Hi Austen, great video! I'm a blogger as well and my audience is mainly Italian, only about 40% of my traffic is from English speaking countries. I'm with Ezoic right now and it's not bad, I make about 60% more than I made with Adsense (about $1000/month). I got accepted by Mediavine lately, but since the majority of my traffic is not from the U.S. I'm really not sure if I should change. Mediavine is very professional and they told me I could monetize my blog well with them, but they also told me that my Italian traffic will not earn me much money, so I'm really insecure about what to do. I wanted to share my experience because the geographical location of your traffic is really important.
Thank you so much for watching! Yes, it does seem like where your audience is based has an impact on what these networks are looking for and how much money you can make. I would definitely recommend asking around in some Facebook groups or other blogging communities. I'm sure that other bloggers have had similar experiences in terms of figuring out a trade off of location and how that impacts RPM's. Congrats on getting into Mediavine, by the way! That is an incredible accomplishment 🎉

Hi Kimber! I think that sounds pretty specific - you can do additional research to see how many blogs in that category exist out there and based on that you can go more broad or narrow. I'd also look to see who is ranking for keywords you might have to go after to get a sense of the competition. It's possible that schools or companies like Kaplan may be ranking for posts meaning that maybe blogs are the missing ingredient for searchers who want to hear from individuals rather than brands. Hope that helps!
What about if you have a Facebook group vs a blog.Will the ad network work with you?
I have never personally heard of an ad network sponsoring a Facebook group.
