This takes me back to Virginia in the Fall of 2010. 20 years old, driving down route 15 to see my best friends for the weekend, life was so simple back then, I was so happy.
Lyrics Life is beautiful, but beauty is a dying art Life is wonderful, there's only so much you can wonder about Before life drives you mad, and before nobody cares Before life drives you mad, and before nobody cares There are only words, and words mean nothing at all There's not a single word, to speak for my rambling around But I was searching for something, a sleepless night, painless and drugged Oh I was searching for something, a sleepless night, painless and drugged Time means nothing at all, it's a mark of the living to die Space is gonna fall, and the Sun's meant to stare us straight in the eye So maybe you will feel fire, maybe some day your love is wild Maybe you will feel fire, maybe some day your love is wild Heaven is an endless pit, I can fall forever but I'd never make it Hell is all that you know, cause you've been hurt and you've walked on coals And you crush under every command, hell on Earth is what life's always been Yeh, you crush under every command, hell on Earth is what life's always been
I love this band. I follow attentively for anything they put out because they are one of the best bands that are out there right now. I have had this album for seven or eight years. This is hands down my favorite album they have put out. Yet after all this time listening to the album, listening to this song-- which is one of my favorites of theirs-- this is the first time I've noticed: THERE'S A '666' ON THE ALBUM COVER
um actually no, if you have been hearing music for a long time you would understand why its so great. currently we are stuck in between crappy music and this brings us back to days when alt music was amazing
this generation will in 10-15 years say just what you're saying, it's the way life goes, things change... i agree with you, today's music is shit, but i can't help but think of the south park episode, if you haven't seen it, you should... anyway, it's the way life goes, it changes, and most people don't like profound changes
I don't understand what is so great. They are ok but "amazing?" Maybe if you are a kid who hasn't been listening to music very long. You can hear this in any bar.

I've seen these guys twice live and they're absolutely amazing. Their lyrics just shake your core man.
If you can try and meet them. McCauley is one hard core brother.
I always come here after polishing off a bottle of whiskey. Cheers Deer Tick
I seriously don't know why DEER TICK isn't one of the biggest and most popular bands of our time right now!!!!!
The intro makes my soul feel worth something
Lyrics
Life is beautiful, but beauty is a dying art
Life is wonderful, there's only so much you can wonder about
Before life drives you mad, and before nobody cares
Before life drives you mad, and before nobody cares
There are only words, and words mean nothing at all
There's not a single word, to speak for my rambling around
But I was searching for something, a sleepless night, painless and drugged
Oh I was searching for something, a sleepless night, painless and drugged
Time means nothing at all, it's a mark of the living to die
Space is gonna fall, and the Sun's meant to stare us straight in the eye
So maybe you will feel fire, maybe some day your love is wild
Maybe you will feel fire, maybe some day your love is wild
Heaven is an endless pit, I can fall forever but I'd never make it
Hell is all that you know, cause you've been hurt and you've walked on coals
And you crush under every command, hell on Earth is what life's always been
Yeh, you crush under every command, hell on Earth is what life's always been

these lyrics are fucking beautiful, feel like the ending could've been a lot more climactic. oh well.
Love I it
Yeah, most of the bands around here just play covers. I'd love it if Deer Tick came to Indy.
