Rowling said she made Ron’s character to be a reflection of the prejudices in the Wizarding World but to also show that people’s views can change. It’s why his knee jerk reactions to Werewolves, Squibs, House Elf’s, etc are bad at the start but he becomes better dealing with those beings later in the story.

I think a House Elf rebellion is more believable. Because goblins despite their second class status still have a comfortable place in Wizarding society, as they are indispensable when it comes to banking, commerce and craftsmanship. Turning on their wizarding patrons is a risky enterprise that could end up with most of them either killed or enslaved like the House Elves.

In modern times goblins seem pretty free to do what they want despite wizards being capable of destroying them. The only exception is they don't get invited into the privileges of the wizard club. From what I read from the books, the dislike of goblins by the wizards is justified. They are not true to their word, they're plotters, and are very tribal. They are also cruel, very bitter and hold a grudge.
The Death Eater Ministry's decision to take away ownership of Gringots was actually a clever move, and after Voldemort's defeat, the wizards probably didn't give full ownership of Gringots back to the goblins.

Evert since we really started to "get to know" the goblins in "Deathly Hallows," I've instinctively disliked them. There's something about their graspiness, their goblin-centered outlook, and their cold-bloodedness that strikes me as selfishly malevolent, even racist. I've never felt sorry for them, and I've questioned whether their "goblin rebellions" were entirely based on the struggle for their rights.

  • @lebitelexie9350
    @lebitelexie9350 2 роки тому +3

What I always felt missing is that we never let known how the goblins are on a global level. UK Wizarding community treats them as creatures but is this the same across the entire world? Is there are place where goblins and wizards live in harmony? If Professor Flitwick is indeed part-goblin that suggest that they can interbreed with humans. I would love if we would get more lore about the goblins and their interaction with wizarding societies across the world. A story where a wizard / witch and a goblin teams up to recover stolen artifacts for Gringotts would be an awsome little story in my oppinion.

I guess because they managed to actually gain success as successful accountants and bankers they feel entitled to respect from wizardkind - not undeservedly - they’re able to have that sense of rivalry and independence whereas elves have always had a symbiotic reliance on wizards instead.

And Albus slowly loses his ability to cast spells. It's almost like...his wand doesn't quite understand him....then goes mute.
Tragic, for sure. But.. he can't turn into a squib, can he? And He Who Must Not Be Back turns up in his defense...Very Strange. Of course, just because his initials are A.S.P., it doesn't mean he should have been placed in Slytherin, after all...does it?

Yes, I very much enjoy the Potter folklore videos! However, I can truly understand diversifying your videos to include more introductions to new stories as one can not live on Potter alone.
As for a Goblin war...The Goblins have already won. I know from history that to truly win a war, you must control the money. Since Goblins already do that now, they have all the power. As you stated, they have enough gold themselves to not want any from Wizards. They could easily crash the economy, refuse to fund projects, or cause Goblin sympathetic loans to be approved and basically, any action against them would be met with extreme financial difficulty. For example, say all the shops in Diagon Alley need to order supplies and restock their shelves but have angered the Goblins. The Goblins would pressure the Ministry to heavily tax those shipments, in the interest of public good, of course, making those shipments almost impossible for most of the shopkeepers to afford. Those that could afford it would have to pass along those prices to the customer... Like books. Leaving families like the Weasley's unable to afford them. Compound this over several shipments and Diagon Alley would be essentially shut down. If Fudge had actually tried to mint Wizard money where would he have to go to get the mined and purified metal in the amounts needed? The Goblins may dislike how Wizards view them but they hold all the power and the Goblins know this.

If goblins were not able to have wands, then how was Professor flitwick able to have one?
I kinda feel bad for goblins. I still don’t get the discrimination from all the lore. It somewhat mirrors the real world racial issues. Elves and goblins don’t deserve this. I’m glad hermione became minister.

I think what that happened, with Godric Gryffindor is an excuse. No, it's about some wizards treated them like shit. If they would only respect Goblins, we would never have seen rebellions. Second thing, wand is useless. It is proven, that it's possible to generate powerful magic without a wand. Question please: What about Riddle The Animated Story. When does it come out?

    Personally, I would be worried.
Can Goblins track the times someone touches a galleon or not? as in they are OP or not
I would like to point out that the amount of purebloods liking the evil half means that some have been having issues with finance, I worry about what kind of loaning and finance system there is. Partly because of the Weasleys though. Meanwhile \
Am I the only one who finds weird the dates on the goblin rebellion? is it supposed to be Scotland?b

I think it's more important if you are happy returning to Harry Potter Folklore. I remember the video announcing that it would change and how you wanted to try something different. Ultimately I enjoy all the videos but if your not happy making them then I can't possibly enjoy something on your suffering. If your are happy going back then so am I if not then I support the change.

It seems goblins were a sorta wizarding world's version of Jews. Whether this was conscious on the part of Rowling I don't know.
