Hiya Pete! Couldn't agree more! It's impressive how this young microbrand has developed. The og was a nice watch but I was fully convinced by the drab finish. This new version is an amazing watch, as you say elevated a lot in many aspects. Overall a very tasteful watch, not to mention the hugely upgraded movement.
Thx Pete for pointing this watch out...infact I'm looking for an affordable Explorer style watch and so far consider the PRS-25 everest as the best offer. Therefore would appreciate if RZE would consider a 36 or 37mm version. I also noticed that some markers are missalined....hope they QC will sort that out during production...
Beautiful looking model. This little brand is really doing great. I love the dial, very 3 dimensional and great specs with a nice movement, good lume, and I have to say the initial side by side shot had me wondering the choice of Arabic numerals. I am a great supporter OF Travis & his team @ RZE. I have a couple of their watch designs , save the first resolute of which i'm hoping to one day get the Red ( yeah, I know..keep hoping). I have the Yellow Endeavour with date @3 with an uprated NE15C (50 hour reserve). I have the truly beautiful Turbo Teal Fortitude. I have a pre order in for the Pink resolute 2 & am ordering the outstanding Titanium Compressor as soon as its released for pre Sale. LOVE the designs. Love the colours! LOVE RZE!!! I have 2 RZE watches to date and I enjoy them both very much. My Resolute is the very 1st production batch, with the REISE words printed at 12 o'clock instead of the "R" logo. I wore my Valour for over 2 months, without taking it off (even when I shower). Both watches are really well made and wears really well. However, prices for the new models are creeping up, which is a slight negative. Production costs are rising and it is affected by many factors, which is understandable. For now, I'll just enjoy my 2 RZEs and until some spare cash is available, I'll just be watching your reviews on UA-cam and liking your videos 👍
There is definitely an "Explorer craze" happening in the market. Personally I disagree with the finish, I really love the bead blasted finish on that titanium, and still planning on getting the No-Date version of your RZE dive watch with yellow dial. Now there's a no-date field watch option....
I love this upgrade. Like you said it has a quality feeling to it that the original didn't have (I have this same Arctic Grey version of the Resolute). However, I feel that the "negative space" you talk about is a big, big plus in my eyes b/c I LOVE the legibility it provides. I must say that I love their Pilot watch b/c of the legibility (Fortitude), I guess it's kind of "my thing". Thanks for sharing.
Love the angular case design and the new bracelet finish is a real plus! I'm kinda thinking you might go for the yellow dial Pete? If they did a date window not sure where they would put it with the numerals on there now? Love the watch. Great video...as always Pete!

I really like my Endeavor (also in yellow), and this one is tempting! I agree about the finishing - this looks sharper than the sand blasted look. The only minor complaint is their choice of clasp. It's objectively good, but I have three watches with that clasp. I'm bored with it! But RZE executed it well. Looking forward to the seeing the additional color choices!
I actually like the bigger looking dial. This is the perfect daily wear in my opinion. My name is now on their waitlist. Thanks for the heads up Peter.
Mr Kotsa, thank you for this review. I actually signed up for its release in June. First time I ever did this. The main reason is it's the first time a (micro)brand did exactly what I hoped for (and have been whining about on more than one watch channel:-) : They got rid of the date, which imho breaks the symmetry of the dial - if they do release a date version in this second iteration, I hope they have moved it to the six - and they upgraded the movement. Contrary to Axios they didn't stick to the NH-35 with a ghost date. Some one urgently needs to do a documentary on those young 'watch entrepreneurs' in Singapore. Looks to me things are really moving there: RZE, Axios, Zelos: They all have great designs, especially the cases and dimensions. Although inspired by the past they succeed to release original watches with reliable inner workings at an acceptable price. As an engineer I can appreciate that. RZE also has a representative in Europe, located in Berlin: Mick Jorgensen: Super reactive this human is :-). As you may know or not know import taxes on stuff from out of the EU have gone up significantly (exuberantly is more accurate, if that's a word) only recently. So no more surprise letters from customs asking you to pay again for something you thought you'd paid already. Any question sent to this guy gets answered within 24 hours. I mean: how well organized can you be as a brand? Well, it takes a micro brand I guess. Thanks again for this sneak peek!

I liked the original very much. I think the design was also a bit more unique. And that grey matched the bit blasted look perfectly. I agree, the finish on the new one is more elegant. I'd pick the green. Only thing I disagree is that to me the bezel/dial balance is just about perfect. Thanks for the video. Really enjoyed it.
Good looking watch. I like it-and like the pictures ice. Size, wear and bracelet reminds me of Yema’s Marine Nationale. Look forward to seeing the other colors, particularly yellow and white. Kinda reminds me on f small Planet Ocean too.
I saw the white dial version of the new version. I kind of like this fume grey dial more. RZE make sure good watches. Like the angles in their designs and the build quality seems pretty high for their prices.
As an owner of the initial model, I'm happy to say I wouldn't want to upgrade. 3 reasons: 1. I love the bead blasted look, it looks tough and unique; 2. The arabics don't work for me, especially with the thin hands, something is off; 3. I love a date window, use that a lot. Still, kudos to RZE, one of my favorite microbrands ♥️
Recently, mucrobrands seem to be releasing their explorer..ing inspired designs(?). Possible changes to make it better? Smaller dial to 38 ( although height is now reduced & how does it wear on wrist?); adding anti - magnetism- their Fortitude model has this but it's a less versatile style & $$ more ; I have a desire for a teal dial , which the previous model had ( which alone nearly nudged me into obtaining the Fortitude. Maybe, I'll keep on waiting?
overall it is nice upgrades on resolute, however i also agree that the dial composition is kinda off. I also think that the brushed finishing while gives a more elegant look, it should be combined with polished sides, while the full bead blasted finish works very well on the previous version of resolute
The new finishing looks fantastic. I own both the full lume arctic white and the blue on the bracelet like yours and they’ve both been high in rotation for the last year. Excellent watches and the original dull finish has held up perfectly. If they release an endeavour no date with these updates I’d be all over it. Thanks Peter

Nice review peter, i would consider this one but recently got a boldr venture sw edition with a beautiful blue gradient dial , with a very subtle date window, given the choice i would still go fir the boldr.

This was a bit of a let down for me. I really liked the old Resolute. I think it had a more unique look and some personality. Now, it looks like so many other microbrands. I think ditching the bi-colored baton style indecies was a bad move. I would have rather seen an upscale in the movement with the same great dial layout and a few new colors.
I was wishing they would make this watch slightly smaller in case diameter, it is a dial only watch, and as you mention, there is too much empty space on that dial. Rest seems ok.
New to watches but I was really interested in picking up an RZE. Too bad the reds of the original were so popular 🤣 Aswell as the fact that their current 2022 options don't include a red one so Im sad about that.
Peter you say it sits nicely! That’s subjective! I think it looks too small! Just my opinion. I have a average 7 1/4 wrist and under 41 looks tiny to me. I know you like very light weight small watches but I feel I need to chime in for the guys that need something slightly larger. I believe the watch makers read your comments.

I love almost everything... I just hate that they have no date option. An everyday watch like that would be perfect with a date. If they release a date version I'll be adding one to my collection.
I have an older alpine white and it's a good watch but complicated. I like the look a lot (although dispite the name the dial is fairly gray), weight is great, and it's very accurate. But at night it's a completely different story, the lume is terrible. The two tone indices/face looks great on a fresh charge but after about an hour is a blurry mess.
I don't like how they turned this into another explorer with the Arabic numerals. Maybe use the triangle and use thicker batons at the 3,6 and 9. I liked the older version better and the lower price too, understandably using a better movement cost more but I wouldn't have minded if they kept the Seiko NH movement. Should have just removed the date from the old version with an NH38 movement.
This is as good as it gets for this style for this price IMHO. They look to have really optimised the design and I for one would be a huge fan. The watchonistas will identify it as being very derivative but the watches it takes cues from won't be used as hard as this one could be for the price. The date window is not going to be missed on this Explorer format dial. Nice review Peter - really hard to critical of this one other than on taste alone. The colours will be interesting to see.
The new prototype you handled has a bunch of alignment problems - the applied indices are not aligned to the dots on the minute track. Nice looking upgrade otherwise.

Yeah, I'm more a fan of the original indices. The Arabics just don't work for me. I also like these watches on rubber straps. The sailcloth is ok, but a titanium watch on a silicone or rubber strap is like wearing nothing. The new titanium finish looks great with the bracelet, but I like the original bead blast look on my silicone strap. But you can't go wrong with these RZE watches...

I think if they made the grey fumé to a deeper much darker grey it would help that dial. Otherwise very nice watch.

The no date dial is a good move. Personally i enjoy the negative space if the dial is as nice as this one's design. Explorerish

I love that watch, the only think I would change is the second hand as the lume circle is doing nothing. An arrow would have been better
If I redesigned the watch , I would use lume circles instead of bars for the markers.

Yeah, I'm more a fan of the original indices. The Arabics just don't work for me. I also like these watches on rubber straps. The sailcloth is ok, but a titanium watch on a silicone or rubber strap is like wearing nothing. The new titanium finish looks great with the bracelet, but I like the original bead blast look on my silicone strap. But you can't go wrong with these RZE watches...
