Trokar the Vampire...with a magic wand...sounds formidable. The trick is...make the vampirism more magical than demon-ish blood sucking monster. And I have a suggestion... And ..i always pictured Blaise Zambini having a vampire for a mother. All his 7 stepfathers all die. AND he's rather separated from the Slytherins as a whole...and Draco specifically. Yet, he's not teased OR bullied. Ever wonder why? My conjecture is...he's the son of a Vampire. Aloof, confident, haughty, and a loner... And he would be one who could fill the role of Potions Professor. 😄

I always thought it was weird that vampires were so casually mentioned in the books as existing among wizards, having their specialised candy and all that, but besides Sanguini at the party, never really appeared. From what we know, vampires were not involved with Voldemort at the battle of Hogwarts either, which very much speaks for them. I feel like JK wanted to have them exist in her world, but simply didn't want to write about vampires, who would open a whole different genre and probably so many more plotholes. They simply weren't relevant to the story, but she wanted the possibility of them existing. On a sidenote, the mobile game Hogwarts Mystery has recently introduced a vampire character. He is a now 7th year student named Victor Ketsueki and he was turned during his summer vacation. In the game, I'm not sure whether they simply wanted to have a vampire character (because they kinda try to let the MC experience everything and meet everyone), or him being one is relevant in the future of the (ongoing) story. I'm definitely curious about him though!

Play through some story, set your phone aside, do something else, and when you're done with something else, play the story again. I started playing the game while renovating my (then) new apartment and it was an excellent indicator when to take breaks and play a little.

I feel that this vampire character would have been a nice replacement for Snape or the JK's original idea of the character role. I could definitely see this vampire in Snape's shoes growing up at Hogwarts, being bullied by the Marauders and being friends with Lily. Afterwards he would seek out power to never feel powerless again, i.e. vampires and than death eaters. Which makes sense with the lore as well, as Voldemort's army was made up of all kinds of dark creatures seeking acknowledgement by the magical government as well. It would also make the dynamic of Snape's double agent role more interesting as well. As with the public persecution of vampires his betrayal might seem like something everyone saw coming, but the redemption at the end of the story would that much more meaning. At least in my opinion.
What if Lily chose the vampire over James romantically? The entire Harry Potter series would be different. The main character would be half-vampire (a dhampir in folklore), but what would he/she be called?

Yeah i know that they were petrified and that is not something that vampires usually do. But would people actually have cared about such details, or would they blamed him anyway?
I don't know about Trocar but it would've been something to see him developed. Same goes for all characters even backgrounds as well. In PoA ps2 game I have, there r wizard cards of vampires and I'll name four. 1. Amarillo Lestoat, based off of Lestat de Lioncourt in The Vampire Chronicles. 2. Carmilla Sanguina, inspired on the Hungarian countess Erzebet Bathory. They both killed young women and bathed in their blood, believing it would maintain their youthful beauty. 3. Herbert Varney, loosly based on Jack The Ripper. And 4. Vlad Drakul ii, don't know about him but his son Vlad Drakul iii was Bram Stoker's Dracula inspiration.
There was a 5th Vampire. I can't remember his name, but his card said he composed simphonies so people would become sleepy and would become easier prey.

If you could become immortal by becoming a vampire then Moldyvort would've done that. I don't think there are any issues with him going that way to achieve immortality
He would have had to depend on people for blood. And thus, would have had to have a least one person near by at all times. Considering his hatred of having people close to him, I think the whole vampire idea would have been a 'last resort' plan for him.
I thought of that too, but Voldemort wanted to be completely immortal. Vamps can still be killed and have some pretty undesirable weaknesses. Also, he’d probably see them as contaminated due to his pure blood obsession like he did with Fenrir
Even if Vampire immortality had no limit, it still only eliminate death due to old age, and not preventing death all together. There is also the added side effects of being a vampire, assuming JK Rowling followed the same lore as traditional vampires, IE weak to sunlight. Horcrux's allow a person to escape death, the true immortality of Voldemort's goals.
JK probably scratched off immortality off the list for her vampires because it would otherwise it would give her some pretty big lore problems that are better explored in vampire stories. The biggest being "why isn't blank a vampire?" Like you said the immortality is the big draw in for being a vampire so it would make too much sense for various people to seek it out. The biggest would be Voldemort, it would be a much simpler process to become a vampire and simply mind garlic and sunlight, which he could just magic away. than to make 7 horcrukes and guarding them. Then there's what vampires would do with magic, since her magic system is basically if you can figure out the words and have the power you can do anything, what is to stop them from using there magic to block out the sun and burn all garlic on earth too make themselves the unchallenged kings of the world. She would have to also have to do something like vampires physically can't use magic or magic can't change the weather no matter what method or amount of power you may try.
That's what they did in The Vampire Diaries. You couldn't become a vampire and keep your witch powers. Unless you were born a siphon witch (which was super rare and only happens in the Gemini Coven) then you could siphon from the internal magic of vampirism to still use your powers, which is why they sent all the siphons vamps to a pocket dimension, lol!
She could've of said that it was a curse and that only a certain people have it or it happens because of a certain gene in a wizard like metamorphmagi and parselmouths

Or simply have it that vampires are a distinct species and not something that anyone can turn into. It would still create some problems, like, why aren't vampires at the top of the food chain? Unless they can't do magic, there's no reason why they wouldn't reign over wizards. Perhaps they're just that nice? Or yeah, simply give multiple reasons as to why turning into a vampire to obtain immortality isn't a good idea. Perhaps vampires are inmortal in the sense that they don't die of old age or sickness, but they need to consume ridiculously unrealistic amounts of blood to survive, perhaps they're so sensitive to the sun, that a tiny bit of sunlight could kill them off immediately, and magic isn't enough to protect them, perhaps there's ways to "harvest" sunlight with magic and used it in the night, which meant that Voldemort didn't deemed a good idea to become a vampire as that would make him developed way too many weaknesses. Perhaps vampires can't make horrocruxes. Idk, anything, the more I think about it, the more the existance of vampires breaks the HP universe. It was smart of Rowling to not to give them any relevancy in the story, albeit I think it would have been interesting if they had more participation, with a bit more of planing perhaps it would have work.

Having heard this, I feel like JK may have welded parts of Trokar in to Snape. The numerous bat references, the sallow skin, the bad attitude to Harry…. Not that Snape is a vampire and that they wouldn’t be their own characters, but if JK knew that early on that he wouldn’t be in the story, I could see her meshing some of Trokar’s characteristics in to a character who she knew would be along for the whole ride
There was a vampire which you can get a card of in the Prisoner of Azkaban video game called Vlad Drackul who apparently inspired Bram Stoker to create the character Dracula. Vlad the Impaler exists as well.
The funny thing is that in the Prisoner of Azkaban video game they made a reference to Amarillo Lestoat a vampire that appears in the chocolate frog cards.
It would have been simple to use him as a death eater. Love to see the interaction between Trocar and the werewolf who fought along side Voldemort. I think his name was Fenrir. Or even use vampires in the final battle of Hogwarts. Or use them to hunt down Harry and his friends. They were options that could have been explored but in the end just missed opportunities. Maybe we can see more in the future stories
I would've loved to see Trocker ( feel free to correct me if his name is misspelled) as a character and his presence would've changed the story a bit overall .

I agree with Rowling, I think vampires have been done to death. As cool as it would have been to see a vampire teacher, I think that the series is perfect without one... Though, in a sense, that disgusting pink creature in the fifth year was an emotional vampire. It delighted in and fed off the suffering of others. And dementors are similarly emotional vampires.
I think Trocar would have been good as Harry's head of house I would imagine him being the transfiguration professor or the schools doctor or Alchemy professor
Just for reference vampires also feature highly in Irish folklore the Dearg Dur the female vampire who comes back from the dead to prey on those who could have saved her from a cruel marriage and the legend of Abhartacht, the most famous vampire literature was written by Bram Stoker. Many cultures had myths about vampires east and west 😀👍🏻
Yes a trocar is a Surgical instrument but, it's not specifically for the extraction of bodily fluids, it allows the surgeon to perform laporoscopic surgeries which is the preferred method if a full open procedure can be avoided

It would have been so much fun to have Trocar as a minor character, always doing something weird in the background of scenes that had no bearing on the actual plot and that no other characters notice/care about. (Edit: For reference, I’m thinking of the UK show Teachers that routinely had crazy stuff happening in the background of shots and always went completely unacknowledged by the main cast)

In my personal head cannon vampires are cursed beings and the ones that have a disease are different type. the cursed ones are immortal. The cursed one is a wizard who mad a very powerful dark wizard angry as an example of a dark wizard herpo the foul. They are pass their curse through blood like a maledictus.
Im a big vampire fan, technically they are immortal, but like jellyfish and all kinds of crustaceans, shit happens. In my most precious vampire lore (vampire the masquerade) there is no such thing as a 1000 year old vampire, the rules of the rol is that eventually the "curse" makes them weak and they have to sleep a lot (classic coffin) so it comes to a point in a vampire’s life that they do start to wither and decay not only physically but psychically and they just rest forever, waiting their time to wake up and consume their children. Vampires are some of the most basic fantastic creature (of the dark genre) they truly cannot win a fight against a werewolf or a witch, but their depth relies in their character, most vampires didn’t chose to be, so most of the times it’s a very sad existence, that makes they really attractive to me and interesting, they may not be as powerful as other creatures but certainly are complex individuals
You know something if always wondered. What school did Santa claus go to? Santa Claus used magic, had house elves, is known in Harry potter because you see Santa ornament zooming around on a broom in the order of the pheonix at the Wesley hClaus and it seems from lore that the title is handed down through the years. The original st nicholas was Greek but in later years is portrayed as sort of a Germanic fella. The first st Nick was a devout Christian and most likely had no magical abilities and all his deeds were worldly deeds any man could do. But when Santa became Germanic he gained a bit of power over the years. So what wizarding school would he have gone to for me I think since modern Santa is a mix of mostly European Germanic lands I'd say durmstrang. He's just an exception to the rule about dark wizards from there. I'd like to see a fan fix of Santa clause from the view of the w easley father finding old documents about Santa Klause and setting down to tell his kids in front of the fire when they were little during Xmas eve.
It might have been cool to see one included but at the same time rather stereotypical as vampires have been done to death (no pun intended) in so many franchises that there is nothing new to add.
I may be wrong, but I don't think Lockhart's book was a lie since it was well established that he used his mastery over memory charms to take credit for other's works and twist narratives in his favor. Certainly he personally isn't responsible for much in his books when it comes to impressive acts, however it has always been my assumption that any bold claims of his are real events attributable to somebody else. The fact that there will be evidence for them happening should anyone look into them is why he gained notoriety and get away with it for as long as he did.
Nice video but a small sidenote :) Tthe definition of the medical Trocar is not complete as it's main use is to function as a portal for instruments during laparoscopic surgery and they are mostly not placed in ateries. Keep it up I like your work.
Trocar was developed as a character and then his name changed to snape. Duh. So Either Snape is a vampire hybrid (his mother) or slightly more likely a vampire bat animagus.
I don't know why but I always thought that when fudges replacement minister of magic that brought Harry Ron and Hermione dumbledore's will items he was a vampire it might have just been the feeling that he gave off in the books don't remember
Trocar? I don't remember him in the books. I will go to re-read just to search him. He was professor of what? I assume Ghoul studies. Anyway, too bad we didn't have Vampires in the story, with much character development. Vampires like Angel & Spike, could have been like starts in the wizarding world I think. Or maybe even vampires like Lestat, Santiago & Louis, imagine them fighting in the good side. With the five I've mentioned, if they were helping the good guys, than I feel sorry for Voldemort's army of Death Eaters. Good thing that House Elves & Centaurs helped in the battle.
Did Rowling saw what subject he would be teaching? If he was DADA we would only have seen him once. Was he supposed to be teaching in quirrels place? The vampire lore reminds me of the vampires from elder scrolls, particularly oblivion. It is a disease that first drains your fatigue/stamina and after a couple of days you are a vampire and your power grows and you have increased abilities in certain things like destruction and illusion magic.
I Wonder what model JK Rowlings Vampires follow. Do they follow a modified Anne Rice version like Twilight. Do they follow a modified Bram Stoker Model like Underworld or Dusk Till Dawn. Or are they different perhaps a second species entirely. Personally, I hope they follow a model similar to Bram Stoker's Dracula. I have a fan theory for them in my head canon. I think that Vampires in Harry Potter are a parasite that grows inside corpses. That wouldn't contradict with Harry Potter or Vampire folklore. I hope a future Fantastic Beast Movie answers this question.

There was a vampire which you can get a card of in the Prisoner of Azkaban video game called Vlad Drackul who apparently inspired Bram Stoker to create the character Dracula. Vlad the Impaler exists as well.

The funny thing is that in the Prisoner of Azkaban video game they made a reference to
Amarillo Lestoat a vampire that appears in the chocolate frog cards.
It would have been simple to use him as a death eater. Love to see the interaction between Trocar and the werewolf who fought along side Voldemort. I think his name was Fenrir. Or even use vampires in the final battle of Hogwarts. Or use them to hunt down Harry and his friends. They were options that could have been explored but in the end just missed opportunities. Maybe we can see more in the future stories
I would've loved to see Trocker ( feel free to correct me if his name is misspelled) as a character and his presence would've changed the story a bit overall .
Honestly I love Lupin so much I can’t imagine anyone else filling that role, but I usually advocate for more vampires!

I agree with Rowling, I think vampires have been done to death. As cool as it would have been to see a vampire teacher, I think that the series is perfect without one... Though, in a sense, that disgusting pink creature in the fifth year was an emotional vampire. It delighted in and fed off the suffering of others. And dementors are similarly emotional vampires.

Yes a trocar is a Surgical instrument but, it's not specifically for the extraction of bodily fluids, it allows the surgeon to perform laporoscopic surgeries which is the preferred method if a full open procedure can be avoided

It would have been so much fun to have Trocar as a minor character, always doing something weird in the background of scenes that had no bearing on the actual plot and that no other characters notice/care about.
(Edit: For reference, I’m thinking of the UK show Teachers that routinely had crazy stuff happening in the background of shots and always went completely unacknowledged by the main cast)

In my personal head cannon vampires are cursed beings and the ones that have a disease are different type. the cursed ones are immortal. The cursed one is a wizard who mad a very powerful dark wizard angry as an example of a dark wizard herpo the foul. They are pass their curse through blood like a maledictus.
Im a big vampire fan, technically they are immortal, but like jellyfish and all kinds of crustaceans, shit happens. In my most precious vampire lore (vampire the masquerade) there is no such thing as a 1000 year old vampire, the rules of the rol is that eventually the "curse" makes them weak and they have to sleep a lot (classic coffin) so it comes to a point in a vampire’s life that they do start to wither and decay not only physically but psychically and they just rest forever, waiting their time to wake up and consume their children. Vampires are some of the most basic fantastic creature (of the dark genre) they truly cannot win a fight against a werewolf or a witch, but their depth relies in their character, most vampires didn’t chose to be, so most of the times it’s a very sad existence, that makes they really attractive to me and interesting, they may not be as powerful as other creatures but certainly are complex individuals

You know something if always wondered. What school did Santa claus go to? Santa Claus used magic, had house elves, is known in Harry potter because you see Santa ornament zooming around on a broom in the order of the pheonix at the Wesley hClaus and it seems from lore that the title is handed down through the years. The original st nicholas was Greek but in later years is portrayed as sort of a Germanic fella. The first st Nick was a devout Christian and most likely had no magical abilities and all his deeds were worldly deeds any man could do. But when Santa became Germanic he gained a bit of power over the years. So what wizarding school would he have gone to for me I think since modern Santa is a mix of mostly European Germanic lands I'd say durmstrang. He's just an exception to the rule about dark wizards from there. I'd like to see a fan fix of Santa clause from the view of the w easley father finding old documents about Santa Klause and setting down to tell his kids in front of the fire when they were little during Xmas eve.

It might have been cool to see one included but at the same time rather stereotypical as vampires have been done to death (no pun intended) in so many franchises that there is nothing new to add.
I may be wrong, but I don't think Lockhart's book was a lie since it was well established that he used his mastery over memory charms to take credit for other's works and twist narratives in his favor. Certainly he personally isn't responsible for much in his books when it comes to impressive acts, however it has always been my assumption that any bold claims of his are real events attributable to somebody else. The fact that there will be evidence for them happening should anyone look into them is why he gained notoriety and get away with it for as long as he did.
Seeing a vampire professor would be rather intriguing in my opinion.

Trocar? I don't remember him in the books. I will go to re-read just to search him. He was professor of what? I assume Ghoul studies. Anyway, too bad we didn't have Vampires in the story, with much character development. Vampires like Angel & Spike, could have been like starts in the wizarding world I think. Or maybe even vampires like Lestat, Santiago & Louis, imagine them fighting in the good side. With the five I've mentioned, if they were helping the good guys, than I feel sorry for Voldemort's army of Death Eaters. Good thing that House Elves & Centaurs helped in the battle.

The vampire lore reminds me of the vampires from elder scrolls, particularly oblivion. It is a disease that first drains your fatigue/stamina and after a couple of days you are a vampire and your power grows and you have increased abilities in certain things like destruction and illusion magic.
I always thought Rufus Scrimgeour was a vampire.
I Wonder what model JK Rowlings Vampires follow. Do they follow a modified Anne Rice version like Twilight. Do they follow a modified Bram Stoker Model like Underworld or Dusk Till Dawn. Or are they different perhaps a second species entirely. Personally, I hope they follow a model similar to Bram Stoker's Dracula. I have a fan theory for them in my head canon. I think that Vampires in Harry Potter are a parasite that grows inside corpses. That wouldn't contradict with Harry Potter or Vampire folklore.
