To be fair, Billy Bob Thornton is able to look so incredibly different in the roles he is playing. Just look at U Turn for example. Hardly recognizable in that.

I remember cringing when I first heard they were doing a Fargo tv series, that there was no way it could live up to the movie. I have never been so happy to be so wrong. The series is excellent (haven't seen season four). I'm sure Brandon will enjoy it

For example i think overall it's heavily bloated and we don't get a chance to get to know a lot of the characters, but there are many moments in the season i really love. It's frustrating because somewhere in that season is something great, the black and white episode imo being one of the best in the series. It's like having a plate with really good steak but everything else on said plate tastes from bland to gross

I've always wondered what billy bob thorton's character saw in Lester. Him connecting to and involving himself in Lester's life is the biggest mystery of this show for me.
I think Malvo realized that Lester was on the edge and just a little push would make him explode. We know he collected recordings of the people he interacted with calling him after they ruined their own lives. He probably realized Lester could be another fun recording to collect.
I really love this first season of Fargo, it came into my life at a weird time and I feel like it’s a story I can return to over and over. Excited to watch the rest of the season with you!!

Definitely the most gripping opening episode of any series I've ever seen. So much happens in such a short amount of time, and sets up an amazing story line.
Being such a huge fan of the movie I stayed away from watching the series thinking I would only be let down. But if Brandon's watching, then I'm watching with him. Had to come back and edit after watching, I'm hooked !
F A R G O is perfection. The creator of this show only does a season when he feels he has a compelling idea. 4 incredible seasons so far. All unique and brilliant with amazing casts. Also, fantastic score.

@@oliver4705 - Don't get me wrong: I enjoyed Season 3. However, I think that there were a few middle episodes that dragged just a bit. Whereas seasons 1, 2 and 4 were incredibly tight (in terms of writing), Season 3 just had a very good beginning and a very good ending.
