Hi guys this video was so helpful ! We purchased it as well and have used it two times! Question, both times the blade stops spinning at about 15 minutes. Does yours do the same or is mine defective?
We bought ours "same brand" not even a year ago and it's not spinning anymore. I actually found your video looking for a fixing video. We use it quite a bit.
Oh no! That sucks and is good to know. Thanks for your comment Waiting On Jesus. Did you reach out to their Support? It seems like they're pretty responsive and if yours is less than a year than it should be covered under warranty.
That's awesome Princella. Thanks for watching and your comment! We're still using and enjoying our machine today, so we really stand by it. We hope you enjoy yours, and let us know what flavors you end up making!
Hi Tara! Great question, the churn time will really depend on a number of things (how big your batch is, what's in your ice cream base, how cold is your ice cream base when you pour it in, etc) but generally it's never taken that long to churn a batch. I think on average a batch would take about 30-45 minutes to churn.
We've had the machine now for just over a year and mostly used it during the summer time. We used it heavily in spurts occasionally, churning maybe 3-5 batches back to back without a problem. We've just begun to start up our ice cream making again and so far all is working well. We still really like the machine.
I've barely had much hands on time with mine yet, but so far so good. I went with this one because of the NYTimes Wirecutter endorsement. And because I personally prefer a high-ish overrun. I also had a disappointing experience with frozen bowl makers in the past because I had a fridge freezer that just couldn't freeze the bowl cold enough. It'd freeze it solid, no sloshing sounds, but apparently that wasn't sufficient. The ice cream would start to look promising but never get there. The end result would have big ice crystals and taste like a diet product, when it definitely wasn't. Now, I have a chest freezer that freezes things absolutely solid, but that whole experience has turned me off on them. Weird that Whynter makes it sound like the ice-201 is almost the same machine as the ice-200 but just in a different form factor when it really isn't, based on my very limited experience with the 200. It's quieter and runs at a little over twice the RPMs. I do wish it had a lower speed setting for gelatos and sorbets, though. My biggest concern is durability of the plastic gears after a few years of frequent use. It churning significantly faster than other home compressor machines also means that it stresses the motor components more than other home compressor machines. And in the couple of batches I've made so far, it was straining at the end yet still slooooowly turning at a snail's pace, before I hit the pause button, not wanting to play chicken by relying on the motor protection feature. So 🤞🤞
🤞🏻🤞🏻 good to know, we haven't run into any problems yet but will definitely post updates if we do. Extra speed settings would be ideal for churning gelatos, but since it is called an ice cream maker... It does as advertised ☺️
Those Kitchenaid stand mixers are good, but every attachment I’ve used just seems like a gimmick to get you to buy the mixer. You learn too late that the attachments are junk.
Yep, we do love our KitchenAid stand mixer and it's amazing for some stuff, definitely some attachments are better than others - but for making ice cream, we prefer this legit ice cream maker!
I love this. Super passionate about ice cream too. I hate how “frozen desserts” like Breyers mask their products as “ice cream.” Just got this. Got link suggestions for creamy ice cream base? Or your favorite or go-to recipes? I make my own pies and whipped cream. Hitting the trifecta with ice cream. Thanks!!
Haha yea, "ice cream" is kind of a general term nowadays, but to be fair - it's only recently come this far with all the food science developments. After we tested a bunch of base recipes, we've mainly been using Ph-rench version as our starting point for most of our experiments. Looks like you found our taro video, but just in case, our ice cream playlist is here: ua-cam.com/video/23WdwBhbw-U/v-deo.html Glad to have you along on the adventure!
Hi robinholbrook6576! It's actually not very noisy as appliances go. Plus, since it's self contained, it's something you can leave running for a duration and just come back to to check on it, unlike the Cuisinart.
We hope you love making ice creams as much as we do!

Getting mine today! Can't wait! Your review was very helpful.
How exciting! We're so glad our video was helpful, happy churning! If you're on any other socials, send us your ice cream adventures!
Are you happy about it

Thanks for your review. I've been doing my research and I've settled on this ice cream maker as well. So I will be going with this one

So nice they have a stainless steel bowl in this version.
Thanks for the info! Does it take the full 60 minutes to churn once batch?

I may get a whynter unit because of thus video
Thank you I was debating between the whyter, Cuisinart, and Breville!! Your review was so helpful thank you
Thanks Jennifer, we're so glad it was helpful!
what about Ninja creami? is it comparable to those 3? or not because of it is only capable to make small batches unlike the other 3?
how often do you make ice cream and is it still working and would you keep it?

@@AdventuresofCarlienne Thanks so much bought the 201sb and time running out to send back but I too love mine just wondering how long it will last

Really good video! There’s not a lot of videos with people using this product.
Thanks so much, glad to hear it - all of our ice cream videos use this product 😄and we've loved it so far. Happy churning!

How loud is it? The Cuisinart that is that size is terribly loud!

I just looked it up, it is instead pronounced like the season "winter" haha. Awesome video as always, now I want some mint chocolate chip! haha :)
I will get one
Worth it!
It's $700 in Canada. No thanks.
😅
That’s crazy, why is it so high there?
