- Gay homosexuals Nick and Joseph spoil Megalopolis - a 2024 American epic science fiction drama film written, directed, and produced by Francis Ford Coppola.
Premise: In a decaying metropolis called New Rome, idealist architect Cesar Catilina is granted a license by the federal government to demolish and rebuild the city as a sustainable utopia using Megalon, a material that can give him the power to control space and time. His nemesis, Mayor Franklyn Cicero, remains committed to a regressive status quo. Torn between them is Franklyn's socialite daughter and Cesar's love interest Julia, who, tired of the influence she inherited, searches for her life's meaning.

The reviewers I've watched so far haven't even attempted to describe the plot. You guys are brave.
This is an underrated comment. I chuckled! With that said, there is a plot, and it does have one or two interesting thoughts, like how aristocrats tear down cities just to put gold leaves on a building. However, in this movie, it's done by the protagonist, who is also the villain and antagonist at the same time. The guy we think is the villain is just brushed aside as joke halfway through the movie. However, there is nothing funny about it. This movie is like that joke called The Aristocrats, except it's not told by Bob Saget or George Carlin, it is told by your best friend, or a guy you've always looked up to, but with the worst delivery possible, so everything sounds like a complete clusterfuck because of how gross the joke actually is. The joke is not a joke. It's all in the delivery. But if you can't present it as a joke, it becomes a horror story. Everything in this movie is a half-baked idea that falls flat as soon as it's taken out of the oven. It's like a kid using Play-Doh to make a fancy cupcake, and then watching it melt as the oven is turned on.
I don't think its that hard, its the story of the guy that wants to bring change, Adam Driver's character, and the politician that doesn't want change, Giancarlo Esposito, and the politicians daughter is in love with Adam Driver. Big picture its about moving past the safety of the structured system lest it collapse on you, kind of like the two party politics of the US offers no path forward. Most of the characters offer tension, like Shia Labeouf is very much a past and present populist that wants to keep the status quo, in that Adam Driver is your hero he is kind of the opposite, he is supposed to be obviously charismatic for the masses but kind of an evil court jester for the story.
"ATLAS FARTED"😂😂😂 I'm strapping in, this review is gonna be a hell of a ride🎉. Your pull quotes took me all the way out!!!!😂
This movie is shit. There is nothing redeeming about it. Some good scenes, but most of the most amazing in the trailer aren't there. I think it was the worst movie I've seen in over a decade.
🤣 best review of this movie I’ve seen yet. Though I enjoyed it to a campy extent , I can’t deny any of the criticisms and am laughing my ass off hearing you guys just rip on the film 🤣 cheers.
Joseph’s facial expressions and deadpan approach is always so funny
Not ‘look likes Rupaul’s Drag Race Season 1” oh my hahahaha 😭
Was just about to say this 😂😂😂
Vaseline filter? ✅️
I am enjoying all the bad reviews for this film. So far, you guys are the best! 😂😂😂
Why👏 is👏utopia👏so👏ugly👏 😂
Because utopia is always going to be ugly....it implies forcing your will and vision on everyone else.
Great review. I always appreciate a full spoiler review and these guys are some of the best.
Joseph always asking the real questions 🤣
I cant believe Nicholas Cage isn't in this bat-shit movie. I mean, Copolla had other family members in it... Such a missed opportunity!
Even Nicholas has his limitations! Sorry Unc…I got Longlegs to film 😂
Wow you're so right
It was a "concept" of a film. 😂
😂 👍🏼👍🏼
The names of the characters make me think of when you do those things that say: pick the name of your first pet, now pick the street you live on, thats your megalopolis name😂😂😂
☠️
I love how all the names are kind of like Roman inspired and then you have WOW PLATNIUM 😂
Wow Platinum in particular lmfao
@@erikdaniels0nSounds like a color of paint at a hobby and craft shop
@@eldritchbidoof 😆😆
This sounds so tedious, Give Coppola his flowers for his past work but he has entered his nonsense pretentious Breen era
Breen with a budget.
Hey Coppola will be right HERE!❤ LMAO!
Breen is only way to express this hot mess! I love it 😂😂😂😂😂
not breen lmao💀💀💀
Where's your film...?
He said,”it’s so 2000 and late!”😂😂😂
This sounds like Stephanie Meyer wrote The Fountainhead.
Ha! Lmao! This made me choke on what I was drinking! Spot on! 😂🤣
Stop 🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂
'Megalopolis' is the kind of movie you would get if you gave Neil Breen a massive budget and told him to make an epic successor to 'Fateful Findings.'
Joseph: "Again, why is utopia ugly?" 😂😂
I'm new to you all's channel and this is one of the funniest reviews I've ever seen in my entire life. I absolutely love both of your chemistry and the real way you covered this movie. Tysm for this! Calling it bad community theater literally had me fall down! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I agree these guys are the best. Great chemistry, honest, and not over the top.
Now I realize. Why Nicolas Cage, a Coppola, was not hired? His out there acting would have probably been fun to watch.
Taking psilocybin gummies and watching this in IMAX tonight 😂
How was it?
@@АпологетикаБазинского Underwhelming 😬
Bummer. I was thinking taking drugs would be the only way to view this movie.
Might help...?!? 😳🎉
@@jucxox This movie is a stunning masterpiece. Don't listen to all the bandwagon hoppers.
I love how honest you are in your assessments and where they're coming from. In this case, you contextualise the filmmaker and what he was attempting to make vs what ends up on screen. I find you so respectful in your dislike. That's commendable in film criticism.
This is the best review so far because it touched on most of the subjects that bothered me.
There was another scene I could not put sense to. In the beginning there was a scene of a marching band and the tuba player while on break gets lured away by Shia Labeouf‘s women and taken away. Then his fellow band mates ask where he went and they say ok let‘s go in the opposite direction. What?! This is never explained. It seems like another throwaway scene that got far too much exposure.
Your pull quotes slay always. Better get the ice coz the burns are searing hot darlings!
❤😅
To be called" breathtakingly terrible" and "egregiously stupid".. put those quotes on the movie poster now😂
It would be extremely revealing to be able to really get inside Coppola's head and compare how he first conceptualized the plot for this film way back in the late '70's compared to how it has now finally debuted almost 45 years later.
It's an understatement to say that the world has evolved dramatically since the 1970's.
I haven't seen the film yet, but I suspect that part of the incoherence and inconsistency of the movie is due, in part, to Coppola's inability to successfully integrate his original vision and all the societal and geo-political changes that have transpired in the past 40 years.
Interesting.
A hodge-podge of ideas executed by better men: Fritz Lang, Shakespeare, Orson Welles.
That summary makes Adam Driver sound like the tech bros Elon Musk.😅 All these men believing they're gonna shaped the world to their vision, only to destroyed something's that already fine. Just as revolutionary as a stick.
Ps. Coppola is allegedly abusing female extras in this film set he fully funded & controls needs to be talked about more.
Another classic fish jelly review for the books! I’m not sure what this even is. Virgin auction, meteor, casserole dish and Rome like outfits with a modern twist maybe. Soo confused. Thanks for going through the torture for us!!! ❤
I'll watch this only if mushrooms are provided.
Vibes ❤😂
TBH this movie is probably better and makes more sense if you're on shrooms
I watched it sober and it was lacking in so many areas (I agree with their comments and frustrations). And the only reason to see it again is under the influence of potent weed or good shrooms. It’s a perfect stoner film. In fact, I think this movie will become a stoner classic. I can totally see it growing into a cult film where the entire caveat is “only watch while on drugs”.

@@jay-dubb.dubb.68 hell yeah! Also, it might help to go into it with the mindset of watching something campy like Rocky Horror because as someone said “it’s like he knows this is the last movie he’s ever going to make so he just stuffed all of those ideas into one film”. It’s a mess, but it’s also unforgettable (not in a good way, but unforgettable nonetheless).
This movie also didn’t work because Adam and Nathalie had sub zero chemistry
It’s almost like they didn’t like each other
I want to know how they were with each other on the set
This sounds even worse than I thought based on the trailer!!!
It is, but in a so bad it’s extremely entertaining kind of way. Especially when 3/4 of dialogue has characters saying things that no human would ever say or phrased in such a campy way. If you love camp, then you HAVE to see this. This will be remembered as a cult classic
Just saw this. Honestly not shocked at how awful it is, but also kind of shocked about how it’s worse than I thought it would be 😭
That's crazy. Omg, like what stratosphere is Francis Ford Coppola on these days? 😅😅😅
I'm morbidly curious just to see how terrible this film really is because the trailers looked awful.
@@TheDreamingJune It’s a mess. Performances are terrible besides Esposito and Driver, CGI is horrendous, I could go on and on. I’m usually completely locked in at the theater but I was checking the time often for this one. Part of me almost recommends seeing it in theaters just for the bizarre experience alone, though
yall do the best, most entertaining reviews.
saw this last night and could not agree with yall more. a spectacle in all the wrong ways, but i’ll never forget it!
The review we have all been waiting for.
How many more flops before we stop hiring Adam Driver?
I was afraid this was Coppola was trying to remake Fritz Lang's Metropolis.
Worse - that people who have never seen that movie will assume it's just like this.
Adam Driver’s haircut in thumbnails for Megaflopaloss is trending at 15% on Rotten Tomatoes. Anton Chigurh said even he is appalled.
I clicked on this video so fast 😂 your review didn't disappoint.
I would love it if you two made a movie together. Nick could write it, direct it, while Joseph casts it, does the costuming, and both of you can work on the soundtrack.
Don't forget the hair for Joseph. You know he'll kill the hair styles. 😊❤
12:27 "It feels 2000 & late."
🔥🧨🎆
"You can't tell me when everyone involved who saw this didn't this wasn't a hot ass mess" 🤣🤣
God i love you two.
I'm grateful for y'all!
Talk about burning that candle 🕯
Thanks. from Brisbane,Australia
I'm late as heck and no one will read this, but I'm just here to support my guys. While curious about (1) how bad this is, (2) how theaters handled the live dialogue scene and (3) if Ayn Rand is rolling in her grave, I have no interest in supporting a pdf file protector and a suer of abused children any longer. He made some great work but, like Romanski, it just leaves a bad taste in my eyes. So I GREATLY appreciate you both reviewing and spoiling this for me completely since I won't watch.
Justice for #NathanForrestWinters.
And that Paris is Burning quote....chile.
lol the female characters in this are ridiculous. it does seem like a geriatric man wrote this.
That's exactly what i said to my husband!
Ceasar Catalina is going to save the world… stick to salad dressing my guy! Lol
Or wine mixers lol
Whenever I hear Jon voight I can only think of that Seinfeld episode 🫣
I saw this last night. I woke up to this review. The movie was on my mind this morning. I loved this review. it was spot on! Thank you for these videos
Wow Platinum sounds like my next hair color 😂😂
Is this what Coppola is going to leave us with? I was looking forward to this film for sometime now. I'm still curious to see it in the theater but I don't want to leave depressed. 😢
I was so, so disappointed by this movie. The trailer was complete deception. We left the theatre early and for that much money! I honestly still can't believe how horrible it was either. Always nice to see Adam Driver though - the only way i could sit through the part i did. Shia, as always, just ew. Perfect role for him.
I live for every time Nick mentions Ayn Rand 😂
I just came back from seeing this. I wish I would have watched this first. You guys have me cracking up!😂😂😂😂
Had no intention of seeing this movie, the previews looked to pretentious. Thank you guys.
I may have to 🏴☠️ this, it sounds so bad it's funny.
@@LilLadyAywould highly recommend. Its like if the room had a $120 million budhet
@@joeyhoon1074 my favourite so bad it's good/hilarious 🤣
I get so EXCITED every time I see a new video uploaded from you both! 🤣 💯
Unintentional genius. The best worst movie of the decade. Also, the quiet poetic voice over by Laurence Fishburne was possibly an idea lifted from the art film Ashes and Snow. Also, those heavy handed literary references, at one point Adam Driver just holds up a copy of Hermann Hesse's Siddhartha for no reason whatsoever.
I agree with everything you said, except that it was intentional.
I would actually consider buying a BluRay of this just to hear Coppola's director commentary track to try and understand what was supposed to be going on during certain scenes.
For this weeks makeover challenge: Shia LeBuff, I am sorry m'dear but you are up for elimination... 😳🎉
I'd rather go watch you two, than the movie
Fantastic review!
exactly.
Your review totally justified the existence of this film - it was that entertaining (your review, that is). I will play it again when I have my notepad handy.
Spoiler alert: It's the worst movie ever made by the director who also made the greatest movie ever made, so it's only fitting. Trying to make a review of this movie is like trying to convince a flat-earther that the world we live on is a sphere.
MY ACCOUNTS ARE FROZEN! NO! NO! NO!
What a horrible waste of so much time and effort. Your review is spot on.
Atlas Farted 😂
You guys *"nailed it" - * This, "plot"...maybe for those obsessed with mixing the idea of internal human struggles with external superficial 'perfection?'...😵💫 *But, as you viewed it,* nothing materialised coherently to appeal to your keen reviewer's senses☺
This review is so negative it ironically makes me want to see it.
@@bmljenny There's a Dan Murrell review where it hits all 5 categories of his do/don't recommend to see it for all different reasons. It was pretty entertaining. It even has a Stefon impression 😂
Sorry guys, but this sounds so terrible, I have to see it!! 🤣🤣
That was my thinking and why I went and saw it. Wait til it is on streaming.
I know no one likes Dracula, but it's still my favorite. I keep wanting this to be that, but something tells me I am going to actually hate this.
I love Dracula
One review said "megalon" is basically "flubber". 😂😂😂😂😂
Don't hate me boys. I liked it😅
The Conversation is my favorite
Thanks a million guys great review ❤❤❤
Sounds all over the place
I mean Francis is 80 maybe as an artist this is something he felt like he had to do
More for himself than anyone else and sure he is arrogant has the money to do it no one is going to question him
And of course to us looks like a sloppy mess but mind you it’s Francis Ford C so there are people that will eat it up and say it was a 5 knowing it’s not
But hey that’s just me ❤😊
I liked how you both reviewed this movie. So funny and the comments too
Yeah, I don't get it- what a dumpster fire. I too, was shocked at how bad it was- cartoonish, terrible writing, weak character development, boring green screen effects, AI overload, pretentious ponderings, etc., etc....
Everyone knew this movie would be bad. The only person that's gonna suffer from this is Nathalie Emmanuel. She's the one that needs to show everyone she can really act. Unfortunately, she said yes to this role. Smdh🤦♂️
“it insists upon itself”
Saying this with love- I am so glad to have you two to watch this crap, so I don’t have to.
I was waiting to see who Jeremy Strong was playing in this movie but it turns out that was Shia Lebeouf in your background oops 😂
🤗 After hearing terrible reviews of this movie, I knew the Fish Jelly channel would have an awesome time ripping it to pieces!
💙💙 The boys are always at their best when the movie they review is horrid 🤣!
I heard Driver was asked what the film was about and he basically didn’t know 😮 it was complex and you have to see it for yourself 😂. We’ve got fish jelly to explain everything Driver couldn’t 👌 ❤
This review had me laughing so hard this movie was bonkers
Are y'all tryna say it was a "Megamess?"
Megaflopolis.
Somehow this isn’t even the craziest movie Kathryn Hunter has been in 2024 lol.
Managed to convince a friend to see this with me and it was crazier than I expected, even having seen clips on TikTok. I LOVED how batshit wild this movie was and can’t wait to stream it with my friends once it’s available at home
An utter disaster that will go down in infamy. For that, I’m glad I saw it 🙌🏾😂
Is there a drinking game for every mention of Rupaul's Drag Race?
The movie is a riff on the Cataline Conspiracy that took place near end of the Roman Republic. If you don’t know that, it certainly makes no sense. If you do, you understand the inspiration for all the characters.
It feels 2000 and late 😂
It's always interesting to explore people's perceptions of reality. It reminds me of that 30 Rock episode where we saw Kenneth's perception of reality (everyone was a Muppet).
This is the funniest video:
Nick: Coppola is one of the greatest filmmakers to ever lived."
Goes on to praise his movies.
Also Nick: this movie is pure dog sh*t Coppola is pretentious
LOL I almost spit out my coffee laughing so hard 🤣Never change nick, never change!
This movie is a HOT mess, wow. Thanks for ur review

I LOVE when you hate movies...sounds like the CATS review...
Nick you forgot Godfather 3 lol I'm kidding I know you left that out on purpose, that movie was ummm no lol, live both you guys.😊
I mean I still liked it. I know I'm not alone but I feel it's not as bad as people say. I love the cast of this latest film but I am putting my expectations way down down based on this review. Let's hope I'll find some redeeming parts to it as long as they get me through the runtime 😎👌

Directors are getting Laurence Fishburne to direct because of his voice. But I think I understand what you're talking about on why he had him voice heard of here because of his character and how not Central his character is to the movie
18:14 "like rupaul's drag race season 1" 😂😂😂 omg, the vasoline over the camera lens in that season was 3 inches thick 😂😂😂 This movie looks tedious as hell!
Shia LaBeouf doing a humiliation ritual in drag 😂
This whole project is humiliation ritual
I liked Shia's character, he is a charismatic politician, but because its Adam Driver's story who is trying to push past status quo politics he is more like an obnoxious obstacle, could be a Reagan, could be a Clinton, could be any politician with style and no substance.
I liked his Dracula movie. And The Outsiders.
I have been waiting for this one. After seeing it a few days ago I have been obsessed with its details and stories behind the scenes. What a train wreck. Thanks for the great review guys.
Nicks pull quote is perfect and Joseph is pure bitch haha
Oh and thanks for explaining it cause i fell asleep and started scrolling
