OMG….do I remember raffia, I use to make hats, not as stylish as the Luca, but of my time….and lamps shades. You Would by the metal part and make beautiful lamp shades, and yes I am that old. But everything you make is beautiful…so. A real pleasure to listen to you….

Last summer I was on the hunt for a tee pattern that would work with some fingering weight cotton I had bought. I made the Enola tee by Jennifer Shiels Toland and it was the absolute perfect pattern for me and the yarn. I don’t think you’d love it, it’s a boat neck, but it is a great pattern.

I ❤watching yarn shows as I haven’t been to one yet. I’m hoping to be able to get to one at the end of April; this involves a 6 1/2 hour drive as I live 4 hours from the next closest town of any size. British Columbia, Canada is a huge province.
My latest thing with yarnology is watching yarn podcast. Fortunately I am able to watch UA-cam on my 55” smart tv, so you are pretty much ‘life size’ and it’s like having a friend over to chat about yarn crafts😊

I usually try knitting some cotton shirts and Sweaters for summer - A few years ago I made a simple raglan sweater with cotton-linen-blend, I used a bigger needle size and it has a great draping and a loose fit - and looks very summery, perfect for those summer nights you are out and about with friends and just put it on before it gets too chilly.
Also, James N Watts has some great lace-summer patterns for T-Shirts and tops - they are more on the not so subtle side, but I love them, especially for statement pieces.

I go to DisneyWorld at the end of August each year, a very hot weather time to go. The chill out scarf would be very useful to wet down in cold water and wear around the neck to help keep cool. I’m going to make one! Thanks for the ideas and sharing.

I suspect you may get better sweater weather than I do, even though you live in the Mojave area & I live in the UK, because while you get the extreme heat, you also get colder cold, and particularly dry cold. The temperature can be awfully samey here, no matter what the season. We don't get (usually) the very hot weather, but it's often mild enough to really not need a thick sweater and if it IS properly cold, there's a good chance it's also raining so you have to wear a waterproof to go out. I was always envious watching things like Gilmore Girls, where characters would sit outside in the autumn sunshine wearing a sweater! Add in that I tend to run hot anyway, and there's a reason I mostly knit shawls!

Make and do crew has a hat that looks a lot like the one you like (idk if they are on Ravelry as I havent looked) and two of wands has a pattern for a tee shirt called Mountain ringer tee that looks a lot like the one you have on in the video! Ive made 4 of them over the years and the patterns she writes are so well written. Thought maybe some of your viewers would like to check them out. Have a great day!

Oh I am so happy you discovered Susanne. She is an AMAZING designer. I have already knit various of her patterns. Her style is chic and clean, very modern and stylish. But not only the result is great, the process as well: Her patterns are sooo well written and obviously thoroughly tested. (I can't speak for the English translation, but I am quite sure it's as good as the German original). Ok, now I sound like a paid bot :-D ,,, No, really, believe me, you won't regret knitting her patterns. She has great hats and mittens, but also some gorgeous summer tops.

It's really cute, but I couldn't wear with without feeling like I was choking! (Speaking of that, have you considered scooped or v-neck tees in your store? I love the shirt designs, but cannot handle crew necks.)

Just discovered you recently and am really enjoying your podcast! I am enjoying your recommendations for patterns. However, please Do NOT wear your Lucca hat with a striped top--go back and look at that particular photo on the pattern's Ravelry page--it has a real Freddy Krueger vibe!!! LOL!

I’ve made the collett tea before, I honestly don’t recommend it. The pattern is very badly written, and there’s way too much fabric at the armpits. There’s plenty of free patterns that look the same (with long or short sleeves) and that are a lot clearer.
