Andrew Moskos and Pep Rosenfeld's Amsterdam Comedy Club Was the Best Stoner Idea Ever - Late Night with Seth Meyers

Late Night with Seth Meyers

I remember visiting Amsterdam in 2010 and found Boom Chicago completely by accident. My gf and I booked a canal cruise and for some reason I have now completely forgotten, one had to buy or pick up the tickets for the cruise at a place called Boom Chicago. When I went inside, I was surprised to find hanging on the wall pictures of Seth Meyers, Jason Sudeikis and Jordan Peele. It was so unexpected. Wish I had come back in the evening to see the show.
I believe Amber also spent some time at Boom Chicago.
Confirmed jackals, love it! Good stuff boys.
We’re ALWAYS watching!
As a Dutch person. I approve this interview😊😊😂😂😂
And remember: we are completely honest 😂
wow loved this interview. And the shout out to independent bookstores.
As an expat living in NL, that description of dutch honesty is very on point😅
I guess that’s where the saying “ like a Dutch Uncle” comes from
I had Dutch clients, living here in the US, who were very honest. It was amazingly refreshing to engage in honest, direct conversations. One would never accuse a Dutch person of being passive-aggressive.
Agreed. Describes our Dutch friends perfectly. Honest, direct, to the point. What I think I love most is their non-judgmental interest and willingness to openly talk about differing opinions and perspectives.
Pep calling out the jackals 😂
Thank you for this unexpected gem of an interview! A nice surprise for this expat watching on Thanksging morning. I've never been to Boom Chicago. Clearly, I need to get out more 😊
Go see Greg Shapiro whenever he next does a show there.
@@JootjeJGreg and Pep are performing this Friday, Saturday and Sunday night in Boom Chicago in their show “Politically Incorrect”.
@@cherylandristplourde awesome! Thank you
WOO HOO! Jackals Shout Out! Great Interview!
We love andrew moskos and pep rosenfield
@seth there’s one Dutch person you still haven’t interviewed from your days in a’ dam and that’s the one and only Jan van Ommen! Thanks for the great interview of what is truly a remarkable story.
We live in Amsterdam and absolutely Love Boom Chicago! ❤
It was awesome getting to meet Seth earlier this year as well!
some of the best comedy I've ever seen, worth watching the shows during my college years
Well done Andrew and Pep! Shout out to Greg Shapiro! Long live Boom Chicago!
Thank you! And Greg Shapiro just did a nice interview on Ivo op Zondag (in English) S4, Episode 9 released on November 19. Dutch intro and photos start at 35:30. English interview starts at 36:25.
What's up with writing "HOLLAND" on the cover, but showing a map of The Netherlands? That's like showing a map of the USA and writing "NEW YORK" across the whole map.
You call the airline to change a flight, not the airport.
Evanston Township High School is a major breeding ground for entertainment. So many of our classmates have done amazing things!
Why would anyone want a picture with Wally dressed like Seth, when a picture with Wally is soooooooo much better
i wonder what percentage of viewers understood Pep's jackal reference.
The studio audience sure didn't!
Correction!
Such an elite thing to think so, but you don't call the airport to change the return date of your ticket, you either change it online, or call th agency, not the airport.
Do you think having a typo in that statement will go unnoticed by Seth?
Maybe it was with a small charter plane elsewhere first, or an unfamiliar intl airline that ONLY had their office at the departing airport? I think we still have some charters that operate like that out of Halifax Intl.
As a Belgian, I feel low-key attacked :(
♥♥
11:44 what was that?
Someone needs to name their band Proper Traveling Soup Vessel
Tbf, it's a slightly more uplifting read about Belgian history than King Leopold's Ghost.
My kids and I are fans of Dutch American comedian Greg Shapiro. Saw him in Boom Chicago a couple of years ago and can't wait to do so again. Lovely place with a great atmosphere. ❤
Also loved the UA-cam collabs between Pep and Greg! And of course Arjan Lubach
I went to high school and did shows with all three. I knew Pep when he was Jon Rosenfeld, and when Greg Shapiro was Greg Shore.
@@tomshea8382ETHS ...Greg was my Freshman year roommate at Northwestern.
Wow they look just like Wallace and Grommit!
Correction - to change a flight, one would call the airline, not the airport. Yes, I know this is a simple mistatement, not on the same level of an error in the script or graphics. But the spirit of the jackal in me is too strong and must be obeyed. Sorry, Seth, this is bigger than all of us now.
That's what us normies would have to do. Famous people just call whoever is even vaguely involved and just expect them to sort it out.
I went to Boom Chicago around 2007, not sure if any of people who ended up famous were in the cast.
The one that springs to mind around that time that got a recurring role on Breaking Bad was Matt Jones (Badger)
nice to see more jackal-appreciators on the show! pretty sure a bull doesn't have black-and-white spots though
im callin it - they're on ecstasy.
How stoned were they then? How stoned are they now?
Josh is engaged?
We need to adopt the parliamentary system, which allows proportional representation rather than winner-take-all elections.
Belgians probably like the book if it makes fun of the Dutch. Rivalry thing.
I think the late 90s were the late 90s for everyone, not just for you, Seth.
In profile, all three of you have the same nose.
Sane jackals do not exist
So what changed? Almost every one of your videos was about Trummp but now they've been taking down?
Seth, you have an aquiline nose, which has been held in high-esteem for centuries. Screw James Dean. You've got a great nose.
Seth jus gave up on those last 5-10 seconds lmao. Mumble mumble mumble.
Rather nuts to have two guests from the Netherlands on last night and act as if nothing in particular is happening over here this week. Nah, we only got our own little Trump elected as likely prime minister for the first time, no biggie...
He ain't prime minister yet!
I actually did a show about that fact with Greg Shapiro at Boom Chicago the night I got back to Amsterdam!
@@PepRosenfeld thank you! But this would have been a chance for Seth's audience to possibly look a bit beyond the borders as well. I personally at first actually mainly thought about our election in how it possibly foreshadows the American one. You guys are great, and Seth's support for all of you is great. But the tone of the interview was a bit "the Netherlands is this fun place to get high and learn to do comedy". Which most days would be a fun way to get mentioned. But in this day, by someone who is clearly rightfully worried about the state of US democracy... I hoped for a bit more.
I understand. To be super fair though, when I left Amsterdam he wasn't polling at #1, and when we shot the episode Wednesday afternoon, we didn't have the results yet. We were as shocked as you when we finished and the texts from home started rolling in!
@@PepRosenfeldI understand, my mistake. I only heard Seth say that nothing happens in the Netherlands on Thanksgiving, and just assumed it was actually the Thanksgiving day show, which I now suppose doesn't even exist because, you know, big holiday. Now rewatching I hear you say "two days before black Friday". So yeah. My bad. I've somehow been rather snappy and sleep deprived these last few days!
This doesn't seem funny at all
"... Thats not a James Dean nose,sir. "
