Mon grew up in the small village in the South of Thailand. His parents were rice farmers in the beginning of his life and grew many herbs and vegetables around the house.
Mon watched his parents cook and when he was 8 years old, he started to cook food himself. When he grew up, he managed to get a good job in oil & gas so he can help his family financially.
But in 2015, the oil price dropped and Mon was laid off. What seemed like a bad thing at that moment, turned out to be a new opportunity and Mon had the chance to do what he had always dreamed of: set up a cooking school for Thai food.
Mon's school became successful in a very short time and a few years after starting, he was number 1 on Tripadvisor and his class was fully booked every single day.
Then when COVID19 hit in 2020, all of a sudden Mon lost his business and all his income. However, he managed to turn this into a new opportunity as well, when he started doing his cooking classes online!

Sending all my love to you from Finland! ❤️💐 on december 2019 me and my husband were travelling in Thailand and stayed at Ko Lanta for a week. I participate to Cooking with mon by myself and I was pretty nervous to come all alone when everybody else were with some friend or family. Mon make te atmosphere so cozy and fun so all my stress went away. The whole experience was so inspiring that I will remember it whole my life. I’ve been cooking a lot of thai wood since that here in my home land. Definetly will come back some day to meet you again🥰

Maayan, there as a scene in another video (can't remember which one) when Mon was cooking at his parents place and your son Manu was behind him on the couch playing with his phone and playing it loud while you were filming. You both told him to leave the room and go outside while you were 'working'. He ignored both of you and Mon took away the phone from him. I'm sorry to say this but as a teacher, there are already signs that your son is going to be insolent and disobedient and a problem as a teen. You need to show him firm discipline - that's what boys need in particular when they are young especially. Very firm boundaries and consequences. Don't make him a problem later, especially if you want him to mix appropriately with western people.
Need to do more online classes :)

You are restricted to how much fish you can catch. That is why when I am in Phuket, when I catch fish. I give it to the locals, and to see them smiling makes me happy.

My family n I have been to Mon birthplace Pattani. We also been to Songkla, Yala, Narathiwat n Hat Yai. Last time being there was about 5 years ago by car. We drove all the way there. Real adventure. We also drove to Koh Samui but that was like 30 years ago.

Your Thai husband is a very rich, not everyman in Thailand can bye a land beneath on the beach in island. Because it is very expensive.
That's absolutely true. But I want to tell you, my husband came from nothing. His parents were rice farmers and while growing up there was very little money. But my husband is lucky because he is smart and his parents raised him to work hard and save money. Everything he built up, he did by himself. We might do a video about this soon.
