- Which is more fuel efficient - downsized turbo, hybrid, or just pure weight reduction? We pit the Ford Fiesta Ecoboost against the Honda Jazz Hybrid and Mitsubishi Attrage in an efficiency challenge up to Genting to find out.
And after so many years the Fiesta EB would be breaking down, the Jazz hybrid would need expensive electronic fixes(even more exp bills from Honda), while the Attrage would still be alive and kicking.
Recently sat in one with over 300,000KMs and i was surprised that there was almost no rattles or knocks, while the engine still runs smooth and ac seriously cold.
So far I'm reallly liking this driven web series. Very Malaysian style. I find them very entertaining I keep watching them more than a few times. And the jokes aren't stupid. 10 minutes of these episodes made me laugh more than 20 minutes of those big comedy shows (BBT,HIMYM, etc). Keep it up guys!!

It run out of fuel because the driver thought it was a race thats why he emphasized and mentioned twice on the last part that fiesta is not part of the efficiency test. by the way as I read wikipedia it says " The ECOnetic gets an estimated fuel consumption of 65 mpg-US (3.6 L/100 km; 78 mpg-imp).When tested on the highway mileage and emissions test schedules, on which hybrids are designed to perform well, the ECOnetic outperforms the Toyota Prius" - Wikipedia Ford Fiesta

I just realised that Hafriz is probably Malaysia's Captain Slow equivalent (The Grand Tour's James May).
I really enjoy watching your review and joke and Malaysian style la. It's better than watching European/American reviews since the car sole here has different specifications.
I had a Ford Fiesta for four long years. It drove and handled well, quiet, good fuel mileage. But it was the car from hell. In for repairs all the time. 17 repairs! Over 40 trips . Always took at least 2 trips, one to find out what is wrong, then they order parts and with luck they fix it. One problem took over three months and over 10 trips! I live in the U.S., it was made in Mexico. Are you sure the transmission didn't fail? My Fiesta had a bad fuel gauge too. It took Ford six months to fix that. Six months for a fuel gauge!!!
Hybrids in the U.S. the engine stays on if the A/C is on.
Mitsubishi is on it's way out in the U.S. Only car rental companies buy them. Used to sell well.
four years ago so that must be 2010 model aside from its an isolated case,2010 model and 2013 - present models are very much different from 2010. anyways according to wikipedia as of February 2014, the 2014 Fiesta ranked number one Subcompact Cars according to U.S. News & World Report and in the UK, Fiesta has the largest market share in the of 12.87% almost half of those registrations belonged to the Fiesta. Im pretty sure yours is an isolated case

Hafriz should slow down the way he talks. I know he can speak decent english, but clearer pronouncation is good rather than fast talk.
Obviously Harv didn't run out of fuel. You can clearly see him jamming on the brakes at 10:39.

My attrage nearly 10 years old. Still going strong and only refuel every 10 days or two week once..got few times when car coughing while climbing hill... Just to found out fuel tank nearly empty. Forgot about Refuelling as the car ran forever without fuel. 😅😅😅
I hope Mitsubishi will come out with a Wagon version so that i can bring my dog and do some light delivery. It will be good for Grab or Lalamove entrepreneur.
In Singapore the attrage is claimed by Mitsubishi motors to be 20.8/litre

Please re-consider to buy bcoz my Attrage bought in 2014 having wheel loud sound when braking it is a shame, now already 2nd year the service centre still unable to resolve the problem & too many excuses. JM sucks

why is everyone trying to copy Top Gear? im not really a fan of this show, since this was the first video i watched, but you guys should stop trying to copy top gear. NO ONE can copy top gear, and if you do, you just make a big fool of yourselves on the internet. Be original. Think of something on your own instead of piggy backing someone else's idea. that's the way to success.

Anyone doing a car show will be accused of copying Top Gear, it's inevitable. Does this show have exploding Hiluxes? Corvettes racing through a shopping mall? No ridiculous stunts like turning a Hilux into a boat to cross the English Channel? No? Then how exactly are they copying Top Gear? By talking about cars?

So, which is more important for you? Fun but slightly more cost, or boring but cheaper. I'd choose fun but slightly more cost anytime!
It will be nice if you guys will compare some fwd only hot hatch, such as megane rs, gti mk7 and focus st! Just a suggestion.

My manual cr-z have totally different FC pattern compared to jazz hybrid, although they share the same IMA setup (CR-Z hv bigger 1.5 engine though). highway betters city driving, 18km/l vs 15km/l. another thing about Honda's IMA hybrid is that It is perfect for short burst of speed, windy brake -accelerate hill climbs (genting), town driving due to the nature of regenerative braking & start stop tech. But have to watch out the IMA battery reserve. If Its depleted without having able to get to charge, the car will be sluggish...
Tat time i able to try out the latest CRZ CVT with new battery. I actually avg 20km/L at highway and when full throttle at genting , the battery nvr seems run out of juice.
One of the best drive in my life with tat CRZ.

Aku bukan komen cc engine atau hp ko ler. 15 tu spt yang ko cakap la. FC. Stakat fc 15, baik pakai myvi. Itu maksud aku. Sebab 15 tu standard MYVI. Hybrid aku expect 18 dan ke atas. Itu pon, ada kereta, bukan hybrid pon boleh cecah lebih dari 20. Am i look stupid dan xda ilmu?
Should replace the honda jazz hybrid with toyota prius c, far more efficient plus, the air-cond is working although the engine is turned in the EV (electric vehicle mode). Honda system is too way behind toyota's. Make a new video for this kind of challenge.

Why use an old IMA Jazz as a benchmark for hybrid? Should have used Prius c or the new Jazz hybrid. There'll be no issue with no air con when engine is off.
prius C is now priced rm 150k. wayyyy out of league to be contested with these sub rm100k cars. The new jazz hybrid hvnt launched yet in malaysia. we only have the old jazz hybrid

Good one! I'm impatient so I think I'd suit with Fiesta Ecoboost better. But my concern is the jerking. What kind of jerking is it? Will it be uncomfortable?
in lala land the jerking is something you're used to IF you come from a manual car. It jerks when it changes low gears (ie gears 1&2), similar to how a manual car will. Key difference is the dual clutch transmission for ford, you sort of always get the feeling that a very good manual car driver is behind the wheels when accelerating, but bad manual driver when decelerating. so, in stop-go traffic like kl, it can get jerky. Like i said, nothing a manual car driver wouldn't get used to, in fact, with practice you can eliminate most of the jerkiness by easing off the pedal slowly when accelerating and decelerating.
redeyeskev thank you. Your explanation really helps me understand what kind of jerking it is. I've been hearing a lot of mention about the jerking but couldn't really imagine how it'd be. I guess it wouldn't be that bad. I'd rather have that than slow pick up when accelerating.. Cheers!

Suggestion:
1. Need a Stig and a standard track to test times.
2. Give points ranking, Like how they do in Fifth Gear.And post update overall points board.
3. Better graphics, when explaining cars, (the Hybrid / Turbo Skit) was meager.

***** Then Perodua would foolish to do so as it is in the same segment. From what I understand, they retain the production of 850cc Viva as there is no replacement for it. But Axia is definitely a Viva replacement as it does not make any sense to have 2 cars compete in the same sector. Plus, they stop producing the 660cc n 1000cc Viva version because of Axia. To tell people Axia is not a Viva replacement is a bit misleading.

3:29 wrong! more air alone doesn't give you bigger explosion. With more air you can inject more fuel for a bigger explosion. If just by adding a turbo can improve fuel efficiency, every car manufacturer would have done the same, no need for complicated hybrid technology. Sadly adding a turbo doesn't improve your fuel efficiency. It only gives you more power by pushing more air and injecting more fuel for a bigger explosion in your tiny engine

DroidTech Lucky you, I'd take the fiesta over the other two as well. Over here the price for the ecoboost is nearly the same as the focus and i just cant see past that.

Only because people aren't using it properly. The transmission in the Focus & Fiesta is a dual clutch transmission so it shouldn't be treated like your typical automatic torque converter slushmatic.
May I know how to treat them?
From my experience the harder I've driven the smoother the dual clutch drives in traffic when I'm not driving hard.
