It depends what you really want to see. For huge landscapes and animals, sure, Tanzania is much better. For the rest, I am not so sure, I've been to both countries and I overall prefer Mauritius, it is better in terms of infrastructure, convenience, views and food wise, but also more expensive.
Tanzania beats Kenya South Africa Seychelles and Mauritius in immigration officer attitude towards black people service value for money locals attitude etc. Beach party in Zanzibar is similar to Thailand without the obvious degeneracy.
While TZ is a beautiful country with wonderful people, Kenyans have been harassed in the hands of TZ officials...Nevertheless we Love our TZ brothers and sisters ... we celebrate their musicians and love to visit them.

I moved here 3 years ago. Years ago when I used to visit SE Asia I could smell the opportunity, but not so much these days. Now, I smell that opportunity in TZ. With few small changes, TZ will be a powerhouse. Everyone I know in TZ are proud of their country despite the usual struggle of life. Muslims and Christians accepting of each other, welcoming to foreigners. Couldn't ask for a better home.
I have just recently booked up to go to Tanzania. I'm climbing Kilimanjaro on the Lemosho route followed by a 3 day safari in the Serengeti for 2 days and the Ngorongoro crater for 1 day. Can't wait.
