yes fr. i honestly think that hell in vivs universe is like an exagerated metaphor for earth, and the sin that comes with it, charlie seems like a jesus figure for sure, she cares about her people and they really do need to go through the hotel (like jesus says to go through him) to get to heaven, but yeah even though there are parralels, its pretty much a lore of the world fanfic that doesnt claim to be truth. as a christian im a huge fan.

Satan in Hazbinverse is a separate being from Lucifer. Satan is the son of wrath in Hazbinverse
Hazbin satan is undoubtedly its own version of satan and not a direct representation of the real one. As are all the biblically inspired characters. But I don't remember the son of wrath lore. Am I missing something important that changes the read of his character?

As a fellow life time Christian, i appreciate this and cant argue with anything said. I probobly love it so much more and feel less weird about it cause I kept it so seperate and only think of it as fiction cause it is. I never thought to deeply into how inspired it was from the Bible or might have had accidently correlations. Sorry it made you uncomfy but glad you enjoyed our snake boi :3

3:37 i agree with these points and I don’t like that we mostly see bad angels in the show but I just want to point out that a lot of the citizens in heaven don’t know about the extermination, because they know that they wouldn’t like it. With the reveal in the trial and Sir Pentious being redeemed i wouldent be surprised if heaven finds out what is happening and also supports Charlie wanting the hotel to work. Also possible spoilers: we do see Angel dust’s twin sister in welcome to heaven (pink spider winner) so maybe we will see her in season two fighting for her bother and the other residence of the hotel
I did love this video tho ☺️ I feel like it’s important to step out of our comfort zone and see other people’s pov as long as we’re respectful

My experience with hazbin hotel is on one hand i see it thru my Christian faith and strongly dislike if not hate a lot of it, but one the other hand i love the characters, story and songs, but i feel bad to watch something like this. The good news about your point about only negative Christian stuff is that the next season should have a huge focus on Heaven, so we should hopefully see some better people.
Great video! I watched a little bit of some other Christian reviewers, and they really need to take into account that this is NOT a kids' show.
I'm Catholic and, funnily, attending the same school where Vivienne Medrano (creator of Hazbin Hotel) graduated from. I have many classmates who experienced religious trauma in their life and make art based off of it. While some are just straight up disrespectful, others make beautiful works that come deep from the heart and express such painful sorrow.
Art is tricky because while it is an expression and outlet for strong emotions, it is also very compelling, and can easily give a wrong impression. That being said, I like how you viewed the show in this light.
Let's continue our Christian journeys of being understanding and charitable, but still sticking to the truth we all know. And that way more people can learn about our faith and the true loving God.

for me what made me uncomfy in the story was
#1: lilith in general
#2: charlie trying to prove people in hell can go to heaven (in the show they can obv thats the point but in christian beleif adams right "hell is forever weather you like it or not")
and 3#: is how heaven acts in the show
i never watched the show but i heard about lilith and no me gusta cause people are actually confused by that false truth sometimes like real life and its terrible

Exactly. I found the setting to be very Earth like as well. There's lots of very similar sin there too, just like on Earth so maybe it's kind of like a symbolism of some kind

As a Christian, I do like this show, the only thing I disliked was the personality’s of(most)the angels, I feel like it was stereotypical with SOME Christian’s who do act like that, it threw me off when it started, though other than that I think it’s a great concept, and I love the character designs.
I think ou are so wise&clever. I do agree with you a lot and I belive that the true problem(+solution) isn't the show itself, but the ability of people to see the actions/characters represented in the show in different perspectives and question them(like you did).
As an atheist your thoughts were really interesting to me. Thank you for sharing them!

It is a sad fact of humanity that the loudest voices are the ones that are most hurtful and the most motivated to do harm.
And you're right that many non-theists go too far in response. Though non-theists are almost always not violent and don't push for laws that harm their political opponents.
For myself, I haven't believed in God since before I was 10, and I don't even remember when I stopped believing. I think it might have something to do with reading a lot of Greek mythology and knowing it wasn't real.
But it doesn't mean I'll disrespect or dislike you or anyone of any religion. As long as that individual's actions respect my humanity and individual choices and beliefs.
To all who seek to live their best life without harming or belittling anyone for any reason other than actual harm that person has done, I wish you the best that I can, and may you find peace and happiness in life.
Ngl I clicked on this video because of the rage bait, but even as a extremely non biblical person I can see your point of view. Not all Christians are bad even if my experiences say other wise and I do hope there is more representation for hevan in season 2. My personal beliefs lean more towards this shows perspective but it's always good to see others point of view.

Title is not entirely wrong specifically it wouldn't exist with the devil aspect of religion
3:37 like the video very, good, and very thought out one take I do have when it came to the court in heaven it was very clear for Charlie to be proven that sinners can be redeemed. A sinner would actually have to be redeemed and good to heaven, for example, when they show Angel Dust and we see that he has approved but he hasn’t been redeemed if he was then he’ll be able to go to heaven since he wasn’t that doesn’t prove Charlie’s point and also I think we shouldn’t be in heaven this quickly since we haven’t seen much of it and the angels as well because the show said itself that the only ones who know about the extermination are the Exorcist, Adam, and Sera all of other angels don’t know about
I like to think that the reason that the demons in the show are technically the good guys could be in reference to how humans, like how the demons are addressed as, are sinners. Note how there were several times the demons in hell were referred to as sinners, just like us :) The church is meant to be a place where the most demonized, hated, and devious people are meant to go for redemption. The church, in the end, is a place ran by sinners just like the show. In the end, I don't think the show choosing to not make the sinners the antagonists is meant to convey the message that "Satanism good Church bad" but instead it is a commentary about how many who go to church and isn't seen as "perfect" is often demonized.

I think it’s pretty similar to real life- god belives people Can be redeemed and that’s probably actually what he wants in the show (a popular fan theory) but adam who wants to be righteous seems to condem anyone who has done any wrong much like many religious people today who seem to not follow true values…now Emile would be representative of the people who DO think people can be redeemed..but people like that tend to be over shadowed by those who condemn and hate- seen threw charle thinking ALL angels where like Adam- Charlie is also the daughter of Lucifer..she grew up in hell- she was born there and she should not be condemned or hated or seen as Evil for that..but Adam definitely seems to look down on her which you can also see happen in real life- those who have parents who where seen as bad or grew up in unfavorable environments seem to be locked down on or condemned, especially by “religious” people (not representative of all religious people ofc) I personally like lucifers character a lot, as a non-religious person, I am agnostic I know many biblical story’s from different religions and I seem to never quite click with any of it.. i click Sorta with this show tho in the sence that i love the idea of somone lIKE Charlie in hell and angels like Emily..but it also makes me wonder if heaven or hell exist what exactly is the line drawn to point you to one or the other- some people say even little things can get you sent to hell even if you had changed and others say it has to be more extreme- I’m just exited to learn more about the characters in this SHOW ..i really try not to question what will happen in real life because i simply wont know until it happens 😂
I got my dad to watch this show and he really wasn’t sure about it at first brcuase he is slightly more religious..but ultimately he lived the show and Lucifer is one of his favorites! Ofc because it is simply a show- to be honest I think a lot of people would rather Lucifer- if he exist and however he is- to be like Lucifer in the show 😂
(little off topic but I’m wondering if we will see any other people such as Cain and able 👀 or if they even exist in this version- AND what happend to eve after everything- so many questions I hope get answered and it will be so interesting to see how go is portrayed! Definitely look up his fan made design! A lot of people have been using it and I quite like the way it looks and would love to hear your thoughts on everything moving forward- and anyone els who sees this- as it’s really interesting for me to hear different prospective or thoughts on maybe the deeper meaning of the show in your opinion- because agin I am kinda speaking for a multi media prospective rather than one solid belief system which- even that can have multiple different answers)

This is the first positiv christian review of Hazbin Hotel I saw, and you´re so likeable... And I have to say that as an Atheist, I would love if more Christians were like you: Kind, accepting, and just fun... :) In defense of Emilys cluelessness: she didn´t know the truth about stuff because her superior kept it from her and I think that´s kind of how the Christian chr hierarchy in RL works sometimes... :/
Oh, and there are a bunch of hell characters that are evil (and just pretend to be good) like Alastor, the V´s... Susan (xD)
I literally had to stop this reaction.. I will continue of curious. just had to point out as an atheist. I agree with you. to bad I feel the same about gods not dead. the enterer serries. the fact that every time an atheist point of view is represented, it's the straw man version because its Christian media that 98.7 percent of the time is portraying atheist characters ever.the 4 to 6 movies that are truly atheist are very bad. the one show that portrays the Atheist position right and has them as the main character. it's just to bad it's the main character in saga of tanya the evil and they are the bad guy... 0.o!!! /i get why this is though. atheism is not a full ideology. it's just a potion on one queston. as a writer{truly first omnibus} you need way more than that to make a character.
Hasbin hotel isn't even truly an atheistic show but the fact you guys are kind of mad over mild crtisism of just your positions when you literally have a hole whole christian propaganda mill that the only place an atheist character has shown up in. other than maybe six movies and an anime. it annoys me. I a, talking about actual fiction btw.. not documentaries.

just looked up on wikipedia. their are more atheist representation than i though. there is a hand full per medium though. compare that to the decades of Christians being the only ones portraying atheist on a regular bases and usually as critism of our ideas. I know both sides have put out non fiction but you guys gt the fiction market on depiction of atheist cornered. which is not good. I know that isn't christiinatis fault. other that in that context an atheist character is not really needed.

As someone who was indoctrinated as a kid here is my thoughts
I get why Christians view Satan as bad but I don't think he is. I think he represents critical thinking almost. He questioned the face value and got punished for it.
I also get how it can seem like it's saying, "Christians bad, Satan good." I don't think it is really focusing on Christians being bad, but the system not leaving room for redemption. Life is short, and in life, you can get a bad hand and make horrible decisions. But a short life with no real control, why should that be the merit we are judged for the rest of eternity?
Also I'm not sure if it's stated that everyone in heaven is Christian and everyone in hell isn't. If Christianity actually does exists a lot of Christians would go to hel, as stated in the Bible, few will actually make it. (If you believe there is no nuances or context and everything in the Bible is true today)
I do appreciate you saying "Some Christians do bad" a LOT of other Christians will say those aren't real Christians so they don't have to adress it.
An as a pagan it's kind of a slap in the face whenever I hear someone from the top 3 faiths get sad or offend when people speak out about their religion cuz I'm over here like "how tf do you think i feel. My religion and practices are demonized by religious and non religious people, " but I get it
You are allowed to have those feels and they are valid. But I think in most conversations when a majority speaks out they have to realize they are still in a position of privilege.
If the tables were turned I would not receive half as many people in support.
I think this video was really insightful for how some may view the show but at the end it did feel almost as you didn't recognize the privilege. I could just be over thinking it tho.
