I used to own one of these. It was an amazing pedal. Super lush and full sounding chorus. I loved the 10 o'clock area. Only sold it because I found myself liking phaser more and more. Definitely would buy again if I need a chorus.
Inspiring playing as always. I ran old analog effects for 30 years but I think modern-day effects have actually caught up to them without the nuisance of the old technology
The best Chorus for my sound is the Boss Dimension (set at 3) ... this seems like a vintage chorus. As always though, just watching you demo was worth the click - great vid!
I’ve spent so much on fancy pedals with tons of modulation and control over everything and the best ones are always from a quality brand with simple controls like this one
The one time I did session work, it was with an indie band, and this pedal in conjunction with an HX Stomp set up with a JC120 and CE1 model was the sound of that track, they loved it
Kinda reminds me of my DOD FX65… shallower than a typical CE-style chorus but still very warm. Not thick enough for the lush, clean stuff but perfect for running in front of a dirty amp. And it does the fast Leslie thing with ease.
Lower settings below 10 O Clock seem more Flange sounding to me. It's definitely a cool piece from that era!! In my own little world of Chori the shootout between the Tricerachorus Pedal and the Mobius, Mobius is still on My Pedalboard!!
At last, I wanted to hear your opinion on this. I have the new version, the switch works without a glitch. It fattens the distorted rhythm chords and helps with harmonics but it has some noise (not noticeable with clean). You're right about the "one sound" (I like it with the rate=1 o'clock), but when I test other chorus pedals/plug-ins etc. I tend to set them to produce the same kind of sound so this helps me to get there faster! Oh, and Richie Faulkner of Judas Priest has one always on before his amps!
It’s great. It goes on my SHTF board everywhere I go. It’s not my favorite (SCH-1), but it’s a tank, and in stressful situations in a backup rig, it’s absolutely the best for that situation.
I’m chasing that Randy Rhoads sound and it seems mid range and chorus everybody says carbon copy but I got this as well I’m thinking 11-12? Love the playing !
🙏yea when I think mxr I think Randy! That and white Marshalls..I'm quite shocked how much you can get out of that one knob yellow box...sort of awesome really
Playing a stereo chorus or one with a effect out and dry out through two amps ruined running chorus on a single dirty amp for me just about. I still love it to fatten up clean going to one amp but ever since running my cheap behringer chorus through my dsl20 and a rectoverb 25 both near filthy running talk about some wannabe John Sykes stuff, I know my neighbors got tired of hearing me hack away at Still of the Night riffs. Alas now chorus is useless through one amp since I know what I’m missing now lol . I won’t even look at most modulation pedals unless they are dual or sterile out anymore. I like the simplicity of one knob pedals though cause I tend to do more knob twisting than playing. Hey that would be a cool idea for a video. Take like an OR15 and build a pedal board with only one knob pedals on it, you could use the MXR or small stone chorus, phase 90, micro amp or another one knob boost any see what all kind of sounds you can get with the least amount of controls to distract you ? The OR 15 is one of first amps that comes to mind thinking about amps with few knobs but I guess one of those two knob fenders would have even less to mess with.
Hey Leon.. Great demo as always. That thing sounds awesome. Epic.. God I love it.. I also love how simple it is. That way it doesn't take a degree in Electrical engineering to use it. 😛 That's so funny you said it reminded you of Randy.. It did me as well. As soon as I saw it I thought of the epic little guy who was the best ever! RIP RR's. !!!! I dig that Greco as well.. Very cool that it has an Ebony fretboard. Have you ever thought about putting a mirror pickguard and pickup rings on it, and then you'd have a John Sykes like guitar! :-) As always sir you bring value to my life with your YT channel and it's very very appreciated sir. I really love this channel. Hope you're having a great day or night whatever time it is when you read this and please be safe and tell your friends and family hey for me! Tim
I actually have this on my board currently. I think it gets turned on maybe twice during the course of my set, but I bought it because it was one knob. Seems decent enough for me
Reminds me of that British New Wave sound (the cure, siouxsie), not bad but I'm more into the LA stereo sound myself. Probably be quite nice if you run a few pedals in front of an amp
Great video thanks Leon I would prefer more versatility in a pedal though fixed pedal is restricting u can't fine tune it as much u know what I mean with 1 variable knob u can only do so much .Take care bro have u tried the EVH Iconic 80watt head yet ? For the price point its the bomb mate🎛🎸🥁👋
Nah. I won't go so far as "garbage", but not for me. It's not so much the lack of control (I can see why that might be a draw, really}, it's that it introduces some sort of lack of tonal clarity. At least, that's what I seem to hear, and it's bothersome.
The best one knob pedal is...
The Phase 90.
Phase 90, no question!
berhinger (probably mispelt that) Vintage Phaser
Anything that adds Glorious Filth!!
Decimator ii

Love your demos Todd. Fab playing !
Thanks so much mate :)
Thank you PastFX for letting Leon demo this.. Very cool of you!
Inspiring playing as always. I ran old analog effects for 30 years but I think modern-day effects have actually caught up to them without the nuisance of the old technology
Finally! A dirt based chorus review. That’s exactly how I use my choruses. Everyone wants to do a Nirvana based review.
Always on !!! As Ritchie Faulkner do

I'm a Dimension mode 3 guy as well!
Love mine, but I’ve been struggling to kill some of the biting treble I’m getting through my current set-up.
4:57 "My uncle has a country place That no one knows about"
Rush--Red Barchetta

I love dead simple pedals. Menus are for restaurants.

SCH-1 is a pearler hey
About 11 to 1 on the knob is my favorite setting on this pedal playing hard rock. How bout you guys? Great video LT!
Judas Priests Richie Faulkner has the micro chorus on all the time, middle position,,definitely not a bad chorus,,personally I would prefer a boss type
Love to hear you have a go at the lead in SATO. 🤘🤘
What a song! Time to revisit it
@@LeonTodd Please do! My favorite lead from Randy!
I’m chasing that Randy Rhoads sound and it seems mid range and chorus everybody says carbon copy but I got this as well I’m thinking 11-12?
Love the playing !
I have one and love it. Flexible? Not really. Simple and sounds good? Yup!
🙏yea when I think mxr I think Randy! That and white Marshalls..I'm quite shocked how much you can get out of that one knob yellow box...sort of awesome really
Did I hear some Night Ranger in there (When You Close Your Eyes)?
leon reminds me of colin farrell crossed with liam neeson in that movie rob roy.
I went this morning to buy a Pedalboard power supply but left with one of these. Haven't gotten to play with it yet.
You can't go wrong with that pedal...Eheheheeh

Thanks man! Scarfs I store for you this weekend?
I actually have this on my board currently. I think it gets turned on maybe twice during the course of my set, but I bought it because it was one knob. Seems decent enough for me
That's 2x per knob, more than a lot of other pedals!
when i have a chorus pedal, i can't avoid to play that grungry song come as you are
Now what would *two* of them sound like in stereo?
When using in a fX Loop get volume drop not sure why?
Had one and the chorus itself wasn’t bad. But it was noisy and it boost the volume well above unity. They all do that so buyer beware.
What amp or pedal on 7:30?
Very nice drive sound !
Thanks
Probably my Axe-Fx. I forget if I used that or my Synergy 800 module for this.
@@LeonTodd thanks you~
Far from Analogman Mini Chorus - Great or Garbage? IMO
I had one and sold it because I needed more controllability. Your video confirms I was right at the time.
Reminds me of that British New Wave sound (the cure, siouxsie), not bad but I'm more into the LA stereo sound myself. Probably be quite nice if you run a few pedals in front of an amp
Sounds decent enough

Still keen to try one!
Looks more flangy than a normal chorus if the rate is very low in my opinion.
Sounds great, is it just me or am I hearing a little flanger in this pedal?
