I have the Giulia and it's been hands down the best car ive ever owned. The handling is sublime quality of finish and the reliability has been second to non. Alfa have really pulled it out the bag with the Giulia / Stelvio platform and I would happily get another

You've been lucky and I'm glad you have. As much as I loved my Giulia for how it looked and drove, it's reliability and overall quality was AWFUL. I returned it to the lease company less than half way through my lease.
Still love to see them out and about though!
What specific issues did you have and what year model was it? @@Nick-vp7lp
@cbarber5366 it was a brand new 2017 Veloce. Adored it for its looks and handling etc but the list of issues I had was long.
Check engine lights
Electrical problems eg driver display switching off at 70 mph on the motorway.
Corrosion on all 4 alloys
Faulty wing mirror motor
Alarm that went off all the time
Rear brake.discs and pads useless at 10k miles (motorway miles). Had to claim under warranty.
Corrosion on bodywork
Those are what I can remember.
It's not fast like an Audi R8 or like most electric cars. Bro, just lost all credibility 💀
But EV’s are gay. Only democrat simps buy them. Sure, they can be fast, but sound like a dustbuster, no soul at all.

Am I missing something, or did you do the entire test in "Race" mode and then complain it was too fidgety? All you needed to do was put it in dynamic mode.
I run my 2019 Quad. in ‘A’ mode most of the time - perfect 👌
Oh no, "Race" mode has more throttle response! I keep mine in Race always unless there's moisture on the road or if I am in traffic and want adaptive cruise. The lesser modes are so boring with less throttle response and less brake response. Race mode and my ceramic brakes (on an SUV!) are amazing and it brakes and handles like crazy and those characteristics also outweigh even the 500 horses. It is also a 2019 and a much better sounding exhaust and upshift sounds like cracking a whip, which the new ones don't sound like anymore.

Life owned 7 Alfa’s from 156s to Gtvs to Breras and one thing I wouldn’t do is compared them to my Cayenne ! They are in a different league, that being said I’m a true Alfisti ! Only the Italians can build soul and passion into cars .
If you go into race mode and then press the suspension button in the middle of the dial you will get all the sharpness of race mode but with a softer ride.
All that you have to do is put it in dynamic mode and now they have updated it for the valves to open. Do not criticize the car just because you don't know how to use it. The newer cars won't sound as great as the old ones because of regulations. And finally as a skilled driver of high powered cars this summer drives much better than a BMW suv by a ton. I don't know if you have a bad vehicle or if you just don't know what you are doing.

This is the best sport Suv. I have driven in Balocco play ground. Fake journalists like you sponsored by German brands ruined this sector. This Car is Amazing. Much better as handling of a Macan turbo or Cayenne. I hate when people are not objective. As Exterior with this red etna colour is amazing. The others are just tanks.. Interiors are very nice with not this mega touch screen that after one year are glitching everywhere.
Well said! Reviewer who expect a gazillion screens and super high tech kit miss the point of the Quadrifoglio (Stelvio or Guilia) - they are drivers cars, not tech laden gizmos. The focus is on the drive, the feel, the soul- which is lacking in so many German performance SUVs. It’s also nice and unique and not seen everywhere like the common as you like BM’s, Merc’s and Audi’s!

To echo the when did I last see a Stelvio Q4, I can't remember the last time I have seen a recent Stelvio of any trim level.
Your looking for too much teck, Joel. Which is a massive feature of today’s cars and boring!! Talk to your dad about the iconic RS Turbo, RS Cosworth, and many of the cars from early this century. We just got o with it - not so much teck!

You’re missing the point by comparing it to the German offerings, it’s Italian it has soul. Bits will fall off, it will need fixing regularly but you will forgive it every time because it’s an Alfa.
But sadly it doesn’t really have the Italian soul/charm in this newest model.

@@itsjoel My 156 Sportwagon was terrible really. Every time it went to the garage there was a list as long as your arm of things that needed fixing. It snapped it’s timing belt and needed a major engine rebuild at about 30k miles. (Company car so cost not an issue) But it was drop dead gorgeous inside and out and it was an event every time you drove it. Only car I’ve had where people would come and ask you about it when filling up at the petrol station. Followed a few years later by a 159 Sportwagon, a lot better quality. I have an itch for a Stelvio that I’m trying not to scratch ! I’m with you analogue dials every time.
Unless you e driven Alphas somebody of your age knows nothing of the art and beauty of an Alfa.

Not everyone likes the same things on a car. Having bought a car on the strength of one of Joel’s reviews I found that I really enjoy the car I bought. Maybe he doesn’t like the same things on a car that you do. It’s an honest review

What a beauty. The interior is not too bad either. The multimedia display is a bit too small and instead of just simple black plastic buttons, something metallic or shiny black like the buttons next to the gear selector would have classed up the car to the highest levels. It's something in between a peugeot and BMW for me. But I love that they still have physical buttons for (most of) the essentials. I hope the "everything through touchscreen" era ends fast enough. I hate the distraction of having to browse a tablet while driving so bad! I still gotta drive a Alfa one day though. Like Jeremy Clarkson said, "you cant be a true petrol head, without owning an Alfa Romeo" 😅😄

I have the Guilia, 2023 model and it is EXCELLENT, just couldn't stretch to the V6 but more than happy. Yep has some foibles like the door pockets. But really it drives great

@@itsjoel Ah I hope so lol 😅 I mean it's Italian, the day it left the factory, it started to fall apart. So, set your expectations lower with them 😜 (Fiat, Alfa, Maserati,..)
But, it's the brutally honest channel, so keep that up! Saves us from the disappointments or makes us find unlikely hidden gems.
Its an old platform now from the Fiat Chrysler days, so they wont be developing it anymore now they are part of Stellantis. Wonder if the new one will be based on a Peugeot 508 or something.
Omg, the platform is called Giorgio. It's not FCA and is one the best in Europe if not the best.
Everytime you passed Dynamic it said open valves. You have been unlucky with Alfas this one in wrong mode, other one a worn gearbox.

I'm just being honest with how I feel about the car, I often have nothing much bad to say in my reviews, so this is not the norm for me to 'moan'
This and the giulia are the last real alfa romeo, its from 2016 and 8 years later they are at the top of the performance! power and handling are supreme! Not to compare the the last bmw's or audi's! They are modern video game car! Thees are more like an old school car in some ways!

Contemplating one of these or an X3m. I am a bmw fanboy so i think i might be disappointed with a Q4.
I went for the stelvio QV because the X3M is heavier and doesn't offer ceramic brakes. That was a deal breaker form

For a start its illegal to have race mode on.when your on a public road.and this stelvio is far superior to any German suv you buy this car for the driving experience. As I say far superior to anything German

Why do these things require accessory belts so often? It’s a ridiculous cost that has to be done like every 40k miles! Since the front end has to come off and all kinds of 💩 unbolted, couldn’t they come up with a stronger belt?? It’s not like the engine revs that high even. I just don’t understand.
