get sharper vig/less blue fringing by using a smaller aperture (5.6, 6.8, etc). and if the blue fringe still bothers you, you can make a circular matte and then take out the blue saturation.

The opteka lens works perfect with my hpx170. You will have to remove the lens hood to avoid seeing it in the side of the shot (since it never seems to go on quite the same, adjusting it won’t work). If you really want to keep the lens hood, zooming to somewhere between 6.6x and 7x seems to work best for me. Taking the lens hood off also means that the lens cap will then rest on the glass of the lens rather than the hood. What I currently do while transporting the lens in the case is put the hood inside of the lens cap and rest it on the lens as if it were attached. Basically just like normal but the screws attaching the hood have been removed. Also, I ordered from Amazon, and the lens came with a spacer ring that allows me to attach the lens to my camera without having to order anything else.

For 4:3 cameras like the VX's it makes a difference using the smaller filter threads like 52mm, the difference however is more vignette, it might be a tad bit wider but it wouldn't compensate for the larger amounts of vignette. I'd recommend sticking to the 58mm and just using spacer rings. You could go up to 62mm if you really wanted to but there isn't much point

managed to snag a 72mm opteka off ebay about 6 months ago for about £130 it took a while waiting for one but it finally happened it's a nice match for my XM2 for sure and also no blue vignetting.
Managed to get a working VX for £150 on ebay the other day so we shall see how it looks on a 52-72mm 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

It's possible that the lens is a bit too far away from the camera glass. Are you using any spacers? It's also an idea to stop down your f-stop to increase the sharpness in the corners of the frame, that might help.
