What he has achieved against the best teams in the world in 2024 with the modest resources and a talent pool smaller than most provinces in SA is absolutely amazing!!!
Rassie is probably the best man manager the game has seen and currently one of its greatest innovators. He's best attribute coaching wise I think is to recognise where he isn't as strong and then surrounds himself with talent to fill the gaps. Jacques Nienaber will go down as one of the best defensive coaches in history. Felix Jones will go down as the guy who revolutionised how video analysis is done in rugby. Tony Brown already was one of the most gifted tacticians the game has seen. And Daan Human, by God, he might very well be the best scrummaging coach ever. So while he himself is a coach at the very tippy top, his ability to pick the right guys as his assistants is what I think earns him the title of best coach in rugby.

His video analysis was the only dirty trick, but I think it was needed for world rugby to get their medicine. The autumn games showed this with the bench he selected and timing of subs etc and fact Scott Robertson ended up as B as well shows it's just wrong. Because there is always that nagging feeling about whether it's the coach, the players, the direction, the funding, the timing, etc. A guy like Warren Gatland is a prime example - we know he is one of the best coaches in the world and he has taken Wales to heights not seen since the 70's. Yes, he is currently on a very poor string of results, but considering the poor corporate structure in Wales, considering the amount of talent that the Welsh team have lost, could anyone in the world have done a better job? And Rassie Erasmus - who is almost at the level of a deity here in South Africa and I will follow that man into the trenches if asked - yes, he brought the Boks back to relevance, but most South African fans will know that we could have stumbled and lost both world cups, especially given those trifecta of one point wins last year. Good on you lads for trying to be as fair as possible given the rules of the game.

Indeed, could have won one or two more 6 nations and maybe go further during the last WC (but hey they played the boks and lost by one point). And all those talents are selected and discovered on the international scene because of Galthie. France always has had talent but wasn't managed properly.
