    Great. Trace done with board-view or manual? I keep extra AND gate ics for backups. We don’t have donerboards here in Sr Lanka 🇱🇰

    As the VRAM, mosfet and , top of all, GPU will heat as hell as you turn on power supply, is it safe to test voltages without any kind of cooler ? I'm currently working on a RTX2080ti, it is very hot even when idle

    • @GraphicsCardRepairs-tk7ql
      @GraphicsCardRepairs-tk7ql  5 днів тому +1

      When testing it does not affect much. The temps do not rise above 50c. So it's absolutely normal during testing.

    Awesome repair as always, thank you for your great helping videos, keep it up brother, and if you spare some time I have a little question, I had an rtx 2060s from gigabyte with micron memory 😢 and c1 faulty with 200k or more errors, so I replaced it with a new one, and now the gpu pass mats test, but the problem is in furmark, after about 5-10mins of stress test, I get a blue page, and pc restarts, and at that time exactly I do another mats test, and I see A1, b1, c1, d1 faulty with a very little number of errors about 80, and if I shut down the pc and let it rest for few minutes and turn it on and test I get no errors and pass the mats test, can you please help me out, and thank you again

      Is the micron memory of 2018? If the batch number starts with 8 then it's is 2018 batch. If it starts with 9 or any alphabet it's 2019 or later. If it's 2018 then all the memory will need to be replaced. The 2018 batch is faulty.

      @@GraphicsCardRepairs-tk7ql yes it's 2018, and i replaced it with one from 2019, the c1, so i don't need to reball the core? I need to replace all the 2018 memory left if I'm correct right? And thanks again

    • @GraphicsCardRepairs-tk7ql

      Yes all the memory will have to be replaced.

    I didn't understand how you found out at 3:25 that the faulty chip has to be an N gate (MOSFET?). Can you explain?

    • @GraphicsCardRepairs-tk7ql
      @GraphicsCardRepairs-tk7ql  Місяць тому

      The resistance on the 1.8V was low even though 1.8v was present. The other voltages required were also present but the GPU was not detected indicating something could be on the gate on the pex reset as pex reset takes in 1.8v. it is not always the case but most of the time it's the PEX reset. If this was not the case it would then be either the memory or the core and that would have been the end of this GPU. Luckily it was the gate that was the issue.

    @mainejason 4 місяці тому +1

    What is your suspicion as to why the gate would stop functioning? Heat? Another faulty component?

    • @GraphicsCardRepairs-tk7ql
      @GraphicsCardRepairs-tk7ql  4 місяці тому +3

      Difficult to say why it happened. No it is not heat. It could have been defective.

    Do you spare GTX 780 FE blower fans? I have the card but when I tried to dissamble the fan from the gpu it cracked from beneath (the plastic that connects to layer just above the die and pcb)

    • @GraphicsCardRepairs-tk7ql
      @GraphicsCardRepairs-tk7ql  4 місяці тому

      No I don't have the 700 series parts of Nvidia. I got them disposed of a long time ago. I have not got a single 700 series card for repair in the last 3 years.

    • @pacspecific
      @pacspecific 4 місяці тому +1

      @@GraphicsCardRepairs-tk7ql Okay. Is it crucial not to take the fans out of their old blower series ? 700 - 1000 series? I just took one off to give it a brush but unfortunately it cracked from underneath leaving the plastic that normally covers the vrms, ram, and power board and it can no longer attach the again, maybe I could use soldering technique but I do not have them right now.
      I just got an offer and just taken a whole of the same gpu for cheap price

    • @GraphicsCardRepairs-tk7ql
      @GraphicsCardRepairs-tk7ql  4 місяці тому +1

      If it's plastic that is broken then use super glue to stick the plastic together.

    • @pacspecific
      @pacspecific 3 місяці тому

      @@GraphicsCardRepairs-tk7ql I didn't give that a go cause the fan cannot stick, it needs a special rotation on the heatshield that requires the best cooling and noise, so instead the pieces of plastic was carefully removed from a screwdriver and now I have to wait for replacment fan.
      Not doing the same fan removal again I wasn't sure if I could be able to use AIRDUST
      Edit: Now 2 GTX 780s I am considering of going for that ultimate 11 years old dual setup with an i7 3770K and 780 plus DDR3 of the fastest of it's time and seeing how that performance rakes in this years most popular games. Somebody may appreciate the SLI

      You will need a variable bench power supply. 0 to 30v atleast 5A as the source for this customer power supply. Rest of the circuit if from Tony from Northwestrepair.

    what's the and gate?
    is that N channel mosfet?

    • @GraphicsCardRepairs-tk7ql
      @GraphicsCardRepairs-tk7ql  Місяць тому +1

      AND gate is a logic gate. For example there are 5 pins on a logic gate, one of them being ground so what a logic gate does is if there is voltage on 2 of the pins then it lets voltage out on the 4th pin. So it's like voltage has to be present on 2 pins to get an output.
