Nothing wrong with Kenan wanting to go solo but it was pretty dirty of him to not keep in contact with Kel at all.

He hasn't even gone solo, he's been with SNL for over a decade which is conssists a large group of comedians. Keanen's not funny enough to hold a stage on his own, Kel on the other hand, is hilarious.

Same thing with Ja Rule in the fast and the furious franchise, he complained 500k was not enough in the first movie and guess what? They replaced his ass with Ludacris , who has since then been in like 8 movies I think, some people refuse to see long term, and only see short term.

I just think that Kel loved his friend Kenan and never saw Kenan's success as his failure. He was going to make it on his own, never badmouthed Kenan and when the time came was able to step up and get his due. You never got to be salty about someone else's success. What God did for them, he can do for you.

I met Kel a couple years back at Stan Lee’s Comic Con in LA, dude was genuinely nice and gracious when I told him he was a big part of my teen years.

I always felt like Kenan resented Kel because he was liked a little more by the fans, especially the girls. Even as a kid I always noticed how much louder the girls would scream when Kel walked out on stage at the beginning of the Kenan and Kel show .

I’m going to be completely honest. As a LONG time fan of All That and Kenan and Kel - Kel was always the spirited one who made me laugh so hard I couldn’t breathe. Kenan was always kind of commercial, got the job done and was funny…enough. But Kel was the more talented, creative, dynamic, charismatic, funny, and purest of the two. The man has the talent to make you laugh so hard and cry. Because when Kel is acting serious, you feel his soul as he strums your heart strings.
This version of how things went down was sugarcoated. Let’s not get it wrong - Kenan abandoned Kel, and left him for dead. Just like Monique said to Dexter in Good Burger,”You’re not Ed’s friend, you’re just using him to scam a little cash on the side.”
Sadly, that is exactly who Kenan is. He isn’t a good person. You can have your solo career without doing what he did to Kel. Kenan is lucky that he still talks to him, when Kel could’ve easily told him to kick rocks.
Kel has more character, soul and heart than Kenan could ever have. I don’t like Kenan anymore for that reason. Kel might not be here today, and Kenan wasn’t there for him.
Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder maintained a respect even though they both had separate lives. Richard may have badmouthed him while under the influence but the two in the end respected the other.

I never knew the full story but I am embarrassed to say I was duped by Kenan all these years. I thought Kenan was such a "nice guy" and maybe Kel just had his issues. The more interviews I watch though, I see how Kenan has this cold calculated way of speaking about how they "both wanted" to go their separate ways. No, Kel needed him there when it mattered most. I see through it now.

Kenan sensed that people preferred Kel, and he made it his business to cut Kel out of the picture as they aged. We have to remember that these guys didnt grow up together, they met on set doing their jobs. Perhaps Kel thought they were more than costars while Kenan always considered it a business relationship

I wouldn't say that. Don't get me wrong. I see where you're coming from. But speaking from experience I grew up as a twin. We were always best friends but we were always a set. Always lumped together. Rarely considered individuals. We craved our own identities separate from that set. This is very similar. Kenan wants his own identity separate from the duo that is Kenan and Kel. He may not have handled it the best but he never stopped caring about Kel.

Like Keenan and Kel one was rarely mentioned without the other. The only difference is I had to deal with it from birth so I was able to learn to cope with it. Keenan and Kel had it thrust upon them in their early teens. It's easy enough at first but as time goes on you want to establish your own identity but it's hard when everyone sees you as an inseparable set

My childhood was pretty rough, dealing with alcoholic abusive parents. Keenan and Kel made me laugh when I didn't think I could. I always answer the "Which celeb would you want to meet" with Keenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell. Not only would I want to meet them, I'd want to give each of them a hug and say, "Thank you for brightening up my childhood."

I met Kel at the LA Convention Center ! He’s such a nice and humble guy. They both look great ! I really hope they reconciled and stay friends. I’ve always loved them.
I met him briefly at a movie drive-in event Nickelodeon held to promote the All-That reboot back in the summer of 2019. I fully agree with your statement.
I'm gonna just say this. God has a way of keeping together and bringing back together what was once lost or that missing element. Keenan and Kel were like brothers when I seen them together doing SNL and good burger. It was unfortunate they had to split up for a time but in due season god worked his hand and brought them back into each other's path once again. My prayers for both brotha Keenan and brotha Kel. Imagine if their fallout never happened. We could’ve had Kenan and Kel on SNL (provided that Kel’s audition was successful) and 90s kids could’ve further grown up with them in the 2000s and 2010s throughout teenage years and adulthood. I would’ve loved to live in that alternate reality.
My dad is in the military and I couldn't even begin to describe how upset my dad would feel if my mom was cheating on him especially since she would be his second divorce while serving(his first didn't cheat she just couldn't do the whole "moving all the time" lifestyle). I'm so sorry that happened to him and I hope he found someone better and moved on with his life(I also hope she was shamed for cheating on him by her own family) Cheating should be a crime and punish as one. Kel always seemed like the humble type and a chill individual. Kenan always seemed more like for him self than helping the next. It's TRUE that sometimes friends do fall apart, but this situation seem like Kenan just flat out bailed on him. I mean as just being a friend to Kel even through his darkest hours.
