brown is power, ground the other wire to the frame. If it is LED and doesnt work, swap the wires.

Ok so my side running light has 1 brown wire coming out the back I connect that brown wire to the brown wire for power but light doesn't have a ground wire what I did see inside after opening it the brown wire was connected to the light bulb plus there was a silver clip also connected to the bulb with a hole in it is that clip a ground. I appreciate your help.

@@micheal7488it’s likely ground to the mounting bolt where the light attaches he’s to the frame. Make sure there is a clean ground connection if it still isn’t working

Ok got the running lights working both of them left rear light working but know my right rear light isn't turning on anymore checked bulb works ran power on wires of brake lights it works checked the 4 pins on truck works so I'm going to scratch the paint off to make a good contact ground for lights ect. What do you advise why that light isn't working anymore was working yesterday lol.

Thx for the video. My trailer wire had only a black and white wire that split off underneath to each light. Only the running lights worked. I spent hours trying to figure it out. I'm just ganna run the same wiring kit you did. I wish I found your video 4 hours ago lol
    Thx

Thanks for the video. Trying to figure out the wiring to the side-marker lights. Yours shows one wire, mine has two. And I have never used those blue clips they give (your closeup towards the end was very helpful). Any further guidance you can share would be appreciated.

Tthe wiring kit that I used grounded the lights to the frame. You should be able to do the same. If they are LED, just be sure you have the positive and negative wires set the right direction or the light wont work. I think the best advice I can give would be to double check the routing of your wires to make sure they don't rub on anything or get pinched when folding the trailer.

Yours has 2 because 1 is your ground and 1 goes to the running lights if it had only 1 wire the actual stud will be ground and the only wire will be running lights make sure the ground is tight and clean if not light wont turn on

I'm having the same problem. The old wiring was spliced and connected to the colored wire only, for the side light. I just rewired and used the blue splicer and put both brown and colored wire in along with the side light wire. Haven't plugged it in yet so not sure if it's going to work. But seperating the brown wire from the colored wire at the side light and attaching the light to just the colored wire, worked before. Hope this makes sense and by now you've figured it out vw64.

Thanks for the video. I just assembled my new Haul Master trailer and was wondering about the best way to run the wires to accommodate the folding "hinge" area of the trailer. The main concern being to avoid having the wire get crimped/cut when opening the trailer back up after storage. Looks like your method worked...have you had any issues since the video?

I know the trailer comes with those stupid wire nuts, but please do not use them. Use butt connecters instead which is the proper way to connect those wires.

me personally i would have ran all wires down on one side and then over to the other.. dont use wire nuts they vibrate off over time. hint shrink/ butt splices.. wire loom on the whole harness prevents you from having to do this again in 4 years.. wheres your hitch lock?
