The funny thing is that Gill's entire design was based around this. SF3's engine was the first to be able to render different sprites for which side a character is facing, so Capcom designed Gill to to be distinctly asymmetrical to show off.

Notice that the sprites are mirrored like normal (he attacks with his left on one side, right on the other). The only things that are different are his colors are switched and the effects added to his attacks are either fire or ice.

SFV Gill is a Gill that didn’t have his full potential realized yet and his influence completely spread, he likely gained a lot of strength between SFV and SFIII
