Today, we're going to be playing a little game and try to match the celebrities to why they were "cancelled." Was it something actually wrong? Was is about Frozen Yogurt? We'll find out.

Why was Shane Dawson ever famous? I saw some of his videos back in the day and thought he was nothing special.
I think the reason everyone was mad at Vanessa is that her argument was that people die every day so we shouldn't try to prevent as many COVID deaths as possible and it went borderline into masking and social distancing is unnecessary territory. It was also just really tone-deaf to the privilege she has where she has the ability to choose to social distance and/or mask but there are so many of us essential workers who need to do that to survive because we can't just stay home.
Agreed. There were some communities that couldn’t even social distance, because their houses were close together. My aunt has neighbors dying from left and right. So, she never left the door and never opened her windows. It was mad.
I don't remember, but wasn't she really upset because the Covid restrictions meant that Coachella was going be cancelled - ruining her fun.
I just graduated highschool in May, but hearing Diggie... I mean Ryan sing the Froyo Yolo song made my whole year.

Imho, the issue w/ Vanessa wasn't her being blunt about Covid's toll, but the context of frustration at any measures to limit it. _So what if people are dying, this is cramping my style!_ It was irresponsibly blasé & selfish.

I don’t think people were mad that Vanessa said people dying was inevitable. People were mad that it was her excuse for why Coachella should have happened in April 2020.
I think a lot of people misunderstand the Demi situation. The issue they had wasn't to do with options being sugar free, but the fact they they were marketed as "guilt free". That type of marketing teaches impressionable children that you should feel guilty after eating certain foods and validates the disordered thoughts of people w EDs. (regardless, I don't think Demi should have sent their fans to attack the small business)
Ok I get the guilt free thing. Advertising uses wording that is not accurate sometimes or PC so to speak.
However, many people look for sugar free and gluten free and vegan free options so it is nice that the business is trying to appeal to many people as they can.
The part that makes me mad is that just one minuscule word or thing sets people off when it shouldn’t. There is a sense of entitlement with some people who think the world revolves around them and expect people to bend over backwards to appeal to them without thinking of others.
Not everyone does this, but the people who have this entitlement ruin things for others sometimes. That is what I am mad at.
The tweet mentioned “sugar-free” not “guilt-free” though, and Demi wanted them to label those foods clearly as being intended for diabetics.

I think some of these are missing context. In Gabi's case, she sold the content behind a paywall (ppv) and used a suggestive caption to go with it so people would buy it.

i think if we're gonna be so specific and compare how someone doing blackface and someone saying an unfortunate statement once both shared a moment in time being "cancelled" then we also should take in consideration the actual reaction people had and how much it holds down to the "cancelled" person's career. vanessa still has one. shane had to fucking flee the internet for a year lol (and even if he is trying to come back and there will always be people defending him and whatnot, the internet doesnt forget, and his career still got severely damaged in comparison to vanessa or even demi who has been called out for worse than just being mad at froyo)
like, dont get me wrong, so many people will do the most for the least harmful things. but if we want to compare so much then we shall compare the pictures in their entirety, otherwise is just comparing for the sake of your point

I know the black face thing is the only reason that Shane got cancelled but seriously wasn't that like before he did UA-cam ? And if so someone must have deep dived to find it and call him out because that just doesn't resurface after x amount of years same with Jenna marbles
So Shane has done three apology videos in his career (maybe four). His first was for blackface which he did for several different videos. He has done blackface more then 4 times in seperate videos and a lot of his early day youtube career was making fun of race. His second apology was due to him being on a podcast and calling a little girl (I think 13) sexy as well as saying that he has googled some creepy things relating to babies. He apologized for a few other things and some that he never apologized for, such as some nasty things he has stated he's done with his cat. The reason the blackface resurfaced is because Shane continues to do conterversial things and then return with next to no reprocussions (for example, his latest videos has a shit ton of views.) So yeah the blackface wasn't the only thing he was cancelled for, but it also wasn't before youtube. He did it a whole lot of times including having recurring characters with it.

Hey just wanted to put it out there OF is well known for explicit content and that maybe whatever the persons name is was majority doing on there but it is just a platform like other site where you pay for content. It doesn’t have to be explicit. Not a criticism just education. I understand what OF is well known for in the Tik tok and popular creator world.
I understand where you are coming from and of course you are right. But at the same time one must take into account what the majority does and/or expect there. F.e. you can find sexually explicit videos on youtube as well as on pornhub but people using pornhub are more likley to expect and interpret the content there to be sexual.
