It's a homage of Jaeger LeCoultre Master Geographic in which the '5-6-7' window shows the time zone.

It isn't the Seagull movement, it uses Shanghai JHS32 movement.

These AliExpress mechanical watches around the 60 USD mark are quite interesting. I have a couple (Cadisen and Starking), and they really give a lot of bang for your buck. I have been keeping my eyes on Carnival for some time now, they have some interesting models. This particular one is a bit "too much" for me (too many complications, the dial is too busy for my taste), but still it is a very nice engineering feature, and all those complications at that price! Just unbelievable. Objectively, a very nice watch.

I have this watch with steel case and blue dial, it is a great watch, works great and I wear it from time to time, I like it! The blue color is not the brightest, but is fine. I wonder to buy in future also with white dial, looks great!

The dial is too busy, if only they change the dual time to a single hand with 24H format on dial, and the kinetic display a bit simple.. that would be a more beautifull dress watch IMO. I'm more interested in the next carnival watch you showed in the middle of the video.

    • @GedmisLaguna
      @GedmisLaguna  4 роки тому +1

Yes the dial is busy but in real life it doesn't look too busy and the main hands are perfectly readable

    • @Lanciarules

You can alteady see that the next carnival is too big and the date is too much inside the dial (case too big for the movement)

My verdict is less favorable: dealer specified 40mm case, it really is 42mm as shown here.
Power reserve display is working, but way off: its pointer runs from 45hr to 17hr within a mere twenty hours of runtime.
The movement (JHS32) is poorly regulated: mine gains a second per hour (will adjust myself, as it has potential for better accuracy, it is not very sensitive as to positioning).
I, too, wonder about this odd 21mm strap, very unusual, even the 'real' thing from Jaeger LeCoultre uses 20mm?
My white dial/gold case model (IMHO the best appearance) arrived in a black plastic 'coffin', with a laughable manual (a typo in every line) that does not even cover this watch model. Adjusting the simple movement does not really need instructions though. Try setting some Miyota Promasters or their 9 hand 6770 movement for a change..
I bought this Carnival mainly for the power reserve thingie (have a few other ones with this feature). The 2nd time zone feature is a cheap trick, and the simple 1:2 geared 24hr display only relates to this alternate timezone. A date DIAL is always less desirable than a date WINDOW, due to the narrow scales, hand alignment issues during a full circle.
Yep, this 8762G is a cheap knockoff, based on the Swiss "Master Geographic", for 0.5% of the Jaeger LeCoultre price tag (10kEuro and more). Worth about that much; it will wander into one of my watch cabinets, as a curiosity.
Overall Carnival is in the 'middle' league of mechanical watch makers in China. Similar to Guanqin, Cadisen, Nesun, better than cheap Tevise, Sewor, Forsining, Jaragar etc. Not as good as Sugess, Seakoss e.a. Materials and their quality are OK, as is finishing. Hand alignment and movement regulation is always Chinese potluck, due to lousy quality control, as is durability. Ask me about my China tourbillons..

@@GedmisLaguna I did add my comments to several of your other reviews , as requested. You may (or not) agree to my point of view. Also I wonder whether your own reviews have a commercial background? Where do all the watches come from that you show in your channel? Freebies for 'testing' and favorable reviews?
As to my 8762G: I could trim its speed from +25sec/d to about -6sec/d with face up/down. Currently checking the bad linearity of its power display, also the speed variation vs spring load and positioning.
My watch could be broken or badly assembled: when checking the beat pattern in vertical mode (=crown up or down) I noticed huge deviations and speed drifts, bouncing around wildly over minutes. As an amateur I assume that some gear bearings are 'loose', sloppily assembled, with too much play, axles tumbling around in their jewel bearings? Must study..
This Carnival will not become a favorite of mine´; just too weird and not trustworthy. I did have another, a full calendar automatic, model by this company; sniped at Chinabrands for less then $12, shipped! It ran perfectly, was quite pretty and solid, could be sold later with a neat profit. I should have kept it..
      YMMV.

@@GedmisLaguna there is ONE sort of watches I do NOT like: these 'diver watches', all more or less identically looking and bland three hand faces with the silly 60min bezel. Based on the Rolex submariner thingie AFAIK. I own ONE watch with such a rotating bezel and that one runs (of course!) BACKWARDS! Very useful as a countdown indicator. Just place countdown time of bezel over the minute hand and voila, always informed about the remaining time while parking, boiling rice etc. I have no clue how I am supposed to use the forward counting scales on these Rolex gimmicks? The backwards bezel is on my trustworthy Citizen 8110A chronograph from 1977. So no diver watches for me, sorry. I can barely swim..

That is not correct! I own 3 different models of Carnaval mechanical watches (in my watch collection) with the Shanghai JHS32 movement over a period of 8 years and they are extremely accurate. This brand hands down is a lot of watch for the price you pay! Overal, this brand makes great quality watches that also looks quite beautiful! FYI, Shanghai JHS32 movement is just as good as the NH35 movement. Many tests have been done during the last few years, which confirms just that! Perhaps you should do a bit of research prior of making useless comments about this grreat watch.
