    Great video. But at that price (330$), I would prefer to buy the next model which have all required sensors plus a larger rank of 1.6l. Yes the next model cost another 2 or 300 $ more depending on country and discount but it is just a matter of choice. Personally 330$ for such basic sensor is way too high, should be available for half that price.

      @mitchdoescoffee  9 місяців тому

      The esperto Abile is much more than $200-$300 more than the Europiccola. You may be confusing the boiler gauge for the pressure profiling gauge (not a basic sensor)

    • @vinct7023
      @vinct7023 9 місяців тому

      @mitchdoescoffee I agree my bad English. I mean it was 300$ more on top of the 300$ sensor on top of the Europicolla, which give roughly 1600/1770$

    nice mod I think it adds a lot in terms of shot consistency but I have mixed feelings about it because maybe it takes away that "drive by feel" sensation that I love so much about this machine just like an old classic car you want to feel it while you drive it not watching gauges hope it makes sense

      That is actually a very good point... 👍
      My only concern is that I am going to be putting some rather high quality beans through this thing soon & I've learnt that I was DEFINITELY pulling way more than 9bar previously... In my opinion, it is well worth the sacrifice of tradition if the final result is a better coffee 💪

      @@mitchdoescoffeeI’m considering this mod. I’m curious though, do you have an idea of what 8-9 bars feels like? Sometime I feel like I’m applying as much pressure as I can (perhaps ground too fine) but maybe that’s what 9 bars should feel like, or is that like 12-15 bars? I truly don’t know how much pressure I’m pulling at, but my shots taste pretty good. I just want more consistency. Thanks! Great video

    Going to get one of those kits, I suspected I wasn’t getting to 9 bar however even “poor” looking shots still tasted OK. It’s got me thinking low pressure vs the “ideal” 9 bar is better to get fuller richer tasting shots. Not sure what the science says about 9 bar being the ideal pressure?

    • @mitchdoescoffee
      @mitchdoescoffee  Рік тому +2

      I found I would have been pulling WAY over 9bar of pressure... The Coffee is so much better now. I will be doing a follow up video in 2 weeks after some experiments 💪

    Comes all this lubricant in coffee?😮 it looks like to have direct contact with the water.

    • @mitchdoescoffee
      @mitchdoescoffee  Рік тому

      Yes. It is a food safe grease & it is designed for this application. But you should always dump a few dead shots after servicing any machine to wash away the excess.

    The 9 bars on the La Pavoni's 51mm grouphead may affect the coffee grounds differently from the E61 machine's 58mm grouphead. Or, it might not at all. What's your take on this?

    • @mitchdoescoffee
      @mitchdoescoffee  Рік тому

      Under some circumstances, this will definitely throw some variables around. It would take alot of testing to measure exactly what is being effected.

  • @mooriginal

    I wondered. Going to buy a new machine perhaps. Do you think doing this mod will void the warranty?

    • @mitchdoescoffee
      @mitchdoescoffee  4 місяці тому

      I would assume so. Any modifications to a machine will upset the manufacturer. However, LaPavoni has been around long enough to not really worry about these things... They have been proven to last through time. 👍

    Hi Mitch is there a way to reduce the pressure of my Torino. I watched the video you did on this model and you commented on how high the pressure was, I have the same problem. Also when ever I make a coffee the puk stays in the group head. unless I use a basket filter, single shot double even bottomless it still won't release the puk. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to hearing from you Cheers Barrie.

      Hi Barrie... This is possible. Depending on your D.I.Y skills... my favourite version of this is in this link below.

    • @mitchdoescoffee

      That doesn't sound right. It sounds like you might have an issue with the grouphead inner sleeve.

    Not really necessary as you can feel the right pressure in the handle and repeat it accurately enough. There are more impactful pavoni mods out there

    • @mitchdoescoffee
      @mitchdoescoffee  2 місяці тому

      I strongly disagree with this. How do you know what is "right"? This mod has made by far the biggest difference to making espresso on my LaPavoni
