 48....way too young. Thanks, Randy!

4:00 am, been drinkin and jammin country, wanted to hear Randy Vanwarmer’s, Just when i needed you most; has been a favorite of mine ever since I saw Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols cover it beautifully on his IG page. Went on a Vanwarmer binge tonight n discovered he wrote songs for some of my favorite country artists, n here I am. I am today years old that I discovered he wrote this song!
Miss you so much, Angel Randy...you were an angelic singer and had so much more music to give us....but I guess you are singing with the Heavenly Choir now. RIP, we will not let you be forgotten. Cheri B.

Phenomenal! The falsetto on the break is sweet perfection.
A vastly different version to the one we're used to. Though one could say it's the original. It's nice work, and I like it.
