Don’t forget we are due to get the new movie about Lee Miller coming out soon. For the U.K., I think it’s due to be released around 13th or 14th September, please don’t quote me on that! Kate Winslet plays the part of Lee, I can’t wait to see it.
One little-known film that flew well under the radar is "The Bang Bang Club," which stars Taylor Kitsch and Ryan Phillipe. It's based on the true story of photojournalists covering the conflicts during the last years of apartheid in South Africa, which includes the Pulitzer Prize winning photo of the starving ch!ld and the vulture.
Impressive list, though to this day, I can not make it through ‘Blowup’ without nodding off. I really want to like it but I just can not get into it. Anywho, as my background is Photojournalism, here are my pics (no pun intended)… Underfire (1984) Rear Window (1954) Salvador (1988) Shooter (1987 Made For TV). Not to be confused with the 2007 sniper film of the same name) I have yet to locate a copy or download of this, very rare film,
Here's one that most don't think about and it's not for everyone, Full Metal Jacket. The first half is about basic training and the characters and the second half is about the life of the main character during the Vietnam War as a combat journalist.
Oops, I thought you were going to be discussing people like Geoffrey Unsworth, Roger Deakins, Freddy Young, David Watkin and Isadore Mankovski, just to name a few. Guess not. I heard Cinema and photography, and naturally put both together.
Blow Out is probably De Palma’s finest film. High praise when you consider his body of work.
Great video, I enjoyed that, thanks.
for your next list, please consider "Under Fire" with Nick Nolte as a war photographer.
One of the best of the early days 🎉
Several of these movies are currently available on The Criterion Channel in the Photographer's Gaze collection. I especially enjoyed The Public Eye.

I have NEVER heard any notable movie person on this platform talk about Delirious. You’re the first as far as I’m aware.
Kodachrome (2017) with, among others, Elizabeth Olsen.
Totally agree. Ed Harris as good as it comes 🎉
@@RS-Amsterdam Ed Harris was great in this. His monologue in the hotel with the other photographers is just great.
Brilliant film.
Let's not forget Tom Dicllo's Box of Moonlight. Everyone's favorite, may I add.

Great idea. I look forward to the next upload.

Pardon is this sounds like a pun, but Pecker is a must see. It came out in 1998
Look up the word "pun".

My dvd of one hour photo had a commentary by Williams which is worth watching.
A good list, but... no "Under Fire" with Nick Nolte & Gene Hackman? Seriously? That movie pushed me to do what I do since 35 odd years...
This is part one. There will be more film discussed in future parts.
Joel Peter Witkin - an objective eye .
"Faces Places" 2017. If you haven't seen it, I'm a little jealous.
We'll Take Manhattan
The casting is so good almost real.
You on letterboxd? Love fellow photographers who have a mind for cinema
I am! My Letterboxd name is “shuat” and I’m on there constantly.
If you do this again, do Salvador by Oliver Stone.
La Jetée.
Yes! A movie composed entirely from stills!
Good for me!
The Bikeriders didn't do anything that seven seasons of Sons of Anarchy didn't
The first one doesn't have anything to do with photography, it should not be here.
Must admit watching Blow Up recently and finding it quite boring...sorry.
Not enough spandex or explosions? Sorry.
Didn't like the movie The blow up it was boring.
You're also bored with punctuation, apparently.
What? Not enough spandex? No explosions?
