Saw them in New Orleans in support of the phenomenal "Mars Needs Guitars" album.
Best and loudest band EVER
Brings back a lot of memories for me when I lived in Australia in the early to mid 80s, I got to see the gurus live back in 1986 at blacktown RSL club, I still have all their early 7 inch Australian singles and a signed fan club sheet from 1983, dave, brad, clyde, and James Baker.
A great time to be in Australia. So many great Aussie bands in the mid 80s.
Australian treasure
Venus de Milo’s- Boston ‘ 88. One of my best concert memories. Was epic
Saw the Gurus twice in November 1985 opening for Shriekback at The Palace in Hollywood and Fenders Int'l. Ballroom in Long Beach Ca. Great memories! Thank for posting!
"I Want You Back" 14:00, "I Was the One" 20:15, "What's My Scene" 24:00, "Leilani" 27:30, "Bittersweet" 33:45, "Like Wow" 37:30, "Kamikaze" 40:30. ** These guys were so underrated COOL!
I expected them become so famous, but it never really happened, at least in Europe.
Huge down under and respected, but yes not sure why they weren’t bigger around the world, have at least a dozen bangers
@@ScottishTeeVee In the U.S. they had a big presence on college radio, as did a lot of Australian acts of the time, but in the U.S. the pop and rock markets are more segmented then elsewhere and both thought they would better be categorized as the other.
Great band and Dave’s vocals so great. Thanks for posting!!!!
Thanks for watching and commenting Jeff🙂

I saw them at TIpitinas in NOLA when I was living on Tulane Ave. and saw Lyle Lovett the next night. We went from slam dancing to getting stoned and chilling with Lyle. It was 1988.
88 a great time to see both the Gurus and Lyle Lovett

Brad Shepherd…
Unreal this crowd doesn’t know what hit them
Drunken Finnish.
Just found your channel and I love it. Just wondering that do you have any footage of Hanoi Rocks? There is only very few live videos of them and most of them are quite poor quality.
Original Hanoi Rocks is going to do a "comeback" in Michael Monroe's anniversary tour in next week. All the remaining members will be there and after the announcement, every ticket were sold.
I do have some video of Hanoi Rocks and by total chance I was just working on an interview with Micheal that was recorded in 1989, it will be available to watch in a few days time. Unfortunately most of my video tapes are in a storage facility right now, they have been for about 9 months, so I can't put my hand on the Hanoi tapes right now, but I will make a note to pick them up the next time I visit the storage. Thanks for watching and commenting 🙂
When the one of the world's greatest greatest rock n roll bands meets a brain dead audience ....
@12.00 2 aren't brain dead 🤘🏻
Haha, so true.
Amazing live show, but this audience seems has no blood
They're Finnish. Finnished.
A couple of flags on twigs does not Glastonbury make 😂😂
