I’m new to Hoya craze and already obsessed. I have a few and recently joined Palmstreet to get more cause they don’t have anything around me. Waiting for 3 in the mail ;) So nice to see the progress, great video!!
Nice Hoya recap video. In high plains, some of my oldest are 5 years old and I agree that potting up for other reasons than pests or bad soil is not advisable. If you think you need to pot up then only slightly or just reposition plant in original container. Also, agree with letting hoyas root out longer before potting up as they do come out of their pots if roots too short. Jumping Hoyas! Hoyas are still my favourite plants!
The waytii I’ve been through 2 now and I’m on my third one. They grow but then all of a sudden they go the wrong direction. But I love it and I’m learning to understand it.
At 41:01 while showing us the Crimson Princess I see a Peduncle with flowers starting!! You probably knew, I was just like, wait, show us! Haha. I love the flowers. Even when on someone else’s plants! I too was like you. I didn’t think I would EVER like Hoyas. Then, the bug hit me! I do start with the 2-3 leaf cuttings for most of mine. I think I am up to 70’ish. Maybe even close to 80. I need to count. Haha. They are like an addiction. That’s for sure. I so have a handful of larger plants, and they are so, so fun. Thanks for showing us your collection! PS. Love my Rebecca. She sun stresses BEAUTIFULLY! And she has been super fast for me. She is a keeper! I don’t know about the NAP 016. But I do love my Memoria and my Rosita! They are both Beautiful and sun stress gorgeous. Never heard of the 3rd one. I don’t have the Kenejiana, but it looks pretty and I’ve heard they are gorgeous. Plus You like it. Keep it. If it were me, I’d keep that Rebecca and the NAP 016-the second one! (And the Kenejiana-since I don’t have it!) HAHA 😂😂😂
Not sure if you remember me asking you about wiping leaves and getting a cigarette smoke yellow/orange colour off onto my rag but I am like 99.9% sure that it is flat mites. I see damage on plants and still wipe them down and will find that... yesterday out of sheer laziness I wiped down my giant regal shield alocasia with an unscented babywipe and got a ton of that colour again. For me, it seems to effect my alocasias most. For example that same alocasia has been up against my fiddle leaf fig for a year and the fiddle leaf fig doesn't get that... it's very interesting. My reason for thinking it's flat mites is bc when you google flatmites they are an orangey colour and I'm not getting webbing or having any other signs of pests (knock on wood). I do have a miticide that helps but I don't want to overuse it and make them immune so occasionally I switch it up with peroxide or rubbing alcohol or a baby wipe... It's interesting!!!
Your hoyas are beauteous; thanks for showing them today, Drea. Question for you: I understand the concept of evergreen perennials spending their first year establishing roots, etc. but I'm still unclear about an appropriate nutrition regimen as they mature. No matter their stage, are you always feeding w/a balanced NPK? (I searched the transcript to see if you covered this but I might have missed it ... sorry.)
The Curtisii reminds me of a child's spinning top. But I'm old enuff 2 have had one as a child & loved it. But, yeah, 4 me it looks like a spinning top. 🤎 ur channel❣
Hi. Really enjoy watching your videos. You’re plants are amazing and beautiful. I’ve watch your soil mix video and was curious what brand of orchid mix you add to your substrate. Do you still use foxfarm ocean blend? Thanks. Lise
I’ve only had one Hoya to flower and I hadn’t had it as long as some others. My hoya krohniana super silver kept flowering. I have yet to see any on my others.
Let me know if there’s a way to send you a photo so you can identify my Hoya. you have so much knowledge and I would love a couple of tips on my plant❤
I have hoya pubicalyx, parasitica black margin and australis and australis lisa (i put both in one pot to save space). They have all been in self watering with a wick now starting with my pubicalyx (who I just switched to a normal pot bc of her weight tipping her), and man they have all grown HUGE my pubicalyx is 5 feetish long but multiple vines so if you spread her out she goes about ten feet and is SOOO heavy I have no clue what to do with her... obviously a trellis is dwarfed by this and the weight of the leaves makes it want to tip. The Australis pot has a trellis and it's okay for now but that's my newest one and was very tiny and now its filling out, and my black margin is neglected and I have no real clue what she is doing because she hides under all my calatheas but she def seems happy with the self-watering. I will say that I haven't got any flowers yet but I think I only got my first hoya a year ago so I am not really expecting it at this point esp since I did have to repot them all. I know it was a big scary to toss them in self-watering but they were thirsty ALL THE TIME. Once I figure out my pubicalyx I will likely put it back into self-watering bc it did sooo well. I was shocked bc everyone says hoya grows slow but going from like 4 leaves on two vines to being like 10 pounds in a 4 inch pot tells me that whatever I am doing has been right for mine specifically! Perhaps I should consider leaving it out of self-watering if it will slow the growth a little bit? hmmm
I been dealing with mealybugs on all my Hindu. Every treat is them I tried all different things. I have one that’s been plus 4 yrs and never bloom. I’m ready to put them outside and let them be instead of throwing it away.
Ha! I’m in the same predicament with my linearis. Not such a bad one to be in. The eventually will produce peduncles further up on the vine. But, i know what you mean. I can’t trim mine either. 😂💕🪴🌸

I love hoyas and yours are fabulous. Tfs, It's hard for me to pick a hoya because I love them all ❤❤❤

Lovely Hoya plants. SW London Uk ❤

Do your Hoyas grow better/faster due to your environment compared to places further north

Great video - thank you. Your Xanadu looks great 👍
The linearis looks like it has jelly fish instead of flowers hehehe I love it!!

My krimson princess also has some green leaves.

Are you on instagram or facebook and can send a pic over there?
I wasn’t that in to Hoya, then I saw the crassipetiolata splash.
In my experience, wayetti’s leaves curl up when thirsty. 😊
Hmm… as in they become more taco shell like?

I’m trying to send you a photo of my Hoya that I’ve had for four years and it has never bloomed but lots of vines😢
You often mention a plant app. What are you using
Planta app. I always say it but I think the a on the end gets missed and people think I’m just saying plant app lol
I love me some crusty feet Hoya lol
😂
Don't summon them!!! Spell their names! Flash it on the screen! DON'T SAY IT!!! lol
