Class is that just mild steel plates you used and regularly wire and gas I'm starting to get into this work and would love to no how you pick the correct meterel and gas and wire love your videos people can learn so much from someone like you it's just like going with you for the day thank you for talking the time to do it keep them coming, you have a class work shop top class
What a great video. I know nothing about welding and fabrication but what an insight. You should do some educational videos like showing how to weld for us numptys that are fascinated by it have no intention of doing it !
I just joined your channel and enjoy it a lot of variety. Also I wanted to tell you I also watch CEE and IC Weld and hear is a new one for you On Fire Welding. Hello from Canada.
What an amazing job! Most people would be happy with a ‘back to factory’ repair, but this is miles better!! Out of interest, did you do any alignment checks as you were going? If I was doing that repair I guarantee it would warp as I welded it 🫣😂
I wonder how many of the same type of boom or stick you'd need in your fleet before it made sense to have a spare one to issue as they came in for work like this.
This is a top notch repair! Can you please make a (short) video about multi pass welds on how to do them? You seem to have mastered those for many years
I reckon cracking before a weld indicates a lack of post-weld heat treatment that leaves the hot weld area harder than the base metal, need to heat the entire area on that piece and cover it with insulation to cool down very slowly.
Quality stuff mate, I’m in the game too down in Essex. Been following you for a long time now and you’ve kept me entertained and educated whilst off injured after almost losing a finger! Keep it coming 👌🏼👊🏻
Brilliant watching a quality repair, completed by people far more concsientious than those who made the damned jib. The shocking weld exposed within an area normally not seen, gives an insight to how much worse this damage was, compared to whether it wouldn't have beem as bad, or occurred at all, if the original weld had've been up to scratch.. It would bring into question the quality of what you buy from overseas and maybe WHY, it is cheaper than comparable Western models.
I'll build a all the pioneer booms ever built well dam neer you have a thicker bottom plate and a thicker top plate much like an I-beam is the flange is thicker than the web to keep the flexibility and strengthen the Boom that's exactly what I would do
A brilliant job stronger than factory as I was watching it I was wondering how your were going to weld that stiffener on the inside when you put the final plate on it doesn't need it anyway that damage was caused by a bad driver we had a 210 hitachi go the same way the driver using a 7ft grading bucket using one corner of the bucket I don't have to tell what happened that driver
Love how you went from this needing an internal stiffener or maybe even two - to these heads need some flex in them, fuck that stiffener bullshit. haha 🤣 Another boring and laborious job dodged. Well done!

shocking what you find when you open some of these up
Class stuff
Great video, what is the purpose of a backing strip?
So you can get a good strong pen with a 5mm gap. It was sealed so cant weld both side's.
All the best with the videos from brg plant hire love the contents pal 👍
I'll build a all the pioneer booms ever built well dam neer you have a thicker bottom plate and a thicker top plate much like an I-beam is the flange is thicker than the web to keep the flexibility and strengthen the Boom that's exactly what I would do
How the god fid that break your some man brillant
A couple of things, do you ever use gouging rods to maybe speed up removing welds and ever thought about getting your own plasma cutting table?
Hi Baz sorry I haven't watching your videos m8 been in hospital 3rd week now ❤
Love these videos bruv keep up the good work you have mad skills mate. Cheers from California
Thanks brother
Whats the music at 15 min. Kiddo was ready for a rave. Now she wants to know the track???
A brilliant job stronger than factory as I was watching it I was wondering how your were going to weld that stiffener on the inside when you put the final plate on it doesn't need it anyway that damage was caused by a bad driver we had a 210 hitachi go the same way the driver using a 7ft grading bucket using one corner of the bucket I don't have to tell what happened that driver
What type or grade of steel plate is used for this repair?
mild
I have signed up for advanced English so I can get a handle exactly what you 're saying.
Just watch GoT we are from the north! Loyal rough and hard working dave lad.
@@welderfabber your work is the what I understand about your videos!! In any language craftmanship speaks clearest !!
good job
so did anyone stand on the big lump of grease
just curious why no pre heat???🔥
mild steel under 20 mm and it got a lot of heat in prep, but if your planning on doing 1 I would advise to heat it first.
Curious as to what yr the machine is. Had a 140 break in that same weld. It was a 2016
Yeah pretty sure this was 2016, defo bad factory work.
Yes it is. The factory weld didn't go all the way through. Good job on your work
@@WaymanColemanFishing Thanks bud

All my life read my bio bud.
Is this just an unfortunate sort of freak repair or a manufacturing weakness or operator abuse??
Great repair and explained really well 🎉
Not sure maybe all 3
How did it happen in the first place???
bad operator/bad steel not sure to be honest or maybe both.
mooi werk weer mannen,💪
