This is gonna sound incredibly creepy Ryan, but as someone who worked at the same school as your dad, I can 100% vouch for his donut preference and that he called them his medicine. Also either he did the donut ordering for staff appreciation days or he had immense influence on whoever did. The maple ones were never left out of the mix.
My parents never lied to me about Santa. They explained to me that some kids believed in Santa for reals, but that they (my mom and dad) believed not in the old man, but in Santa as part of the Christimas spirit. So they told me I could chose to believe in Santa as part of the festivities or not, but I could not ruin the magic for the other kids. And I love that for me and my family.

Just gonna throw out there, I know a lot of people that started their periods at 10. I’m a huge believer that menstruation should be discussed and normalized as soon as a child is able to comprehend it. It’s when that information is withheld that we get stigma and trauma around periods.
Well yes but also there’s a time and place for those conversations and kids often ask questions at very inconvenient times!
I’m not explaining this to anyone in the target check out line!
@@paigey-poo4235 But you still don't have to lie. You can say, "remind me to tell you about it later, sweetie". and then do a quick distraction or something. but then actually explain. My mom explained menstruation to me at 6 years old and then a few times later, here and there and I remember being the only one of my friends who was prepared when I got mine, and the most non-plussed about it.
My mom explained little by little like when I was 7 and I asked what those pads were she said sometimes she bleeds and that way all I asked and then I asked other questions innocently and then when I needed to I knew exactly what happens
Yes I agree. Literally Ryan said in this video that the younger your parents tell you something the more normal and fact of life it is rather than it being something awkward and stigmatized.
Absolutely, exactly, for sure, the reason I came to the comments. I started mine at 11, and personally know people who did at 9 & 10. Plus, it's more rare, but there are sometimes 6-8 year olds that get it as well.

My parents told me Santa was real because they thought that we would feel bad If they told us we couldn't afford a certain gift and they found it easier to say "Santa must've forgot it" rather then "mommy and daddy couldn't afford it"
