Thanks Gary! I want just a point of contact. I don't want the exposed face contacting my part. In my opinion the face is way more of a contact area then I need and its harder to keep clean. So a 1/8 dia dowel is the perfect blunt point with a minimal contact surface to engage with the part, and since it sticks out just a bit its a breeze to clean. Any time you use any type of work stop you want the point of contact to be small. They are easier to keep clean and its more precise then a broad surface.
ok that makes perfect sense. cool little mill vice stop for sure. Do you watch Collin at Compxedge? he makes a mill stop that uses the t slots thats pretty cool.

Thanks Greg!
Made one of these many years ago but mine has hidden springs, try that for a little fun project.
I noticed you are only tightening one side of the chuck. Is it really necessary to tighten all three sides or just one.
Just one.
On a drill chuck, just one.
Awesome, very cool! What were the pins you put on the ends with the loctite?

I like a good jaw stop. Secure and reliable.

Thanks Tony
The only useful part of this video was the 3 second at the end where the stop was shown. The rest was vague “entertainment”.
