@@juddakooda9520 the thing compared to snarl is that the hail chip damages your teammates and it's slower, and someone would easily change the weather or priority that would kill it like BP or just a faster mon like a scarfer or specs pult with flamethrower, while snarl is better is because of its priority screens. It doesn't matter most of the time if it takes 2 turns to set up screens because you can tell from the mon you're fighting against, set up light screen first Infront of a special attacker or set up reflect first Infront of a physical attacker.

Went to test in on ladder and won a few games, but most importantly one opponent said I was bad and only swept his entire team because I was using a broken mon, which is the highest praise one can get. All thanks to your teambuilding videos.

Rain also deserves a special mention for being non-HO HO. The gen VII fundamental team consisted of pelipper, mega swampert, ash greninja, tapu koko, ferrothorn, and tornadus therian. Something you may notice about the last two are that they are defensively oriented pokemon. Pelipper is also quite bulky. But you can still see the fingerprint of HO in all of them. Leftovers? Not a chance. Ferro and torn are there to sponge a few hits to let in your sweepers. Ferro also never runs leech seed or thunder wave. Leech seed takes too long to do anything and recovery is not worth your time. Mega swampert outspeeds all but a few scarfers, and tornadus eats them for breakfast. Even pelipper, PELIPPER, can try to run choice specs to get a possible 2HKO on toxapex.

Gen 7 ou rain truly is a beautiful and busted style thanks to the 4 mon core pelipper, swampert, ferrothorn and tornadus therian and honestly ash greninja is just too good to pass up most of the time.

What distinguishes a wallbreaker from a sweeper? Also, what does HO look like in 3v3?

    • @NathanLikesChicken
      @NathanLikesChicken  4 роки тому +21

      It's a thin line.
A sweeper wants to knock out several or all of the opponents' pokemon in a row, which is usually achieved by using a speed/attacking boosting move like shell smash, or sometimes an item, like choice scarf on a slow/strong pokemon, or a choice specs/band on a fast/weak pokemon.
There's a lot more to it than that, like sometimes a pokemon like kommo'o can sweep without being fast by boosting it's DEF with iron defense until nobody can touch it, then sweeps slowly. But the general idea is they want to just smoke the enemy one pokemon at a time without much retaliation.
A wallbreaker doesn't really care about its defenses or speed as much, and just wants to swap in, and be able to immediately hit the opponent really hard. Sirfetch'd, for example, doesn't have much bulk, or much speed. But it has so much attack, that even defensive walls like ferrothorn, toxapex, etc can't swap into it safely - letting it break open those walls for the sweepers to take advantage of later.

Ik this is an old vid but if you're in with helmet hippowdon vs suicide lead exca, you always click earthquake turn 1. Then you click stealth rock because they excadrill is at 1% and if they rapid spin they die to helmet (if you die to helmet/life orb as you rapid spin, hazards dont go away)

  • @FireflyOnyx

It seems my team is hyper offensive. I play Gen 8 National Dex AG, here's the team.
Protean Greninja with Spikes, Toxic Spikes, Haze and Scald.
I know alot of people run it for damage, but it's speed stat helps alot with set ups and I can get off at least two toxic spikes before it goes down and protean can be really helpful when I make the right calls on what type to switch to, I often go into spikes for the ground typing so it can't get thunder waved or hit with any damaging electric attacks. I actually had it use spikes and be immune to a electric z move recently, I think they walked away from their computer for a bit after that. Despite all this, these aren't the main reasons for the choice. I picked Greninja because of Haze. There's lots of strange set ups in Gen 8 National Dex AG such as Eevee with it's z move and Belly Drum Azumaril which get completely ruined by Haze, it's gotten me alot of forfeit victories and stops set ups that could sweep my team.
Mega Charizard X with Dragon Dance, Dragon Claw, Fire Punch and Earthquake.
One of my sweepers, all it takes is mega evolution and one dragon dance and it one shots most things and two shots more bulky pokemon. It also lasts alot longer than most expect because I bulked it up a bit so it can't be one shot and very rarely two shot. I've sweeped entire teams with this one several times.
Contrary Serperior with Leaf Storm, Giga Drain, Glare and Taunt.
I was actually running it with scarf or specs until recently with a toxic stall + dragon tail set in the back, but I swapped to wide lens to not waste any leaf storms and glare and taunt help to shut down stallers, set ups and sweeper a like while it heals back up with a boosted Giga Drain. It clears out most threats with ease and anything it can't handle gets shut down with Glare. One of my favourite pokemon to use.
These next two will be done in one go as they rely on eachother for the set up.
Venomoth with Quiver Dance, Whirlwind, Baton Pass and Sludge Bomb.
Espeon with Dazzling Gleam, Pyshock, Signal Beam and Shadow Ball.
    Both holding sash.
This pair was an oddball pick, but I find it to be alot of fun when I get the set ups. Venomoth is mostly there to either tank alot of hits or only one as long as it gets up a Quiver or two before baton passing. Preferably two, Espeon is unstoppable with two. Espeon gets alot from these boosts and sweeps entire teams with dynamax to keep it around awhile longer. Sadly, I rarely get off the set up, I might need to play things a little different and figure out what Venomoth can easily wall to get off more Quivers along with possibly swapping Whirlwind or even Sludge Bomb for a high power bug move because of those all too common steel types. Actually, maybe I'll throw in hp fire, it could be quite the play. Well, at least it's a stall team's worst nightmare because status don't hit Venomoth very often and Espeon reflects them with Magic Bounce.
Florges with Aromatherapy, Defog, Magic Coat and Wish.
A brand new member of the team I just swapped in and fits absolutely perfectly. Aromatherapy gets rid of annoying status effects, it's a perfect wish pivot to heal up the team to lengthen how long they can sweep, has defog to remove stealth rock which break Charizard and Magic coat to bounce back annoying statuses and hazards. Before hand I was running Clefable, but all it really did was be a check for Mega Raquaza with fairium z, which I might have Florges do now by swapping Magic Coat for a fairy move and setting the z crystal.
I've been working on this team for years and they mean alot to me, won me alot of games and been really fun to play. ^-^
Edit: Actually swapping back to Clefable after learning about Wish and Teleport. It can't defog like Florges can, but is a much better wish pivot. I might swap between the two here and there to see which one works better for my team.
