After riding an old clunker bike 1000k’s across Spain and loving it, I want to do it all over again but with a much better bike. I’ve been researching like crazy what I will buy, and have been watching your videos for reference. You’re so knowledgeable, could I ask you some questions? I know I would like a folding bike with 20 inch wheels, carbon belt drive, and internal gears (I have my eyes on one from Tern). How come most folding bikes don’t come with those features? If I have to do a river crossing, is it a problem if the internal gears are submerged? Thanks so much! Would love to hear from you, Abby
High quality batteries like Stromer batteries can perform in below freezing conditions. You may see a decrease in range if you ride below freezing, but as long as the battery gets removed from the bike and kept in moderate temperatures for charging, you shouldn't have any problems.
Hey guys I need a little help, actually a lot of help. there's a lot of misinformation out here on what's going on in the e-bike world. I haven't ridden a bike in about 20-30 years I live on a very big mountain that's probably about a 13% 14% grade for 1 mi. I wouldn't be able to peddle up the hill so I'm looking for a motor and battery that would make it up without me pedaling it all. Obviously going down the hill and running around would be great but coming back home and trying to make it up that hill is impossible. Our high school uses it to train the kids and the kids usually don't even make it. Thank you for any support that you give in advance. But what I'd like to know is what motor and battery would be the best to make it up the hill and can I put it in a regular mountain bike not a fat tire bike. And I would like it to be a rear gear hub if possible.
There is a reason the industry is moving away from hub motors. I have a Stromer. 1000 miles in and the motor burnt up. IF you live in the US - Stromer is hard to get ahold of and not eager to warranty these. Call your local dealer and ask how long the wait time is on a motor for one of these and you'll find they are on backorder, because they can't keep up with how fast they are burning up. Learn from my mistake, go with a mid drive, Bosch or Yamaha - Stromer is amateur.
Sad that NYCeWheels has closed down since 2020.

There is nothing wrong with hub motors. What's crazy is the ridiculous price for a Stromer bicycle.
