We should never accept with quiet embarrassment what happened to Kim Garam. And the MAIN REASON, apart from the justice she deserves, is that THIS COULD HAPPEN TO ANY OTHER IDOL. AND WE DON'T WANT TO MAKE THE SAME MISTAKES WE MADE WITH GARAM. If we're quiet about cases like this and cases like Woojin's and cases like Soojin's, we are doomed to forget the profound impact and pain these situations had on people, and consequentially cause the same pain to other artists. Kpop fans ruined this girls life. We ruined her career and her dreams and she accepted it with grace and disappeared. We can't be doing this to everyone. I hope we never do it again.

"Yes, I'm still talking about Kim Garam" AS YOU SHOULD. "Getting over her" is not fair. "Getting over her" is forgetting her and this horrible case, it's letting the wrong side win. I'll never shut up about this cuz what people did to her is disgusting and plain stupid. Everyone saying "She was here for two weeks, you have issues if you're attached" are just ashamed and guilty now that they've been proven wrong. We're not "weirdly attached to a 16 year old", we're just not okay with a child having her dreams ruined over lies and "for fun" of people that see her as nothing more than passing drama in their otherwise boring lives. And it's so funny that people were shitting on HYBE when they were defending her and taking proper action as a good company should and now I see people shitting on HYBE cuz apparently "they didn't protect her and shouldn't have kicked her out" 💀 as if they literally weren't forced to do it 💀💀 I'll ALWAYS be pissed about this. How so many people can be this stupid and disgusting is beyond me. I'll never stop being angry about this, NEVER.
Edit: People are misunderstanding, I'm not being actively angry about this or on her behalf. I simply refuse to forget what happened to her, and all the other people who suffered in similar situations. I'm empathizing and taking responsibility as part of the community that was responsible for all of this. Once again, forgetting is letting the wrong side win.

I completely agree that people should be angry I just hope people don't let this ivershine the groups success and how they are now. People shouldn't say they're better with 5 or 6 members because their line-up is never gonna change now. I personally don't think about Garam because she wasn't a member long enough and I had no attachment to her as a member of the group but I do agree that she should not have been kicked out of the group and that what happened to her is terrible. It's not okay for people to say they should get over what happened but I think it's fair to say that I don't talk about the Garam situation because I simply don't have enough attachment to it whether or not it is sad and annoying

YES! Kpop netizens are mostly shallow people, they cannot reflect on their own actions and wrongdoings. I know there are MANY children who are obsessed with Kpop and will gladly take sides, but they still add to the problem. Also, I don't think I have to mention the adults as described. I really would love to see her re-debut, I've been checking but no news 😢

Finally someone with a platform who has a brain! Thank you. She was only 12 and all she did was curse at someone who shared a nude of her friend! People do way worse shit in school than just defending their friends!
I'm still not over Garam's situation even though she wasn't my bias! She worked hard for years to be able to debut in one of the most popular kpop groups, she deserved to live her dream life.
Some may have genuinely believed she's a bully but most were simply jealous of her beauty and her position.
I really wish Hybe hadn't let her go ... 💔 although I kinda understand why they did it.

-Right now she's at school of performing arts and she will graduate next year, she's studying actuation so it looks like she will become an actress since that was her original dream. But there's still a chance to see her on stage again.
-She received a lot of gifts from her China fans some months ago and she's grateful for that.
-There's been rumors that she's going to open her ig account soon because of a photo that Yudimi posted

thank you for continuing the discourse on this. the point is that this isn't just about Garam, its about all of the idols who have had their careers and reputations destroyed at a VERY young age based on often fake or unproven allegations/accusations. when ravn of oneus was forced out of the group AFTER Garam's whole ordeal was settled i couldn't believe it. we STILL hadn't learned anything. This could still happen to any idol in the industry :(

As an almost 4-year-old To Moon, I SO agree. OT5 To Moons should be ashamed as hell for celebrating him leaving as well, because in comparison to Le Sserafim (not saying they weren’t saddened by Garam’s departure, they certainly were) you could CLEARLY see just how devastated and heartbroken the ONEUS members were knowing they no longer have Ravn, who was like the group dad to them. People never learn, and the scariest part is that idols like him, Garam and Soojin won’t be the last ones who’ll suffer.

  • @Yisabeilaa

She was literally bullied for supposedly being a bully (?)!
The thing I hate the most about Kpop discussions online is that 99% just follow what the current trending opinion is. Everybody loves Aespa until one day, a popular video said that they're lacking skills and the comments agree with it. Since this moment and for a few months, I saw hundreds of videos and thousands of comments hating on Aespa. Same happens with IVE : someone said they look like coworkers and it was over, everyone suddenly felt the same. And don't get me on the "my unpopular opinions" that are most of the time stuff that everybody is saying !
Also : liking comments is also participating in the hate ! Having 5 top comments saying mean things is something, but these comments being liked thousand times is something else for the idol that may be reading them ! It's also the "likes" that make an opinion trendy or not !
What's sad is that I see people everyday repeating the same kind of mistake with new idols (targeting some idol for random reasons and cyber bullying them). These past few days it's been Kendall from Vcha (new JYP GG). I really hope she doesn't read too much what is being said online... Poor girl is only 16. If she goes into hiatus (or worst) the same people will be like "poor one she was so young and people were so mean".

Tbh, I actually started following Le Sserfim when all this Garam scandal was going on. So I did not the full scope of it.
But during that time whichever K-tuber video I saw, they seem to be saying the same thing.
    1) They were blaming Hybe for not doing background check on the members before taking them in the grp.
    2) Then they blamed Hybe for having some underhanded shady deal with Garam to have been protecting her even when so many rumours about her was going on.
3)When Hybe put her in hiatus, and put out a statement, every k-tuber started pointing out that why Hybe was so hell bent on keeping a bully in their company and destroying other girls future
    4) Finally when the contract was terminated, suddenly all the k-tuber tone changed and they started saying that Hybe is awful at managing grps, they cannot even take care of a member, they couldn't even give proof and threw a girl out and destroyed her future.
When all this happened, I was appalled at the hypocrisy of K-tubers. From everywhere Hybe was pressurized. Esp kookielit, that channel is awful. They spread so much misinformation and hate and then tried to act innocent when Garam's contract was dissolved. I am ashamed to say that even I got into their words and thought maybe Garam was at fault and Hybe should not promote her as it is affecting the other girls. But after everything ended and I saw the true colors of this k-tubers and how they then started showing that Garam was innocent, I was extremely angry on myself. I decided to never look at any other k-tuber video as it is disgusting how much misleading info they give and how hypocritical they are.
You are only one who actually said that Hybe was not wrong to protect their artist and took clear stance. So I decided to listen to you till the end. And now I feel even worse to have come under the influence of these Ktubers words. I hope the girl can build her career safely in future.

Even there are two veteran which are Sakura and Chaeweon, Garam and Yujin still managed to shy. She also could be the visual of the group for real. It’s honestly perfect how much “things” slot into place when looking at Le Sserafim as a concept of 6:
3 members chasing a dream (Yunjin, Garam, and Eunchae) where as there are 3 members redefining themselves (Sakura, Kazuha, and Chaewon)
3 higher / brighter vocals (Sakura, Chaewon, and Garam) with 3 more deep / cooler vocals (Kazuha, Yunjin, Eunchae)
Sakura and Garam being the dual Visuals (Matured Elegance with Maturing Elegance)
Kazuha and Eunchae being killer dancers (Precision and Energy)
Chaewon and Yunjin being the Stage Presence bosses & Monster vocalists (Or as I nickname them, “The one’s who Mother ™️”)
I hate how hyperactive my imagination can be sometimes because I can see every possible detail of how OT6 Antifragile and even OT6 Unforgiven could be, and I’ll never get to see it.
“But what about Eunchae?” Well she’d still 100% be an MC, host her own show, and no doubt still Rep the Antifragile opener (Garam would just get either the opening line or part of Yunjin’s Line. Because let’s face it, they were both made “the rival” because of different things from their past, just look at PD48 and Mnet’s History of Evil Editing).
In Conclusion: I’m big angy and I won’t forget THE Opener / Closer to the Fearless Album. I especially won’t forget her because she was one of the first forms of K-pop merch I bought.

I'd probably get jumped by this but I firmly believe that knetz (and many kpop stans in that matter) are not happy seeing women being successful (except for their ults). Hence they were looking for something to prevent that from happening. They saw Garam and knew she had potential to be that huge, but at the same time she was an easy target because she hasn't harnessed that much power yet. This is so sickening and until now I still feel sad and frustrated everytime I see Le Sserafim. I love the other members too and I don't wish them to suffer from this, but it is so unfair that up until now nothing has been said about the truth and some people still thought Garam was guilty. The only proof she wasn't a bully was on someone else's IG, not on any official platform. Nothing was learned. This will keep happening in the future. Innocent underaged kids will keep becoming victims. This is not okay.

Thanks for the analysis and clip list. I stumbled onto LSF around antifragile and was kind of perplexed about this ex-member getting all this hate and thinking how it was even a scandal. Not exactly Burning Sun, is it?. I was def on her side and am still grateful that she stepped aside and allowed LSF to thrive. I thought Hybe bungled her defense, but I'm happy they let her debut and then bought out her contract. I read her most recent statement (she must be free of non-disclosure agreement after a year) and found it very gracious. To me she's still part of LSF and I hope she's still close to the other members and will find the success she deserves in whatever she chooses to do.

Its so weird how kpop stans were hating on her so much, saying she should be kicked out and that she deserves nothing, but as soon as shes proven innocent those same stans say that hybe should have done a better job of protecting her. Theyre seriously acting like they weren't hating on a teenager without any actual proof. Like, i dont even really like hybe, but from what i have seen, they did try to defend her, and only kicked her out because of what stans wanted. This whole situation just shows that kpop stans dont understand the idea of taking accountability.

    No, this!!
The most ironic part is that everyone believed Yoo Eunseo… yet, they didn’t know her face or her real name (cause Yoo Eunseo is a false name so she could stay anonymous).
She straight up admitted to leaking Garam’s friends nudes yet people claimed Hybe was lying.
Now, I will say this last thing… I partly blame Hybe because by April 15th she had given them all the evidence they needed to prove her innocence but they refused to release it or let others as well. When the cropped SVC Doc was released, they already the full version & could’ve instantly cleared her but they didn’t.
I can’t forgive Hybe for sitting on the evidence that proved her innocence in the end BUT I mainly blame stupid & toxic Kpop Stan’s who just don’t learn. I truly think they can’t function without being vile pieces of shit humans.

What's crazier is that after ruining her life ,now every kpop stan and their mother claims they always knew she was innocent and Hybe set her up and the whole bullying scandal to bring popularity to the group (bffr ,hybe is the last company that needs to use crass promotional tactics like those) . Hybe literally spent 3 months defending her and looking for ways to bring her back to the group. I think they probabably only ever gave in after realising they needed to start preparing for the group's second come back and the scandal was nowhere near going away

  • @Yoonmisbaby849
    @Yoonmisbaby849 Рік тому +12

You know what's worse? The members were probably crying loudly when she left. We should start thinking about the other girls reactions. I mean:
-Chaewon once forgot Garam wasn't there when they were doing the heart pose
(Chaewon was the leader and she was very close to Garam, she probably felt guilty when Garam left.)
-Eunchae was also close to Garam, they were almost the same age and probably that's what made them so close. Eunchae needed someone of her age, someone that she could relate with (She was very different during predebut era)
And ALL the members were friends with Garam, imagine how it must feel when you train for a whole year with someone, and when your results start to show, that person leaves. Garam auditioned like 2 times for Hybe, was rejected 2 times and in the third try she made it. Here you can see she had a lot of determination.
    Anyways, Kim Garam Fighting 💃

I have noticed that netizens (both Korean and international) won't support a company or artist if they attack a minor for their lies. I remember an artist getting attacked for suing a minor for their hateful lies. And to think now the netizens blame hybe for not releasing the document?!?! Lol as if. Had they released it they would have been called evil for misusing their powers on a minor. All of this shit show is the netizen's fault. BOTH korean and international. I will never forget this incident because it was clear that no matter how much an artist is defended there's no use when the target audience is fucked up in the head.

more things i remember that happened on social media during the scandal: someone made a viral edit of chaewon sh**ting garam in the chest and people in the comments were enjoying it, people openly bodyshaming garam, many le sserafim stans became ot5 when she was on hiatus and wanted her to leave the group, people spreading pannchoa articles as "proof" of garam being a bully, and as i mentioned in another comment, people spread a narrative that hybe caused the "victim" to commit s word resulting in more hate piling on garam.

When the Garam situation blew up, I tried to stay neutral, but watching people attack her in the comments based on the smallest pieces of information just sent me and I would comment on articles about how insane the situation is and that we shouldn't be attacking her or kicking her out without the full story, which led to 'fans' attacking me in return. I truely love Le Sserafim, but stanning them after what the fandom did to Garam is physically and mentally painful, and I will never forget this incident for the rest of my life. Being a part of the kpop community was already embarrassing, but it was without a doubt 100% because of the Garam situation that I literally stopped telling people I listened to kpop. I was in the kpop community when Woojin, Jimin and Soojins scandal happened but was never very involved or interested then I found EGUs videos about it and right after that this thing broke out and it immediately just felt like deja vu. The first green flag I saw that made me consider changing from neutral to supporting Garam was when I found multiple posts saying that when the "victim" had accused Garam many students from their school had started commenting and talking about how it wasn't true but ofcourse fans said Hybe was paying a bunch of 15-16 year olds to lie on the internet.

She can’t get a job or go to university without this scandal being bring up. Because if I was her boss or class mate I would question if I want this reputation to be associated to me. I mean Korea is super judgmental and has big bullying society, (like military, company, trainee, university, story come out all the time on naver, it’s not just high school, the way they form society and social statue and older/younger ) so It’s just going to happen people will talk behind her back and justify treating her bad because she was once a bully. Just imagine if in a lesserafim concert someone will have sign of garam just to show support to her. I think despite what has happened I really think she has a shot of debuting with a company at some point in the future. While I am upset with how the internet reacted towards this I think people need to grow up and stop acting like you can control how a company runs. In the end I do blame HYBE for caving in instead of making a stance and for once a K-pop company will not be influenced by public opinion. It’s important to have the public on your side, but there are times in life where there’s a line to draw on. This was a moment to make that stance. Instead HYBE is incapable of protecting their Artists. Hopefully garam will show HYBE they where sorry for letting her go. And I think she will have the last laugh.
