Hi my name is Lilly and I am an American expat living on the island of Koh Samui in the gulf of Thailand for the last 8 years. My husband is Thai and his name is Wat. We have 2 half Thai, half American boys named Luke and Leon. Nam is our Nanny and she is like family to us. She is from Myanmar and has worked for us for over 6 years.
Wat and I have owned several businesses together on Maenam walking street in Koh Samui. Right now our restaurant Lilikoi Bistro is closed but we will let you know when we reopen.

I agreed with you. The happy couple. Actually. According to the book of marriage. They have a "meh". It refers to the both couple have a same spot at their face which have something in common. The meh make some one attract to someone else. Everyday. We woke up and we looked into the mirror and we found the most handsome man in the world which is "ourself". So, along the way, we will find our couple which same face with ourself. The meh sometimes refer to eyebrow, nose, forehead which similar to ourself. Second thing in life. Ot is not wealth and face but the quality inside our partner such honesty, being humble, hard work and respect to each other. Wish you happily ever after.

@@scandarani2 I'm curious where you are from. Different cultures present happiness differently. He reminds me of my grandfather who had a rough life, didn't smile much, but his content was what we would call happy. My grandfather is Chamorro and Japanese. My gradnfathers culture was more reserved in expressing feelings. I have a feeling her husband is the same.

We would really like to visit Thailand and have a holiday to visit my wife’s relatives, unfortunately we are stuck in Australia amid this current pandemic. It’s nice to see someone like yourselves enjoying family life even though times are difficult. Maybe a visit next year? We’ll see.

I love that Nom is part of the family. She is a food lover, like me. I don't know how you all stay so trim. I am gluten and dairy intolerant but I love to watch you tucking into those yummy pastries. Here in South Yorkshire we eat a lot of egg custards it certainly is traditional in our family.

Yeah and I think that is so weird. Why would you want your kids to think the nanny is their second mom. This reminds me of the story in the Bible where Abraham was coerced by Sarah into impregnating Hagar their servant maid because she couldn't have children herself. That woman might get confused and start liking her husband since, she's taking care of his children, he takes her everywhere and she's always in the house. Especially if she doesn't have a boyfriend for herself which I'm 99% sure she doesn't because she's ALWAYS in the house with them or tagging along. She only has 3 kids, having a live in nanny is uncalled for. It's not like she has a staff which the nanny can engage with. It's only them 3. And the kids. It's like a bizzare potential 3 some, 3rd sister wife, surrogate scenario. If she finds out that man slept with the nanny she can't complain because she did it to herself. Even my grandmother told me when I was a little girl "You don't ever leave anyone near your man".
Beignets are a great idea. They are so delicious and have so many types of sauces like orange marmalade or butter cream sauce. Great with coffee.

Lilly owned her first restaurant at age 24. She sold her portion of the restaurant and moved to Thailand. I am Lilly’s mom. Lilly is a fabulous cook and a teacher. She taught Nam to cook with picture cards and hands on instructions, before she could speak Thai!
