I recently discovered Evoto, it’s AI-based editing software. It’s sort of like magic. I am able to use this software to edit at speeds I didn’t think possible before. With just a few clicks and sliders I’m able to quickly edit portraits.
Evoto allows me to do basic tonality adjustments (exposure, highlights, shadows, etc), crop images, fully control white balance and color. But the AI features are the big time-saver. Removing blemishes in skin, reshaping facial features (would you like a slight smile?), and smoothing skin in a realistic way.
You can use built in presets for all kinds of portrait styles, and you can create your own presets based on your retouching style. You can apply a very minor adjustment, or you can add many effects to totally change the look of your image.
Here are a few standout features for me:
    1. It’s very fast: If you are looking for a way to quickly retouch images and get them back to models or clients, this is a game changer.
    2. Hassle Free Blemish Removal: You can remove skin blemishes with a single slider. It’s incredibly easy. You can even remove glare, add skin texture, and manually remove blemishes with the healing brush. And with local masks, you have complete control of your adjustments.
    3. Total Control: Evoto allows you to control the intensity and location of each of your adjustments. You can create natural looking portraits or more “AI looking” images - the choice is yours. Make global adjustments, or apply specific adjustments just to areas that need them.
    4. Apply Makeup: Have you ever wished your subject had a bit more eye liner? A different shade of lipstick? More sculpting of her cheekbones? With Evoto you can apply different makeup styles after the photo shoot. It’s really amazing.
    5. AI Editing: There are tabs that allow you to edit exposure and color adjustments and a separate tab for Portrait Retouching. In the Portrait Retouching Tab you can use AI to edit: Blemish Removal, Body Blemishes, Face Shine, Eye Wrinkle, Dark Circles, Glasses Glare, Skine Retouching, Facial Reshape, Teeth Touch-Up, Hair and Body Reshaping… and that’s not even the full list of features.
Now, here’s the exciting part for you! Head to www.evoto.ai/s/MarkWallace30 and get 30 free credits when you sign up. Each credit equals one image, so you can retouch 30 images for free and see the magic yourself. You’ll wonder how you managed without it.

Great video Mark! I have just started using Evoto and absolutely love the software! What is your work flow while using Evoto? Do you still use Photoshop/Lightroom? In the past I imported my images to lightroom (which would automatically convert my raws to DNG) and then organize/ edit in Lightroom. Then I would do the heavy editing in Photoshop. Now I am wondering if I can import DNG's into Evoto or if I need to change my workflow? Do you have any suggestions?

Hi Mark. Thanks for the informative video. Could this software be used for other subjects like food or product photography, or is this purely for people? Thanks Eugene

You can use it for anything, but the AI tools are built primarily for portrait photography. That's where you get the most value.

Thank you for this great video! Do you consider this software as a Capture One replacement? If you already have LightRoom, Photoshop, and Capture One, can you import the images you took using those applications? Thanks in advance!

    • @MarkWallaceVideos
      @MarkWallaceVideos  9 днів тому

I'd use it as a supplement to Capture One or LR. You can move images between capture one/LR/and evoto with no problem. You can edit the raw file in Evoto and then export it as a TIFF or PNG file to be used/edited in LR or Capture One. Or you can export images from other software and import to Evoto. Just use standard file formats and you'll be good to go.

Really incredible tools, at least from your demo! I went to their website immediately after watching your video and looked at their pricing. I don't like the idea of paying per per picture. Deal breaker!

Good to have competition, but I'm sticking with LRC - can't beat that price of $9.99 a month for both LRC and PS.

I think I'll use Evoto to augment my LRC workflow. My catalogs are years old and I have 100,000+ files in them. It would be hard to just switch.

    Hi Mark
Admire all your videos that I’ve seen, whether your channel or Adorama. 👍🏻
When I do portrait work I have been using Anthropics Technology, Portrait Pro Studio, and I’ve gotten quite used to the product and processes even after all the updates/upgrades.
The question: Do you think this Evoto product will take anything away from portrait photographers? I know photoshop has AI as does Lightroom, and I think even Portrait Pro has some AI technology, but this Evoto seems next level. Maybe it’s just me, though. I don’t know.
Do we really need AI to do almost everything for us?
Not looking to start an argument or anything with anyone, just your honest opinion.
    Cheers
    Mark

    • @MarkWallaceVideos

At this point there is no automatic LR/Evoto integration. I have suggested it to the developers and hopefully it's on their roadmap. You'd have to manually export/import from LR to Evoto and back. But, I wouldn't be surprised if that integration happens soon.

Interesting tool but don’t you think that by modifying all those imperfections then the person is no longer real?

This “AI” is nowhere close to perfection. It results into something that we used to do back in 2017-18. The wax polished thing I meant LOL. And this being an stand alone will make it even difficult to get into the industry workflow. I’d rather go for the Retouch4me for sure.
