Just bought this from farm and fleet excellent trimmer light weight quiet awesome I have used a corded trimmer for years watch the weeds grow now I can just pick it up and go whenever need to get rid of weeds. Yeah so far loving it 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏❤️
My Wife and I bought one of these about 2 years ago . But pretty much everything you talked about in this Video is new Info for me . For example , sliding in the Battery to 1 Click is Storage and 2nd Click is Operational . Great Video Dude . All of your Videos are outstanding . Hope you and your Family are doing well and staying safe . 🎸
Bought 12 days ago from ACE, issue I’m having is the string, after a while it stops automatically feeding the line and I have to stop, take it apart to manually feed it, tapping it on the ground doesn’t make it come out. I removed the white plastic .
Unfortunately, Stihl did not use the new heads with all of the FSA57 trimmers. They originally used an FSA56- it is NOT interchangeable and therefore, changing to a new head is expensive and cannot be done by homeowners. I own a ton of Stihl products and they would not replace this trimmer for me. NOT HAPPY! They told me to take it to premier dealers. I did and could not find one in state of CO! AGAIN, not happy.
@@OneCatShortOfCrazyhe got a dud if he ONLY doubled his run time switching from a 10 to 30. AK10 will last about 20 minutes continuously, AK20 lasts about 45. Never used an AK30 but I would imagine it would last well over an hour
Bought my FSA 57 today. Made in USA, no junk from Peoples Republic Communist China . . . Stihl Midwest was running a spring sale, so picked it up with AK20 battery & charger, all for $179.99. ($50 off msrp). Did some easy trimming and like it so far. Already have their blower and hedge trimmer with same AK batteries.
I'll have to watch this later.. I bought this model because my husband became disabled and could no longer start our hard starting gas powered one.. and I never could start it.. he wanted me to get a stihl and so far I am damn sorry I did. From the comments, looks like I"m not the only one having issues with the string. And the manuals are a JOKE.. so.. here's hoping this video will have some plain english answers for this old lady. I've taken to calling my weed wacker 'hitler's revenge'.. that's how frustrated I am.

Thank you so much for the demo - really helped when I was at the end of my rope, no pun intended, replacing the spool!

Awesome review. I just picked mine up with the optional 20 battery. Thanks

Get an AK 30 battery for it and use the orange charger that sthil use as charges way faster
How long does it last with the AK 30?
Mine goes for a long time. The ak20 is junk. Just making the swap to the 30 at least doubled my run time
@@AutoDad Wonderfull reply... So informative... Doubled your runtime.. now we know it works two times as long as UNKNOWN !!! 😐

Too heavy. I am old. The AK 20 lasts longer than I need.
Good. You were lucky to get the battery exchange imo.
W is the metal hanled in te motor?

Hi German stuff is well made and efficient from Clive in the UK England
You’re delusional if you think Stihl products aren’t made in China lol
Thanks for the help!
Does anyone know if this model can be used as an edger?
any trimmer can edge just depends on how steady you can hold a line
Does not work well as an edger- line breaks too easily!
It does NOT pivot to become an edger. Odd choice by Stihl. Otherwise a good product
Why did the electric fence cause you to have to get a different model? Please explain.
I got a bigger battery. Not different model
How much cutting time can you get with the ak20 battery?
22 minutes
wow! thank you!!!
Get the Echo easy load spool head! Works on most brands. $30
You are doing that barefoot 😮😮😂 good luck with that !! Thanks for the review
use .060 line for best performance.
so much nicer to wind new string ty
Only used once...only dropped once , lol!
👍👍
