Love how it’s all a game for Legolas and Gimli.
They're invincible, the story is already written. They will never lose 😉
It is what inspired that beatemup GameCube game aftercall.
Technically, elves are superhuman beings capable of doing everything effortlessly and dwarves are expert combatants with sophisticated crafts, so it really should be a game.
There's always room for some friendly competition LoL
real
I just love how Aragorn had such confidence in Legolas that he called him to take care of the Oliphaunt.
i think he was warning him like, "don't go over there" and legolas was like, "i'm going to kill this and most possibly die."
Shadow of the Colossus, LotR version
@kellywronka3967 nah, Legolas is a badass. However this scene annoys me because even though everyone was fighting, Legolas would have known it was close and taken out the threat without having to be told to do so.
@@underthefallenstars2788 Having a scene where a human trusts you the task to kill a giant mammoth with just a bow and some arrows is dope
I think it was more of a “heads up, dumbo, is heading your way” sorta thing
I know when Aragorn yells "Legolas!" as the elephant approaches hes probably just warning him but I want to believe he meant it like "take it down!" which is amazing that aragorn just trusts lego to take down this behemoth.
Even if elephant steps on legolas, he will die. Because he is LEGOlas
People in the cinema actually applauded this scene when I saw it in the cinema 20 years ago.
I would too
I know I did! 🙌🏾
I sure did! 👍💪
Oh, *yeah*
Say cinema again
Legolas did all this...By himself....with just a bow and arrow...
Boss Status..
IT STILL ONLY COUNTS AS ONE
@@noahlobue472 😂
And eomer killed 2 with one spear throw.
And broken physics
3 arrows! 🤓
The score that plays as Aragorn is cutting down all them orcs is truly magnificent. Symbolising the True King of men’s return to Gondor, his homeland after years of denying it doing all he can to protect his lands. Absolute chills
Yeah, this scene is honestly a lot better in the theatrical cut as it flows along so much better without Eowyn and Gothmog being there.
@@AimForMyHead81 completely agree, the threatical version of this battle works so much better.
Aragorn: Legolas!! (Watch out for the oliphant)
Legolas: Take down the entire army and the oliphant, got it
Hahhaah😂😂😂
Gimli: That still only counts as one!
You got an elephant?
I’ve got an elf.
Today marks 20 years since this movie came out and I can never get bored of it, especially this scene 🥳🥳🥳
I love how the oliphaunt tries to slap Legolas off his tusk with his trunk
Attention to detail :D
And then again with its tail
And again when on the side with his trunk again, he tries to reach the blondie elfy and couldn't.
"That still only counts as one"
- Gimli
😂😂😂😂. Love that line
It's never fails to hear It.
Lets go baby come'on!
- Also Gimli.
Too be fair, Gimli was right, that's only one. 🤣
Yeah we watched the video
Aragorn shouting "LEGOLAS" like "come on, be epic and kill the trampling fortress and Legolas looking like "Alright, this might actually work, hold my beer" was something I overlooked to this point
Sauron "I have an army"
Aragorn "We have,... an elf."
0:53 : that sound will never get old 😂
One of the greatest movies of all time. 10 & hours and 3 parts but all one story and magnificently done. 😊
That guy Wilhelm has had it pretty rough. He's been shot into a bottomless pit, knocked into a Sarlacc, nearly been run over by Indy, fallen off Helm's Deep, and now he thrown off a Mumak.
Yeah, Hi. That's me.
Not to mention snatched up by a fell-beast and dropped to his death. Wilhelm actually dies two deaths in this movie alone.
What a scream!
Unlike the other creatures in Sauron's army the oliphaunts weren't evil. They were just large powerful animals that had been enslaved by cruel men. When I first saw the films I had hoped that as a fellow creature of nature Legolas would find some way to communicate with them and get them to turn against their masters
i too was upset when he killed it instead of just turning it away
Instead of driving 3 or 4 arrows into the base of the oliphaunts skull, (I wonder) if he gently petted the animal it may have reacted in a peaceful way. - run on sentence aside. 0:53 Wilhelm scream.
It’s very likely that the Elephant is going to head to the river to drink and relax after Legolas free it.
It had stomped several Rohirrim to death by that point, it deserved no mercy.
Its been slave and trained for who knows how long it would be hard to fix that creature so its better to kill it than do more damage
Legolas. The original parkour champion.
what is an elufu, (looks at child photos of myself)
oh ya,
eat that giants (stares at fallen elephants)
I love Gimli and Legolas' friendship so much
Would love to see an edit of Gimli doing this, Gimli does everything Legolas does, throws his throwing axe to kill the Oliphant, slides down its trunk, ( looks at Legolas ) Legolas shoots the Oliphant still and is like “it was twitching” Gimli’s say’s “it was twitching because it’s got my axe embedded in his nervous system” 😂
He can’t. Dwarves can’t do that kind of thing.
@@HooDatDonDar Elves can't either. That doesn't happen in the books hahah
This scene is soo epic
You're telling me. All hail Peter Jackson.
@@taajwarpope2708 Peter Jackson for president
legolas goes down as the greatest companion for battle.❤
Imagine Gimli running as fast as the oliphant so that he can deliver this terrific one liner at the end XD
Always thiught it was funny how the oliphant was running at them and kept running for a good minute before legolas killed it and somehow gimli was in front of it when it came down 😂
Probably Aragorn tossed him again😂😂
"It still only counts as one!" That line cracks me up every time!
That look Bloom gives at the 0:25 is terrific
one that went down with style.
Great job
I like how Aragorn calls on Legolas when there's a big baddy. Did the same thing at Helm's Deep with the su!c!de bomber.
I love how he finishes off the Oliphaunt, slides down the trunk, and lands in front of Gimli like:
"How 'Ya Like Me Now?"
Legolas is an ELF NINJA!!
“That still only counts as one!!!”
Aragorn, Gimli, and Legolas I can describe in one word. "UNSTOPPABLE!!!!!!!!!..."
As much as I love the death of Gothmog in the extended edition, that 20second montage of Aragorn slaying orcs to the Gondor theme is too good.
Legolas : twenty three
Gimli : twenty one
Aragorn : can I play too
Gimli and Legolas : no you’ll win
Gimli might think that, but I don't think Legolas will.
I love the fact that aragorn is asking Legolas to take it down lol
1:34 😂 I love that line
haha the Willhelmsschrei at 00:53 😂
-Legolas, Sauron!
-Done.
-That still counts as one!
1:34 Gimli: That still only counts as one.
0:52 "AAAUUUUGGGGHHHHH!!!" 🙀
Aragorn: Can you kill that.
Legolas: Idk. Imma try to anyway.
That close range shot is exactly what Legolas did in Return of the King.
a sindar wood elf like legolas taking down a mumakil by himself makes me think of the host of the valar in the first age, and the damage those elves could do.
Greatest Legolas scene hands down!!!
Gimli: THAT STILL ONLY COUNTS AS ONE!!!!
The musical score when Aragon is cutting down opponents 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
he’s the best character all the way
How he went to the ground, he has style
Legolas has to be one of the best characters
thats why they are still milking this character xD...... it does makes sense that he was present in the hobbit ^^ but the hobbit is 1 book.
@@rezanurmohamed3326 WB was behind that. They wanted more money.
Legolas is OP af: 😁
Galadriel is OP af: 😡
Imagine hearing an enemy dwarf shouting numbers in battle and he counts higher and louder the closer he gets to you. Tally me up
That oliphaunt had to learn the hard way not to step on a Lego
If after conquering all the combatants on the beast, instead of driving 3 or 4 arrows into the base of the oliphaunts skull, (I wonder) if he gently petted the animal it may have reacted in a peaceful way. - run on sentence aside. 0:53 Wilhelm scream.
This is beautiful
I find it hilarious that Aragorn, instead of using his ghost army, calls upon Legolas to kill that giant beast, and he did it successfully. In the same fight, we see moments later that the ghost army takes out the remaining Oliphaunts, so why not just use them? Because Legolas is a badass.
He might have just been warning him.
"Holy Hannah!" 😮
Notice that Legolas is making at least 500m on an Oliphaunt's back in front line, and Gimli is patiently waiting for him at the finish, easy peasy.
It seems our mascot dwarf overtook his sprinting skills since their Uruk Haï chase in the Riddermark.
0:54 sounds familiar
Ben Woods
Bro was strict with numbers no matter big or small
Elrond to Aragorn: You need more Soldiers.... Legolas: Hold my beer
01:24 Straight in the weak spot!
People talking about Legolas taking down an oliphaunt on his own forgetting the two siblings, eomer took down two with just 1 spear throw and eowyn took one down with just two swords, and one was made of orcish material, not the best, and an oliphaunts hide is tough so that’s impressive on the both of them
This is based on an idea in the book, believe it or not. Elves are shown to have great balance and co-ordination skills - Legolas at one point runs across a tight rope without a handrail. This is just a ( barely )plausible extension of the idea.
In the screening I was at, a bunch of characters were so moved, they got up and started doing fist pumps. In the very back row, so no one’s view was blocked.
That's pretty good but Éomer took down two Mûmakil with one spear.
orlando bloom: short af
gimli: 6 foot 6 giant bearded dude.
(the actor portrayals tell a story of how technology advanced)
Me remembering my Legolas fangirl stage with shame:
Also me watching this clip and remembering exactly why I went through that fangirl stage:
Will Turner for Life
Moving around a lot
Anyone else would have ran to the side
Legolas looked at the beast and just thought "yeah i can kill it" and ran full speed at it
Legolas was said to have only been scared of one thing, the Balrog.
@@MrTmax74 scared of a servant of the satan of middle earth? Makes sense
Aaiieee!@@MrTmax74
That slide down at the end should have counted as 10 kills. He also killed like 20 people in the process. Gimli totally lost at helms deep too.
To quote Nostalgia critic, “Legolas could’ve won this war all by himself!”
Legolas is a superhero let’s just accept it
0:22 какой эпичный музон!
0:53
Anyone know the amazing score that plays at the start of this clip? At 0:02
I would like to know too
It’s a slightly different version of the Minas Tirith theme
Lords ❤
This is the moment things start to get a bit far fetched. Legolas may as well have been a superhero in the hobbit films.
LOL
That's elves for ya lmao
Legolas is a direct descendant of one of the oldest and most powerful groups of Elves in Tolkien's lore. This is a common Sindar W.
Yeah, he seemed kind of over the top here. But according to Tolkien, Legolas was incredible. Tall and strong with basically superhuman ability. So I suppose he could do this, but they never really bring that out in the movies.
@@MrTmax74 anyone who read the Silmarillion watched this scene and was totally unbothered lol.
Orlando Bloom was born to play Legolas and Will Turner

Don't get me wrong. This scene? Perfect. Legolas? clearly a badass. Hotel? Trivago. But, hear me out. Eomer did take out TWO Oliphaunts with a SINGLE spear throw. like?? give Eomer a fricken medal, PLEASE!
Will the Throne of Rohan suffice?
I gave my man Eomer a medal right after his first meeting with Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli; specially the book one. A genuine badass.
0:53 Wilhelm Scream
When there is abig threat
Aragon : Legolas!
PETA gonna sue him for sure 😂
Helldivers 2, even if you take out a hulk or a strider. It still only counts as one!
After all that the writers said that legolas was just an average elf, so any other elf could have done the same.
The only other two people from fantasy taking this bet is Bronn of blackwater and Jamie Lannister during the long night
Is it just me or Legolas reminds me of a younger Elrond 😁😁
Legolas!!!
Everyone likes to forget my boy Eomer took out two oliphants in 10% of the time it took Legolas with a spear throw, two for one special.
In Eomer we believe.
He is a mere human. Humans must use their greatest weapon - their brain.
Elmer worked out the tactical situation, and acted!
did the mumakil walk in a circle or is Gimli just really fast? :D
Elves are just a built differently like Mr. Greenleaf weighs around 3kilos
Epic...
Legolas still couldn't match Eomer, as Legolas did not think to use this Oliphaunt to ram another one and thus take down two.
At least that would count as two, not one.
Well, to be fair, there wasn't another Oliphaunt for Legolas to ram it into.
This is an amazing scene, but it never happened in the books. But everyone including me loves the scene. On the other hand, Galadriel defeats a snow troll and it also never happened in the book … and that scene although also epic is not good…? Having read the books way before any type of movie or anyone other than us nerds knew Tolkien existed, I can say , they are both good
Its a Mûmakil god damn it
Even if elephant steps on legolas he will die. Because he's LEGOlas
There are two kinds of people.. The ones who hates this scene. And the ones who loves this scene. I'm the latter.
Still counting

To be fair. It only counts as 1
