Assassin's Creed Valhalla Main Theme | Sarah Schachner, Jesper Kyd (feat. Einar Selvik)

- Check out the premiere of the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla main theme.
Composed by Sarah Schachner and Jesper Kyd (featuring Einar Selvik).
Performed, produced, arranged and recorded by Sarah Schachner.
Turn on your headphones and turn up the music, Assassins!
The theme carries the weight of protagonist Eivor’s personal conflicts and overarching journey throughout the game. What feelings were you trying to inspire and evoke with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Main Theme?
Sarah Schachner: We wanted the atmosphere of the theme to instantly transport the listener to another time and place, filled with mystery and uncertainty. There are Norse instruments, but they are used in a more modern way. The theme represents Eivor’s journey, as well as the Vikings’ hope for a better life as they move further south into the Anglo-Saxon regions [of England].
Jesper Kyd: We wanted to evoke Eivor's journey, what drives her, and the bond she has with her family. Eivor is searching for something, and this longing to find it and resolve it is a key element reflected in the melody and mood ideas I contributed to the theme.
Einar Selvik: The hope was to make something that reflected or created an overall arc of the theme of the game. The game is set in such dramatic times, and so the emotional aspect of it is something I wanted to elevate with my contributions. Generally, I think it made a lot of sense to bring all the game´s composers together for such a central piece, allowing the song to further reflect the different expressions the players will encounter throughout the game.

Lol the game got incredibly snubbed for narrative and soundtrack
It sounds like victory, but at a great cost.
The constant drum and grunts of men sounds like the row of oars in percect synch. On top of the swelling and falling of the melody like the waves beneath a boat.
The part with the vocals (same guy who sang for the show Vikings, btw) peaks the feeling of loss, pain, and sorrow. After that, the music swells.. the men get louder and more hungry for war with a stronger will to fight.. Not because they are fearless but because they fear to feel anymore loss in their souls.
Good observation

Well studied history value, architectural design to the finest details. Well, I prefer legend of the eagle bearer myself but this is pretty great too.
2:16 to 2:20 that note that kept rising was absolutely beautiful, this song makes me feel so connected to my ancestors it’s amazing what music can do
This song evokes the middle of the story for me. Sigurd is gone, Eivor is desperate to find him while also managing her duties at Ravensthorpe and making allies. Fighting Dag and then finally ending Fulke and realizing that she is Odin and Special. God I love Eivor Varinsdottir She's so badass.
What is that instrument? The one that creeps in? I absolutely love that sound
The Seer: “The gods are here. They’re watching.”
Odin is with us, he’s patiently waiting for the 17th of November
Dean Brownlie And why exactly is he waiting for November 17th?
@@zegpath81 lol

@@Dangerboy796 Odin must be having fun
This needs to win best soundtrack on goty
@@abnormalguy6269 Nah it won't, it's an AMAZING soundtrack that gets your adrenaline pumping but Mick Gordan didn't finish it because of the game developers and so it's a bit shorter than most game soundtracks now a days. But who knows, it's still got a good chance
Nah Ghost of Tsushima deserves iy
@@abnormalguy6269 No, really. Ghost of Tsushima have really big chances to win the best soundtrack award.
@@PopcornStange I really just enjoy two track of ghost of tsushima but every track that drop from valhalla really get my attention
Nope, Ghost of Tsushima is more better than this.
There are no words strong enough to explain where this masterpiece transported me
Probably one of the best songs from an assassins creed game, the horn in the beginning hits so well
The quality is on the highest peak. More atmospheric than instrumental but it sounds so great. It just grabs and takes you to a whole different realm. Good job!!!
I feel like this theme is going to be nostalgic as we age older through the years. Becoming more and more vulnerable to whatever throws of sorrows we ever contain. In the life we pursue. We will never be afraid!!!
This theme still gives me chills! Literally my favorite theme from the entire franchise.
A lot of people hate the most recent games because it isn’t like traditional ac games and i mostly agree but I love this game so much
It's just the diehard AC fans really. I've played both the older and new AC games and love both. But the RPG-style ones, especially Valhalla, sold more than any other game in the series
