The weakness of the devils is our lack of depth scoring. Johnny is right we could probably use one more elite scorer, but the bottom six have been quiet on the scoring front, despite playing very well. Appreciate the coverage of the Devils
The Devils need depth scoring bad. I think if that's solved they're the best team in the league. It's the one hole but it's a very exploitable hole in a series against a great defensive team. If you key in on the stars hard and shut them down knowing there's nothing coming after the top guys then you can beat them. I do think the depth add should be accomplished through a top 6 caliber player and pushing guys down rather than adding an actual depth guy because Palat's just not it anymore. I don't know if we'd really have the assets for like a Nelson or Palmieri though. Noesen is a top 6 player at this point. He's producing like it and the trio of Meier-Hischier-Noesen is one of the best lines in the league. Cotter's not a high end bottom 6 guy. Cotter's a fringe NHLer and our worst bottom 6er. He's overrated because he hits. He doesn't create any offense and he's awful defensively. Luke-Pesce is not the 3rd pair lol. It's the top pair. Siegs-Kovacevic is the 2nd pair. Siegs-Kovacevic could also be the top pair though. Both of those pairs are elite. Dillon-Dougie is the very clear 3rd and worst pair.
Being a jets fan I love patty but he seemed to be a better player when he kept his mouth shut. Once he started acting cocky it would all go to shit. I thought he learned his lesson but just like always he has a small amount of success in Montreal and now he forgets how he quit on the blue jackets. I have nothing against rehab but once your out shut your yap. Now he has unneeded stress that he put on himself.
