I'm disabled and thought that was the end of my bushcraft/hammock hanging days, until i got the ebike. Im happy with 15mph, it gives me time to find more places to hang the hammock and its much quicker to find places that id normally find inaccessible. I have also added a trailer to the bike now too, allowing the weight to be taken from my back and shoulders. Although i still struggle to get out, the bike is there when i am able and at least it's given me the opportunity to get out occasionally. If the bike was travelling much faster, think of all the possible hangs we'd me missing 😂
Great video and a big thumbs up from me. Best wishes from Bromley, Kent
Go Richard!
Perfect,! ,mostly. 32:40 well done chap. I am looking forward to the similar in Florida. !
Good luck!
Great video. A fun adventure for sure. Also really happy to see my mate Ed getting his fine leatherwork out to good folks like yourself. I have one of his laplander sheaths. Happy camping and (assisted) pedal powered adventures.
Great video Richard! LOL at the teenager bedroom jab! I share your feelings about E-bikes. I am a cyclist so I am coming around to the pluses of the bikes for those who wish to cycle but need a little assistance. Looking forward to your next upload!
Nice vídeo
screw lets to brandon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stealth camping done properly, I would suggest though that you invest in some panniers 😅
Cracking camp there Richard. Thankfully I've learnt my lesson and ate a big meal before watching. Even so, that steak did look pretty damned good, although I thought it was a bit excessive having three tomatoes...
I'm a big fan of keeping it honest, warts and all on here. If I want 'perfect', there's multitudes of movies and TV for that. It's the realism that appeals in watching people on the 'tube enjoying the outdoors. Thanks for sharing. All the best, Pete.
Thanks!!
I don't understand what is wrong in peoples mind when they say they are against someone else riding a bike that they don't approve of. It's like me saying I don't like that you use a hammock, you damage the trees, crazy.
That's an awesome camp, man! My favorite part was def the tomahawk cooking!
U gotta try a carbon steel pan tho. Half the weight if not more! That tomahawk looks outrageous delicious! A little too thick for that specific cook, not after the recook, it was 👌👌👌
James Martin Doesn't even use that much butter 😂, usually put drop of Oil in , stops the Butter Burning , How you Cooked the Garlic is the Best way or Roasting , makes it more Sweeter
Steak looked Amazing 👍, good Vid Richard
Hi Richard
Great video
Don't know if you have new camera equipment.
The picture quality of you video is superb as is everything else.
See no reason for your subs not to keep going up prob just a small lull.
All the best.

I like the cammo net I will have too get some, I camp out in the world heritage Park near me, It's not Illegal but I Think your supposed too camp in the designated spots
So I suppose it is, Hence the Cammo net😮
Geez wish I could cook like that I would never leave lol
I use a carbon felt mat under my fire stove, you can get them any size, saves digging
And VERY light weight…
Very funny when you took a big bite of the steak and a cow mooed in the background! 😂
I’ll have to re listen!!
@@RichardOutdoors I initially thought it was a sound effect! 🤣
LOL. The cow was like "try and do that to me and see what happens!" 🤣
SHAKE AND BAKE IF YOU AINT FIRST YOUR LAST HAPPY 4TH OF JULY HOPE WORKS GOING WELL BROTHER ROFL
Great video as always. I've just bought a hammock set up. Hope I get on better with it. 🤞 wish me luck
Nice video, a classic keep it simple and chill. Do agree with the hammock and sleeping. I can see you swapping out kit for a more stealthy set up and having many fun trips. Such a shame about the stove/s.
You can make the suspension softer also air down the tires and you'd be comfy on bumpy roads. Those fat tires don't need a lot of air.
Nice trip and an amazing looking steak!
Thanks Kevin!
Great video Richard, made me smile when the cow went moo as you was eating your steak, It all looked lovely hope you enjoyed, look forward to the next one :-)
Didn’t notice that. Will look again!
Haha, same here 😆 was going to comment something about it needing a few more minutes on the grill because of the mooing! But man, i could actually feel the taste of that tomahawk, splendid!
What a great camp - delicious food and a beautiful day. Thanks!
not sure there was enough butter in that pan Richard, should have used the half of the block as well.🧈🧈🧈🧈
I did.
Go Richard!
Thanks Richard, enjoyed the video! Great to see you mixing it up with the bike ride. The more you can mix it up on these mini adventures the better. Swim in a river/lake? Stay near a victorian folly/historic place? All good, thank you again.
I now got some videos to watch on your channel… Ady
I enjoyed the video. Its been a while since I've been out and this video has deffo got my mojo going.
I totally loved this camp Richard, a wonderful variety of things going on, you put a lot of thought into what you do and how, plus I always love it when you're explaining stuff, such as putting your hammock up and knots etc, love things like that. Firebox is my fave looking twig stove, glad you got one. Please can you consider doing a collaboration with Simon, A Bloke in The Woods and Andy - Kent Survival, as you all now have E-bikes and reckon you'll all make an excellent camp / overnighter. Cheers Richard.
Thanks. Very kind words.
@@RichardOutdoors Very welcome, as always
As always it looked like some tasty meals. Thumbs up.
You got a new subscriber
ABSOLUTELY awesome channel I just found it very cool .Subbed and liked
Welcome aboard and thank you!
Now that was a piece of meat! Nice one again Richard and maybe Simon can lend you his Amok to see if you like it.
People either love or detest the Amok. The sleeper seems to be really exposed, in my opinion. I have a gathered end hammock with all the trimmings but , like you, have yet to have a good night's sleep. I've set it up in the garden in a private spot and get out there most days to relax with a book now that the weather is mild. I'm hoping i'll get more accustomed to it and eventually sleep will come easily. That honey is a great idea...gonna make some.
Great video, as always. Love it, warts 'n' all. There's lots of outdoor channels on YT, but yours has the most down to earth, WYSIWYG content and strikes a chord for a lot of us. It's my go-to. Thank you.
Thanks, Liam!
Well Richard I’m too old and big to sleep in a hammock anymore, when I was younger I loved it, anyway I’ve seen some of the other guys use an air mattress inside the hammock and it seems to be more comfortable that way, those other ones that let you sleep sideways look amazing, but anyway love your videos keep them coming I’m a big fan thank you!
The food looked great! Maybe try a longer gathered-end or bridge hammock for a more comfortable sleep.
Richard, so good to see you on the e-bike, carrying great kit, into those magnificent woods. I’m an old retired vet and my stealth camping is the result of my training, a bit different. WHAT A GREAT MEAL!!! Love the Fire Box. I have the Nano. What ever happened to the stove you invented? Yep, I like my steak cooked a bit longer too…LAL, live and learn, AHH, so good, heh, heh…Thanks from east Tennessee.
Thanks, you too!
I know how people on UA-cam are super critical of everything. I mean this comment to be only inquisitive and helpful. As a person with a decade of experience with stealth camping with a regular bike and as a person who is studying ebikepacking (I will be getting an ebike soon), it seems to me that you could have gotten off the ebike, put it in walk-mode, and taken the bike with you to just about anywhere (no need to leave it behind where there was any chance of people to finding it). As a master of camouflage myself, I do appreciate your camo skills, but I would be very nervous not having my bike with me.
Something else to think about: if you got rain, that dip where you stashed your bike could flood.
Thanks for the video and insight into how others do things.
I edited this comment because I thought of a trick that you might like. Your camo netting was a very good color for the situation, but camo netting is best for covering up the off colors of things in the woods, like bikes. Using that as your first layer, and then detritus from your surroundings elevates camo to invisible. In the circumstance of your bike laying down, camo netting is great at catching leaves. Your vid didn't show your full process, but you could have scattered leaves over the netting (gather the leaves away from where you use them so you don't leave marks that draw attention), and it would have been invisible.
For vertical netting applications, dead branches, especially when they have leaves still on them work great.
I commented before watching the whole vid, so hope I didn't suggest things you did.
The bike was fine where it was. You didn’t see the lie of the land between the bike resting place and my camp.
Great video.
We’ve been looking forward to your video all day, Mr O 😊… and to top it all we heard our names mentioned! We’re so glad you liked the hot honey - and yes - it’s a bit spicy! 🌶️🥵 Sorry 😅. See you on the next one… if not before xx S&D xx
The spicier the better! Xx
I will admit I raised me eyebrows at the e-bike, but you used it responsibly. 😅
Great steak, it looked luscious, cow mooed at the first bite 😂
Completely expected the hammock outcome.
Titanium stove, cast iron pan? A bit like a diet coke and a cream bun 😂
Mind you, cast iron was the only way to do the steak justice. 👍
Thanks my friend.
New subscriber here! Found your channel after I saw you in a video on the channel - 'Simon, a bloke in the woods'. Great channel, have watched a few of your videos so far and have enjoyed them very much.
Welcome aboard and thank you!
I always love your videos Richard. Thank you.
Thank you, Craig
Wow, a ribeye on wild camp. That's bold cooking Richard! I'm going to try that sooner or later. Thanks for posting. Grt, Henk
Well done on that camp bud enjoyed it look forward to the next one
Great video. I too struggle a bit with hammock camping. Its strange as I find them so comfortable. Who knows why. Keep the videos coming.
Another great video Richard and as ever some great cooking. I think it might be wise to retire the hammock I have never been fond of them, anyway keep the content coming as I love watching your channel .
No on the cooking it in butter for more than a few minutes since butter will burn in the pan and consequently taste horrible.
Wrong. It mixes with the natural oils which raises the critical temperature.
👍
Camo: lose the bright blue huggers, I have brown webbing ones, and use local materials to add to the net to garnish and blend it into the background. Try to break up horizontal lines as much as possible. Not many natural features in woodland create sharp horizontal lines. It's a fun part of being able to disappear into the surroundings. Fun camp and the bike looks great fun!
nice camo apart from the bright blue tree huggers 😄
I hope you know those fat tyres will will have next to no grip in wet mud
Thank you David.
I have been thinking about getting an e-bike. The hiking/backpacking/wild-camping is getting harder - I am 57.
I have a DD jungle hammock and I always sleep the sleep of the innocent when swinging from the trees.
This looks like bliss, to me... if you added a couple of beers.
Good point, although I don’t drink!
@@RichardOutdoors You have my respect and sympathy in equal measure.
Thought I detected a slight look of apprehension as your head turned whilst eating your steak, wondering if the cows were breaking through the fence to come and get you for eating one of their compatriots, I could almost hear the angry moo's 🐄as your dragged away screaming... or was that just a nightmare !! 😂
Can you tell me please what's the make of coffee you were using, looks like a packet that pours ?
I'll be up at Kettlewell next month, motorcycle camping, as a local can you please organise that weather you had !!
All the best,
Richard Indoors 😉👍
Hi. Yes they’re called coffee brewer. Can be used many times. Just rinse and use your favourite blend.
On order ! Cheers R
well i really enjoyed coming along your trip....😊❤
thank you!
very sympathetic!!
grettings from germany
Great video and well put together 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Very interesting Richard.
Glad you enjoyed it
Fantastic Richard…. I think I would of had a bit of steak with that butter 😀
😉
Great video richard. Beast of a steak.
Thanks 👍
I like the logic...Cast iron pan and titanium plate.☺
I think you might have to take a couple of knots off the V1 next time you fly after that meal.
Try cooking that in a Ti pan.
@@RichardOutdoors Nothing beats cast iron......
Great video Rich. Nice to get out on all bikes. Great big steak looks delicious. Perfect time now for bikecamping
Really enjoyed this video, thanks Richard. That bicycle has bigger tyres than one of my motorcycles. I enjoyed living in N Yorks (near Skipton), and know the village you mentioned, but all that was a long time ago. Your videos often take me back there in my memory. Keep doing mad things mate! Les in Chester
Thanks Les!
Thanks so much for your responsible talk about using an e-bike. I've been wondering (not in a judgemental way) about the fascination of hikers and backpackers, campers, with e-bikes! Would have preferred the "moo!" steak! You video was so nice. Thanks and ATB
Really enjoyable video.Thank you for sharing. That steak looked fantastic. Take care.
nice lobster on the loadout 😆
looked like a yummy meal. great episode richard!
🛴❤
Man, that’s a charred steak.
You bet! Thanks!
Superb video 👌 Bike cam, drone footage and beautiful photography. Excellent presentation, short kit list, just brilliant. Camp cooking at an elite level. I can almost taste the food😎 👍👍👍
It was wonderful Richard seems a fantscic e-Bike that you've got yourself. Good cooking and I enjoyed it for one. Take care!
From West Chester, OH Thanks for taking us along on your adventure Richard.
I enjoyed that video Richard, it looks to be a lovely spot you have found. Steak for a meal in the woods! I must try to break free from Noodles or Army rat packs..😄
Great video as usual Richard.
Its never nice to see someone have a bad night in a hammock.
You look around 6ft so you should be using a 11ft long double hammock and sleeping in a diagonal lay not like a banana that puts the body into a flat lay position.
Hope this may help a little as I find the hammock soooo comfortable to sleep in...🏕
I’ll keep my eyes out! Interesting stuff. Thanks.
Great lil camp Richard!..food look amazing!
Quick tip: Pop the steak in one of those Versabags in the fridge overnight, add the pepper, rosemary and garlic to soak up those flavours, no salt though, that will dry it out, salt once cooked. Another great vid keep em rollin Richard.
What an ace steak!
It certainly was!
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
Glad the garlic kept the vampires away. Nice video.
Lovely video.
No one would see you but boy they could smell all that lovely garlic cooking 😂😂😂😂
Good one Richard, I'd take a bike lick and remove the battery or keep it closer. But am sure you had all bases covered being a pilot 😎
very tempted to sort myself out with a bike to go camping with now! great camp and some michelin star grub as usual 👍
A wonderful night out dude! Thanks for taking us with you👏👌😎
Interesting and your an adventurous chap👍
Simon would probably say the first attempt at the steak was well done!! 😊
Thank you from my recliner in New Orleans.😊
Great video, always love your cooking.
So great seeing you again….you look hale and hearty! Enjoyed the video! 😊
You cant go wrong with meat and cheese on a camp, both looked awesome. I'm certainly tempted by an e-bike but not sure I'd be popular at home getting more large kit. Cheers for showing of my work 👍
Pleasure pal.
Looks like a nice bike Richard, and the meat wasn’t bad either!
Very nice sir.
Thanks for the video.
Great adventure. Thank for sharing
Very relaxing little soiree. Owls, cows and birds, "Oh My". When I saw you had dropped another video, I knew I could count on a Richard vid to be relaxing and informative. I have an unused DD Frontline XL but was a little too "large" to maneuver easily so I put myself on a diet. Have lost around 30 pounds and am getting ready for my first hammock camp out. Been wondering what to have as my first meal and man, that steak sure looked good!
Great stuff. Enjoy and thanks!
another good vid Rischard thumbs up
Another splendid video 👍
Great video as usual Richard.
Richard yep, love your videos. I must say I share hammock sentiments and have given up on them. I will rather sleep on a mat / ground sheet under the stars. Keep them coming.... Mike
Thank you!
Delish, fab content as always
Nice Man, thank you.
Hi Richard, Going out on a limb here to say this is my favourite video of yours, maybe a hark back to my childhood when i used to dream of doing such an adventure, thank you very much for the time and effort you put into your videos, so much goes on behind the scenes to produce this quality
Wow, thanks!
Awesome as always✅
