Like most of everyone who commented here, I was hoping this video would have been more of a review and comparison of the products. I’m looking to buy and need to know more about the differences; why the tall and short models? The fact that the company produced this video and then didn’t bother to provide any specs or knowledgeable presenters makes me want to look into other brands.
I have the tall one, and it’s fantastic! I chose it because it has a small footprint, so doesn’t take up as much counter space. I use it a few times a week for fresh, sugar free ice cream for the family. The tall one also has a wider bowl, so I haven’t had issues with overflow. Best purchase I made over the pandemic! Highly recommend!!
Is one of those quieter than the other? I want one to make sugar free options.. at least, no sugar added. I like the tall one because it takes up less space, but I am curious about the sound.
Hey whynter, I got my maker about 3 months ago and for some reason it just started squeaking and it’s hard to work with, do you know why this might be happening?
OK, well one person below says it doesn't cool the mixture so it stays liquid. Something doesn't sound right. When I make ice cream in my 40+ years old White Mountain Ice Cream Freezer, the old fashioned wood bucket with the electric drive using ice and rock salt, it gets very, very thick but not solid. If it got solid it would over stress the electric motor. But it's very thick and then you transfer the thick mixture to a container and freeze it where it does get quite hard just like store bought ice cream. When you do layers of ice and then rock salt then repeat, it causes the ice melting point to go much lower than freezing temperature and that is exactly what is needed to make good ice cream. The White Mountain I have has a huge 6 quart capacity where the electric motor and metal gearbox are extremely heavy duty and the stirrer unit are triple action with all heavy duty metal parts except the two heavy duty thick rubber scrapers that scrape the sides of the canister. Yes, the thing is loud when it is running but it makes perfect ice cream every time. I put it outside to run it. Most people would say that it is too loud to make ice cream inside the house. The USA made White Mountain Ice Cream Freezer is actually still made but many parts are now cheaper plastic. Gone are the days when USA made things will last like forever and do what they are supposed to do. Never had any problems with mine but I admit there are ice cream makers made today that look very nice. I think I paid $42 for my unit years ago.
I've owned a Whynter Ice Cream Maker for a little more than a year and am extremely happy with my machine! Like stated in your comment, the ice cream base is churned into a soft serve consistency and is transferred into a container and put in a freezer to get hard. I've been wanting a White Mountain Ice Cream Maker for awhile, but they are really expensive.
@@WhynterLLC I got the 200 for Xmas, but the last return date is Jan 31. I was told by Customer Service that it might be available by the end of January, but looks like I'll be outside the window if it's indeed Feb. :( Thanks for the response.
Can you make italian ice with these machines? Is there's a recipe and cook guide for making ice cream and gelatos/sherbets/italian ice? I am looking to start small and make my own ice cream and italian ice to sell in a stand. I can't seem to find italian ice to purchase locally.
I just got mine yesterday, tried it today. Did not even cool the mix. I tried a small batch, and after an hour it was still liquid. Very disappointing.
No information about the units, how to use them, different types of ice cream they make, frozen yogurt, gelato, sorbet? Do I have to buy a special ice cream base? Can I make my own ice cream from scratch? This video is very Frustrating as there is no information what so ever that is considered useful. 😡Why the hell would I want to know about alcohol beverages from an ice cream maker? If I were you Whynter, I would be embarrassed by this video.

These two woman look tired and bored. it make me feel boring with not interesting of this product. This need to improvement otherwise will cause you to not get a new client. Especially the Right side that no glasses woman. She look no energy, to take, she may need to eat food before talk.

Hell yeah u can ! Italian ice and ice cream is made the same way. Italian Ice just has a different base.

If u tried anything with alcohol it always takes longer. Especially if u make it strong. Bc alcohol dosent really freeze
